PLEASE NOTE: For ease of tracking, could you please RE-POST your official list with your progress after every update. Striking out the book's title and/or adding a finished date after the book's name will be best.
First update will be December 6.
Welcome to first-time challengers and good luck everyone! Let's whittle those TBR lists down!!
I think I may have to try and read two books at a time. :S or try to fly through Lover Avenged! I can't really take Lover Avenged to work with me because of the cover, so I might be able to get a different one started from the list.
I'm confused, how are people done with a book on their list already? Did they start reading at midnight? We are like what 8 hours into the challenge? You people are fast!!!
Andrea wrote: "I'm confused, how are people done with a book on their list already? Did they start reading at midnight? We are like what 8 hours into the challenge? But since GR is international for some people the day is over.

I started at midnight. My first 2 books were smaller than I usually read. I am almost done with the second. My husband was up working on lesson plans, so I thought it was pretty early, but he actually stayed up late (that never happens!). So I kept reading. LOL!! I get up with my kids at 6 am and read for a couple hours before my little ones get up. I also work from midnight til 8am some days so I can read a lot that way as well.

Lynn- what did you think of Mona Lisa Awakening?
I always give my honest word of the books I read so I hope you don't get mad. I thought it was okay. It was def something different. They are not shifters of vamps, they are children of the moon. Whatever that really means. It was a little Anita Blake in the bedroom, but it is an easy read. I just finished the second. It is a little better than the first. I will end up reading the whole series, but I am a nerd like that. I can not just stop in a series.
Valerie wrote: "Great challenge! Are there really people who do not have 15 books on their TBR pile? Craziness."I think my trouble runs into having most of my TBR list being UF not PNR. So I don't think that really can go with this challenge.
of course I would not get mad! there are plenty of books that other people rave about that I don't find all that great :-) it is all about personal taste. I have found that how I feel about a book depends on when and where I read it...and what I have been reading.I hope the series gets better for you!

I've read two books but it's now 6pm in Scotland :)
This is my first challenge so please bear with me while I learn the rules and protocol. When we finish a book do we edit our original list or do we create a new post with the update?

I soon figured out that if you go to your last post and click edit, copy and then paste that into the new comment box. then you can make the necessary updates to the post. You have probably figure out how to strike through, bold, underline...but if not, that can be found in the upper right, above the comment box and it says (some html is ok).

Jaime, like Cherra says, just go to your last post and click edit, copy it and then paste it into a new comment and then make any changes. To make this easier for me I usually make a note of the message number of my last post and sometimes (when I remember!) the page number it appears on.Hope that helps :)
Thanks Cherra! I didnt even think about copy and paste. I think you just saved me a lot of wasted time!
I think that some people did start reading right at midnight. I know that I did. But that's pretty easy for me since I work graveyards and I get to listen to audiobooks at work. So, I just listening to some things not on my list until Midnight, and then once midnight came started listening! 2/3rds the way through Fire and loving it!

Hey, use those UF books! We blend the genres around here, LOL.

Kelley Anne!!!!!!!!!Today, I went to the nearest 1/2 price bookstore and found Cry Wolf!!! OMG!!! I got so excited. It is going to be hard not to read it until Jan. I am going to have to really make myself stick to my dec. reading list. When I get done, I will stick to the series on my list.

If not, you'll want to find a copy of it too. Honestly, when I first started reading Cry Wolf, i hadn't read the short story yet and I was a bit lost! It's basically the first part of the other book.
Andrea, did you end up reading Fantasy Lover last month? What did you think? I have not started the second book in the series yet.
Yeah I did and I really liked it. I haven't picked up the next books yet but they are on my list for this month. I keep hearing that the first book doesn't tie in (sigh), but is relivant. I'm curious to see where the series goes from here.
We'll see :)
The only reason that the first book doesn't really tie in is because Julian isn't the same "race" as the rest of the main characters, but you'll still see him throughout the series. It's a great series! One of my fav's!
Oh good, I was thinking Julian wouldn't be in the rest of the books. I can't wait to read the rest of them.
This is more like Dec-Jan for me. I will never get through these that fast! Great idea :)TBR

Good grief Michelle, how have you read three books already? I'm still working on book one that I started at midnight.
Kelley Anne, how did you like Fire? I think I might have liked that one even more than Graceling--and I really liked Graceling. :)
new_user wrote: "Hey, use those UF books! We blend the genres around here, LOL. "
Then I just might! :)
Laura wrote: "Kelley Anne, how did you like Fire? I think I might have liked that one even more than Graceling--and I really liked Graceling. :)"I did really like it. The one real complaint that I had with Graceling is that I felt like there was such a great buildup to "catch the bad guy" and then the conclusion of that story line was anti-climatic. I kinda felt that way about one of the story lines for this one too. I did like the ending to this book lots better than Graceling! Overall, I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next book. Rumor is though that it wont be out for over a year!
