Julieanne (JulieanneUprooted) | 8 comments I'm a teacher/writer who uses her students as muses and target-audience readers.. would love to review some of your books so I can pass them on to my voracious YA readers.

My first book, Uprooted is available on Amazon as an ebook, as well as Lulu.com It's about a town that gets supremely hacked off and turns on the people who live there. It features a culturally diverse cast of characters who simultaneously detest and depend on each other...hmmm...wonder where that idea came from?

Will put your info up on our class website. We're just finishing up a unit on Sci-Fi, so I know they'll be interested.

Leonie (leonierogers) | 43 comments I have a YA Sci-fi book that might be relevant as well if that's helpful. Have to say that a teacher who did a unit on Sci-fi would have been a favourite when I was a student!

It's called Frontier Incursion and is on all the major eBook platforms. No inappropriate content to worry about :)

There's nothing like science fiction to marry critical thinking and out of the box creativity. I am always happy to pass on information to my students.

Leonie (leonierogers) | 43 comments Exactly! There's certainly been a trend to look down on fantasy and sci-fi by some parts of the literary community, as if it's less worthy of being considered literature.

I've always found that somewhat odd. Some of the Sci-fi authors I've read have been amazingly original and creative in their thinking. I'd even go as far as to say that an original world/universe with different social settings requires an author to think in a much more complex way about the interactions between characters.

Yolanda (yolanda_areid) | 7 comments My YA novel is about a young girl growing up in Panama and NY. Here's a synopsis:

PORRIDGE & CUCU: MY CHILDHOOD is the poignant tale of Yamila—from her earliest memories of Panama. One major character is her ninety-eight year old grandfather, who shares with her the ghost stories of his childhood. Other characters are her grandmother, her parents, and her brother.

When Yamila’s mother–a teacher--leaves to attend the University of Missouri, Yamila becomes a boarding student at St. Michael’s School for Girls. She tries to overcome a loneliness she had never
experienced before.

Once her family leaves for the USA (to re-unite with her mother), she re-adjusts to a new school, new relatives, and a new life. At novel’s end, Yamila witnesses an indigenous girl’s rite of passage ceremony, and experiences one herself.

Lina Perry is your average 18 year-old girl from Alaska. She’s into cooking, hanging out with her best friend Jo, and has a passion for rocker Declan Stone. But, has an even stronger passion for the stars.

After graduation, Lina sets out on a mission of self-discovery. Traveling first by plane, she goes to Europe where she will begin her journey. Starting in Belgium where her European family currently resides, she seemingly has everything figured out until she visits the fortuneteller’s tent at the shore market, putting all her plans in a tailspin. Apparently possessed and with no recollection of the occurrence afterward, the woman tells of a traveler who will take a dreadful voyage where “unless the whites align,” they will never come home.

With the woman’s words echoing in her mind, Lina’s thoughts about her said to be fate, consume her. Not knowing what to make of it all, she attempts to let them subside, but still has no idea what her future holds.

She boards her train and falls asleep, but instead of arriving at her planned destination, Lina wakes to find herself alone in a field overcome by heat, confusion, and pain. She wakes up as a tall green figure comes to her rescue, only to lose conciseness again. She rouses in what looks like a hospital, with more questions than answers and in an outlandish predicament. She’ll have to make new friends, adjust to living life underground with no obvious view of her beloved sky, and sort out her mixed feelings and emotions about Luke, the exquisitely beautiful, yet familiar intern of astrophysicist, Dr. Alexander Colt, the creator of this underground domicile, and the unfortunate barer of bad news. She’s not in her world anymore and isn’t going home anytime soon.

She’s been ponged.

Andrew Marr (andrewmarrosb) | 6 comments I happen to be a Benedictine monk in the Episcopal Church & I have written on Benedictine spirituality, but fantasy literature is a lifelong interest of mine & I have published three collections of fantasy short stories aimed at young readers as well as older ones.

The first is a collection of Christmas stories called "Born in the Darkest Time of Year." A choirboy, in two different stories, has to save Christmas twice. A boy desperately wants a unicorn for Christmas, and so it goes.

Then I published "Creatures We Dream of Knowing" where, in each story, a young protagonist encounters one or more allegedly legendary creatures. In each story, personal issues are entwined with the enchantment of these creatures.

Most recently, I published "From Beyond to Here: Merendael's Gift and Other Stories." "Merendael's Gift" is close to novella length, a story that begins when a boy suddenly encounters an incredibly strange creature on the way to school, a creature who wishes to give a gift. Many of the stories that follow are ghost stories that explore themes of redemption from hurt and trauma.

You can look up these titles here on GoodReads or you can look up my blog called "Imaginary Visions of True Peace" at http://andrewmarrosb.wordpress.com Many of my blog entries have to do with spirituality & peace but I also have entries on fantasy fiction which can be looked up. On the pages for each book on the blog site are favorable reviews from Kirkus & I have also posted a sample story from each of these collections.

If what I have written here suggests some fun reading for yourselves and/or the young people in your lives, please check all of these out. Feedback on these stories would be very welcome.

Beth Michele (bethmichelewriter) | 19 comments Hi all,

My new novel Love Love will be released within a month. Here is the synopsis, and I've attached a link as well. It is a Young Adult Mature...

Gabrielle Willis is smart. She's funny. And oh yes, she's a bit klutzy.

When she leaves sunny California bound for the energy of Manhattan, she was willingly leaving the life she had known, for the new life she would create. But was she really leaving something behind, or was she running away.

On the outside Gabrielle Willis has it all under control. A new life in Manhattan, a great roommate, and a good job. But she was haunted. Haunted by a a memory she's tried to forget, and by a family who's abandoned her. But what happens when what's on the outside is only an illusion, and in perfect contradiction to what's buried deep within.

Enter Dane Rhodes. He's gorgeous, smart, and sexy as hell. Just what Gabby wants, or so she thinks. But when she meets Brad Dixon, the sweet guy with the crooked smile, he begins to make her see that the very thing she is trying to run from, is the very thing that just may push her to see the light.

Ramg Vallath (ramgvallath) Hi I have recently released my debut novel, 'Oops the Mighty Gurgle'.

It is a wacky, nutty science fiction. What if a vicious species of green pigs from a far away planet is upset with humanity for playing 'Angry Birds'? what if all that stands between humans and destruction is an evolved pumpkin from planet Unearth?

Peter B Forster (peterbforster) | 20 comments I published my first novel in September. Mr Charalambus and the One Soul. Without fanfare and even less knowledge about social media and marketing. I have struggled to engage with the process of promotion. It has been my nature to allow my personality to work for me but in this virtual world I struggle to know how best to market that. I am unsure about forums and genre discussions, other people seem so much more assured in this setting and I am never convinced I am in the right place at the right time. Anybody else feel like that? My book the first of what has become a trilogy is a genre bender in my view, as it spans parallel worlds, has fantasy characters,a thrilling and mystical quest, romance and spiritual awakening. It has a thread of knowing humour and a nod at the cyclical notion of enduring souls and love. Give it a try I would be very grateful. Mr Charalambus-One_Soul. The best read EVER. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Charalambu...

Chris Breedlove) (chrisstevenson) | 58 comments The War Gate was actually my first YA attempt and so far it's done pretty good. I've since written two others that my agent is shopping.

HOW DOES A WOMAN BECOME FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT JUST BEFORE HER EXECUTION, WHEN SHE'S BEEN IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT FOR 14 YEARS? THE INMATES SCREAM, "IT'S A GHOST LOVER!"

http://www.amazon.com/The-War-Gate-eb......

When the reincarnated Avy Labrador is kicked out of her stepfather’s house on her 18th birthday, she has no idea that the man who raised her framed her mother to cover his murder so he could acquire a major software empire. Now, years later, with the help of her magician boyfriend, Sebastian, Avy is about to discover that her birth was otherworldly and for a purpose. The ancient Roman God Janus was so appalled by the heinous murder of Tom Labrador by his brother Drake that he opened up a War Gate. Avy has received half of her mother’s soul light and half of a God’s essence. Her mission is to put the real killer behind bars. The only catch: she must learn to “Gate-Walk”, that’s time traveling to the layman. She soon finds out that she is a drunk driver on the space/time continuum super highway.

“This was a solidly written tale with a trace of fantasy and complex thought used in defining the concept of leaping from one time gate to the next—excellent job of structuring.”

Terrie G, Bitten by Books, 4 out of 5.

“The War Gate is a captivating book. Mystery, magic and the paranormal blend together in a perfect mix. I would thoroughly recommend this book to fantasy enthusiasts who also like romance.

Orcid, Aurora Reviews, 5 out of 5.

War Gate Author's Note: The antagonist character, Wax Man, is not for the squeamish. I warn you ahead of time that he is the most disgusting, vile creature/human you're ever likely to read about.

Lori Lopez (lorirlopez) | 12 comments Lori R. Lopez

Most of my writing is for both adults and young adult readers.

BOOKS:

An Ill Wind Blows

An Ill Wind Blows by Lori R. Lopez

The witty novel AN ILL WIND BLOWS will whisk you inside the belly of a storm who would be king. There an oddball bunch of nutty characters encounter some of the wildest imaginings of author Lori R. Lopez (DANCE OF THE CHUPACABRAS, CHOCOLATE-COVERED EYES, OUT-OF-MIND EXPERIENCES). Step through the cuckoo clock for a nonstop marathon of the bizarre where anything goes including zombie piranhas, ghosts, an alien, a witch, an axe-wielding elf, mad stalkers, a root monster, and a magic stone. The unique adventure depicts one night when an ordinary person lacking confidence must battle a wicked wind. The stakes are high as she, along with friends and foes, travels through a magical storm world that culminates in a ghost town populated by more than just spirits. This is a story that keeps delivering action and fun throughout. It is more than a single tale in a single genre. The book blends humor with elements of Horror, Paranormal and Fantasy.

the macabre mind of lori r. lopez thirteen tormentous tales

the macabre mind of lori r. lopez thirteen tormentous tales by Lori R. Lopez

A dark and light collection of horror tales from the morbid murky madness of author Lori R. Lopez, along with a poem, an introduction on fear, and a conclusion on why writers write . . . all previously published in anthologies, on websites, or individually as E-books . . . gathered in one spectacularly eerie volume! Horror, humor, and weirdities abound.

Chocolate-Covered Eyes: A Sampler Of Horror

Chocolate-Covered Eyes A Sampler Of Horror by Lori R. Lopez

Dance Of The Chupacabras

Dance Of The Chupacabras by Lori R. Lopez

A dark Wonderlandish "oddyssey" that merges and contrasts elements of humor and horror; fantasy, reality, and literary nonsense; legends, myths, and history; Pop, Mexican, and American Culture; wordplay and swordplay. It is a modern legend, a rumpus of revelrous rompery about being lost and choosing the road least traveled . . . the path unknown. In Tome One of the whimsical epic adventure, a Mexican-American brother duo of folklore dancers and a desert farmer - along with a diverse band of mortals, angels, and ghosts - battle supernatural forces to protect an oracle-princess as well as past, present, and future times from an Aztec serpent god's wrath. WARNING: Contains big words and inventive language.

Out-Of-Mind Experiences

Out-Of-Mind Experiences by Lori R. Lopez

Ever heard the expression don't judge a book by its cover? Well, here's one you can. The cover art (by the author) conveys a fine line between "mad" and "madness". This diverse collection merges an array of genres such as horror and humor, modern and mythic, historic and supernatural. Sometimes gripping, often quirky, these tales are always inventive and thought-inducing. Journey through a broad spectrum of fictional adventures from angry cows to psychotic pets, through portals of terror and gateways of myth and fantasy. There is something for everyone within these pages.

Poetic Reflections: Keep The Heart Of A Child

Poetic Reflections Keep The Heart Of A Child by Lori R. Lopez

With thirteen oft-humorous "Poetic Reflections" columns as a framework for chapters and themes, the author presents a collection of original poems and song lyrics from "a lifetime of versage" — a journey through her soul. The volume features giddy lingual romps, the words to a variety of Folk-Rock ballads, poems from other book projects, witty mullings, and much more. A serious thread running through the book is the topic of Abuse, which the author addresses directly as well as in verse. The collection is thoughtful, unusual, uplifting, and emotional. This is Lori R. Lopez at her gravest and wryly mischievous best.

Marina Latcko | 17 comments Hello everybody,
My debut book Aurora: Secrets behind Reality is a Young Adult novel for teens 14 years and older. The book falls into romance, suspense, mystery, science fiction, adventure, and survival story categories.
This is a real life guide to extraordinary events more fabulous than fables themselves, happening right beside us in present-day Aurora, CO.
If you’ve had enough of vampire series, read and reread all Harry Potter books, but still feel the unquenchable desire to believe and encounter astonishing things—discover them here, as sixteen-year-old Nicole did when she was begged to spy on her best friend’s crush.
This pretty innocuous occupation triggers the chain of such unbelievable events, mysteries, and thrilling twists in Nicole‘s dull life that she realizes the real life is much more fascinating than she’s ever imagined. Her quest for the meaning of life and her place there begins.
You can learn more and read the first four chapters at http://the-aurora-project.com
The entire book is exclusively available at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BKOZVAE
I would be happy to get your feedback and reviews here at GoodReads.

I have a YA-Series based on the idea that a 17 year old girl inherits all of Mother Nature's power. It's about her choice to accept it or not, and about others like her. The book backs for both are posted. Book one, Elementris has been out of a little bit and is getting some great reviews back. Book two, Exposure was just released on the first day of Spring. I'm working on book three, Eruption now. Book one is only 0.99 if you want to check it out. Elementris (The Vangeretta Curse, #1) by Christina Mobley

Exposure (The Vangeretta Curse #2) by Christina Mobley

Also there is a giveaway for a signed paperback for book two. It ends today. :)

Adam Bolander | 25 comments Hey, everybody! My name is Adam Bolander. I've written a YA urban fantasy novel entitled "The Slayer and the Sphinx." It's available in print on Amazon.com and as an ebook on Smashwords.com. Furthermore, for this weekend only it is completely free to download on Smashwords.com.

For thousands of years, mythical creatures have lived alongside humans in secret, driven into hiding by the Slayers. Porter Collins is one such Slayer, only sixteen years old but quickly rising the ranks to become one of the best. Sarah Heisen is a young sphinx whose overprotective parents have never allowed to set foot out of her home. When Sarah's existence is discovered, Porter is ordered to hunt her down and kill her, but a blow to the head leaves him without a clue as to who or what he is. Now both of them are hopelessly lost in the wilderness. If they wish to survive, they must work together.

Alison DeLuca | 2 comments My books are YA steampunk. My niece said she loved stories with loads of adventure and a little bit of romance, and that's what I write.

The Night Watchman Express :

An underground factory, a terrifying laboratory, and the eerie whistle of the Night Watchman Express…

Miriam has only her guardians' son for company, and she and Simon dislike each other from the start. But they must find a way to trust each other, or they will end up on the sinister Night Watchman Express.

Full of danger, suspense, betrayal, and a hint of romance, this steampunk adventure is for readers of all ages.

There are two more in the series, and the fourth is being edited now.

Please feel free to contact me on Goodreads - both readers and authors.

Joy Casey (joycasey) | 3 comments Hi,

My first novel, Betting on Fate, will be available for FREE download starting at midnight tonight (4/7/2013). It falls into the category of YA Romance / Clean Romance.

http://www.amazon.com/Betting-Fate-Se...

Here's the synopsis.

Best friends make bets all the time. But when the stakes involve taking your neighbor’s virginity, it’s never a good idea. Especially when he turns out to be your soul mate.

Charlotte Bowman thought all teenage boys were alike. She had been warned all her life that they were only interested in one thing. Then along came Ryan Taylor, her long lost neighbor. After a terrible car accident claimed his father’s life and seriously injured his mother, Ryan was forced to leave the prestigious Abbot Hall Academy in London and return home to South Carolina. His only intentions were to help his mother with her rehabilitation and take care of his out-of-control younger brother.

Though Charlotte hadn’t talked to Ryan at all during the last six years, and had scarcely spoken with him since he returned home, she couldn’t deny that there was a little chemistry there. On a whim she made a bet with her best friend, Olivia, that she could have sex with Ryan even though it was rumored that he was saving himself for marriage. Being a virgin herself, Charlotte quickly discovered she lacked the finesse needed to seal the deal. She ultimately finds herself stuck in a high stakes poker game where she’s about to lose much more than a bet.

Jump When Ready, Synopsis:

Since he drowned, Henry has remained isolated with the same group of teenagers and he keeps wondering why. After all, what could he possibly have in common with a Mohawk-sporting punker from the 80s, a roller skater from the 70s with a thing for kimonos, and an English “rocker” from the 60s? Add to that, Henry can hear the other groups but he never sees them. Soon, Henry learns that his new friends all possess unique skills for making themselves noticed by the living. Is Henry’s group kept isolated because of their abilities? If so, are they considered gifted or seen only as a potential bad influence?

Before Henry can reach any conclusions, he witnesses his sister being kidnapped. He knows who did it, where she’s being held and what will happen if the kidnappers don’t get what they want. As the police chase false leads, Henry comes to realize that he’s his sister’s only hope. But for Henry to even have a chance, he has to convince a group of teenagers that dead doesn’t mean helpless.

Kevin (khardman) | 26 comments I currently have two books out, the first being "Sensation: A Superhero Novel":

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Sensation-Super...

Description:

Like millions of other kids, Jim grew up wanting to be a superhero. Unlike most of his contemporaries, however, Jim actually had the goods: a plethora of super powers that would have been the envy of any meta on the planet. But when his tryout with the Alpha League - the world's premiere group of supers - goes disastrously wrong, Jim basically becomes an outcast.

Two years later, Jim is still bitter about what happened to him. However, he soon finds himself the centerpiece in an odd turn of events that gives him a second chance at his dream. But nothing is as easy as it sounds, as Jim soon discovers. Among other things, he’s made an enemy of a prospective super teammate, he’s being stalked by an unknown pursuer, and a shadowy cabal bent on world domination has identified him as the only obstacle to their plans.

It’s a lot for one super to handle, even with a smorgasbord of abilities. But if saving the world were easy, everyone would do it…

My other book is "Warden (Book 1: Wendigo Fever)":

Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Warden-Book-Wen...

Description:

Part lawman, part tracker and part magician, the Wardens are monster-hunters - tasked with protecting the people from the various, nightmarish creatures that have invaded the world of men. However, despite being descended from a long line of Wardens, 16-year-old Errol Magnus believes it to be the absolute worst job on the planet: How could a single occupation simultaneously be the most boring, abominably stupid and extraordinarily dangerous profession imaginable?

But when his older brother Tom - the current Warden for their region - goes missing, Errol has no choice but to enter the Badlands, where monsters abide in mind-boggling numbers, to find him. During his search, Errol crosses paths with - and finds himself stalked by - the legendary Wendigo, a monster with preternatural strength and speed, as well as enhanced senses of sight, smell and hearing…and an insatiable hunger for human flesh.

Now Errol must do the impossible and not only escape from the monster (something no one has ever done before), but also avoid the unearthly legacy it leaves on all its victims - a terrifying curse known as Wendigo Fever.

Check out the Biogenes quintent (book 1 currently released and book 2 soon to come) on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Biogenes-The-Ca.... Biogenes: The Castle of Divides
In the quiet reaches of our world, where humans rarely dare to tread and more rarely care to trespass, lie the remnants of a fading world. There rule the mythical beasts, creatures of cunning wit and uncanny power, who hide away the secrets that mankind seems to have forgotten long ago – including that humans possess magic of their own. Yet keeping those secrets comes at a price, and when the agencies charged with protecting them step in, a normal high school girl by the name of Silver Alurian finds herself face-to-face with a sandy-haired, bronze-eyed youth who seems as if he has something to hide. Determined to find out what it is, she follows him deeper into a world of strikingly magnificent magic, forgotten beasts, and scientists bent on reviving dragons from extinction. She soon realizes, however, that nothing about the world of magic is as defined as he seems to believe. Dark forces are moving where humanity’s reach does not extend, and their goals lie sleeping in the shadowed corridors of the Castle of Divides.

Darlene Deluca (darlenedeluca) | 105 comments Hi everyone!
I'm a new indie author writing fiction that crosses a few genres. Mostly, it's fiction with romantic elements, but I was told recently by a high school librarian that one of my novels might appeal to high school girls. So, I'm interested in connecting with those readers.

The book, Unexpected Legacy, is set in a high school, and centers around the female principal, a new student, and his dad. It was also a quarter-finalist in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award! Here's the blurb:

Matt Dalton’s world is spinning off its axis. Without warning, he’s thrown into the world of parenting a teenager. Matt meets his son for the first time when the sixteen-year-old is dealing with the consequences of a tragic car accident. Not only has Brady lost his best friend, he faces disability and scars both physical and emotional.

Determined to do whatever it takes to give his son a second chance, Matt looks to his alma mater to step up and help Brady regain his athletic abilities and sense of self. But sparks fly when he meets the high school principal, the captivating Kate Austen. Kate is ready to take Brady under her wing, but to her that means helping him refocus and find a new passion – using his brains rather than his brawn. Kate fully expects the younger Dalton to come with issues and challenges . . . his father may prove to be the biggest one of all.

Though the chemistry is hard to ignore, Kate fights to keep her personal feelings and professional life separate. At the same time, Matt struggles to gain his son’s trust, and Brady must face the road to recovery and find a way to accept the changes in his life.

Happy reading!

David (davidpercyhoward) | 5 comments Hello everyone. Here’s a teaser for my novel “Light Be Quiet”, available as a Kindle Book at Amazon. I would be tickled to hear any comments…

How much stuff can go through the head of a wide-eyed fifteen year old boy? Gift him with a mother who’s gone mad, a Dad who’s run off, an older brother who operates only at full throttle, and the totally against the grain burden of saving the entire Universe one overt act at a time.
It’s 1962, and his Mama has gone over the edge, and is convinced that the only way to set the world right is for her two boys to stand up for two black boys who have integrated their school. Except Mama’s boys have not grown up for that sort of mission; in fact, they’ve grown up for just the opposite.
But these boys are loyal first to their Mama and the tale that ensues is one of racial struggle, spiritual floundering, and life rich with wildness and the wide open spaces. And one of finding things inside yourself you never knew were there. A serious read, but laced with humor, because our boys are not the brightest and the best. But they are persistent. A tough story, only for strong boys and girls of any age, because it disconcerts: it’s about the stumbling life, where everything is messy and perfect is a far reach. But light is still light, in any amount.

Mary Waibel | 20 comments Hi! I'm Mary Waibel

I recently released my first novel and have a second releasing in August.

Quest of the Hart (A Princess of Valendria Novel) by Mary Waibel
"A reverse Sleeping Beauty tale where the princess goes on the quest to save the prince."

Princess Kaylee has never had to fight for anything. Her entire life has been arranged, even her marriage. But when Prince Devlin falls under an enchantment, she finds she is willing to do anything to save him, even if it means fighting a dragon.

Devlin's own sister, Princess Arabella, is behind the deadly plot. She wants the throne and will use any means necessary. Her perfect plan unravels, leaving Devlin caught in a magical sleep that is slowly spreading through the kingdom of Breniera. All Arabella needs to finish her spell and claim the crown is a drop of Kaylee's blood, but obtaining the single drop is proving more difficult than expected.

To save her betrothed, Kaylee embarks on a quest to find an ancient sword and gather a drop of dragon's blood, while trying to stay out of Arabella's traps. But Arabella's traps aren't the only danger. Time is everything. For once the last inhabitant of the kingdom falls asleep, the spell will be sealed, and not even true love's kiss will break it.

Charmed Memories (A Princess of Valendria Novel) by Mary Waibel
"A prince vows to prove the girl he loves is his missing princess by recovering her lost memories."

Prince Trevor has always placed duty to his kingdom above the desires of his own heart. But when his betrothed is lost at sea, he finds himself torn between honor and love.

After four years of searching for the missing princess, he begins to secretly long for Lady Bri, the Woodland Guide he works with each day. But the law says he must marry a princess, and Bri is barely a noble.

When Trevor learns that Bri shipwrecked at the same time and place as the princess, he begins to believe he has finally found his bride-to-be. But his happiness is short lived. Bri has no memory of her past, and the princess wasn't the only girl who disappeared from the ship.

Desperate to prove Bri is his princess, Trevor unwittingly places the two of them in grave danger. Buried in Bri's memories are deadly secrets someone wants kept from the light of day, and learning who she is may cost more than either is willing to pay.

Plan Z by Leslie Kove

Here's the last review:

"Nothing makes for a more absorbing story than a great main character. Leslie Kove is as entertaining as a protagonist can hope to be. . . . Robinson’s writing style is very entertaining and fun to read, but there’s also a subtle underlying depth to her main character. In between all the laughs and unusual situations, the reader gets to see there’s more to Leslie than meets even her own eye."
