John Jr. (arievlex) | 30 comments Hi all,

I recently released my indie debut fantasy novel THE DRAGON STRATAGEM, SOUL BLASTER. Here is the description:

In a world where dragons and humans have coexisted with an uneasy peace for thirty thousand years, the Dragon King devises a plan to destroy humanity. The ancient ancestors of the dragons accidentally create the humans during a final battle for the planet with a horrifying creature they also have accidentally created. The dragons defeat the horrible creature, but in the following hundreds of thousands of years they war with the humans and eventually make a tentative peace. The dragon egg trade allows the humans to have dragons as companions and the dragons of the dragon lands get magical minerals that the humans mine in return.

Now the dragons have had enough of the dragon egg trade and the Dragon King demands that the humans hand over their beloved princess or face all out war. Massive battles ensue and the world will be rocked by wars as never before. The fate of humanity hangs in the balance, and the father of the princess that the dragons want must overcome his cowardice and rise to the challenge of the Dragon Stratagem!

If this sounds like your thing, check it out on my website www.arievlex.com/THE_DRAGON_STRATAGEM... it is indie published on http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Stratage...

Enjoy!

Kevin (khardman) | 26 comments I currently have two books out, the first being "Sensation: A Superhero Novel":

Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Sensation-Super...

Description:

Like millions of other kids, Jim grew up wanting to be a superhero. Unlike most of his contemporaries, however, Jim actually had the goods: a plethora of super powers that would have been the envy of any meta on the planet. But when his tryout with the Alpha League - the world's premiere group of supers - goes disastrously wrong, Jim basically becomes an outcast.

Two years later, Jim is still bitter about what happened to him. However, he soon finds himself the centerpiece in an odd turn of events that gives him a second chance at his dream. But nothing is as easy as it sounds, as Jim soon discovers. Among other things, he’s made an enemy of a prospective super teammate, he’s being stalked by an unknown pursuer, and a shadowy cabal bent on world domination has identified him as the only obstacle to their plans.

It’s a lot for one super to handle, even with a smorgasbord of abilities. But if saving the world were easy, everyone would do it…
___________________________________________________________________

My other book is "Warden (Book 1: Wendigo Fever)":

Kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Warden-Book-Wen...

Description:

Part lawman, part tracker and part magician, the Wardens are monster-hunters - tasked with protecting the people from the various, nightmarish creatures that have invaded the world of men. However, despite being descended from a long line of Wardens, 16-year-old Errol Magnus believes it to be the absolute worst job on the planet: How could a single occupation simultaneously be the most boring, abominably stupid and extraordinarily dangerous profession imaginable?

But when his older brother Tom - the current Warden for their region - goes missing, Errol has no choice but to enter the Badlands, where monsters abide in mind-boggling numbers, to find him. During his search, Errol crosses paths with - and finds himself stalked by - the legendary Wendigo, a monster with preternatural strength and speed, as well as enhanced senses of sight, smell and hearing…and an insatiable hunger for human flesh.

Now Errol must do the impossible and not only escape from the monster (something no one has ever done before), but also avoid the unearthly legacy it leaves on all its victims - a terrifying curse known as Wendigo Fever.

Shannon Peel (shannonpeel) | 34 comments Three of six novellas of my character driven epic romantic fantasy series are free for download here on good reads. The story of Logan and Margaret starts in Journeys in Eladonia the Soldier when her father asks him to escort her on a journey through the mountains. Logan has been around selfish, shallow, spoiled women his whole life and is sick of all women. She is a seer for the Church of Balla sworn to celibacy. Will they be able to overcome the interference of family, friends, society, values, and powerful men to find love with each other?

The Seer and the Sell Sword are the next two free installments of their story. The fate of their relationship is decided in the Sell Sword but their story is far from finished.

I am in the process of writing a longer more complex novel for publication at market value. I will send a free issue when its complete to those who email me feedback or links to their online reviews.

Crea S. Ward (creasward) | 8 comments Friends and readers,

If you believe there is no magic left in this world, I would love to take you on an adventure to prove otherwise. Check out the Biogenes quintent (book 1 currently released and book 2 soon to come) on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Biogenes-The-Ca.... Royalties will all be donated to the Morris Animal Foundation.

Biogenes: The Castle of Divides
In the quiet reaches of our world, where humans rarely dare to tread and more rarely care to trespass, lie the remnants of a fading world. There rule the mythical beasts, creatures of cunning wit and uncanny power, who hide away the secrets that mankind seems to have forgotten long ago – including that humans possess magic of their own. Yet keeping those secrets comes at a price, and when the agencies charged with protecting them step in, a normal high school girl by the name of Silver Alurian finds herself face-to-face with a sandy-haired, bronze-eyed youth who seems as if he has something to hide. Determined to find out what it is, she follows him deeper into a world of strikingly magnificent magic, forgotten beasts, and scientists bent on reviving dragons from extinction. She soon realizes, however, that nothing about the world of magic is as defined as he seems to believe. Dark forces are moving where humanity’s reach does not extend, and their goals lie sleeping in the shadowed corridors of the Castle of Divides.

Mary Meddlemore (marymeddlemore) | 15 comments Forever After - A Dimensional Love Story

Something totally different! Classified under "fantasy" but it is true! :) It really happened! As one reviewer put it: "Charlie Kaufman would feel quite at home with this story that like many of his scripts explores the boundaries between reality and fiction and celebrates the power of stories and imagination. Like in `Enchanted' fairy tales and reality mix with wonderful results."

Keith | 10 comments Hi! I'm Keith Yatsuhashi. Musa Publishing just released my debut novel, Kojiki. It's a fantasy loosely based on Japanese myth--think Percy Jackson for grown-ups, or, if you prefer, Godzilla meets anime/manga/Shogun! :) Kojiki is available as an ebook from Amazon, MusaPublishing.com, iTunes, Barnes and Noble, and other e-book sellers.

Here's the blurb:

When eighteen-year-old Keiko Yamada’s father dies unexpectedly, he leaves behind a one way ticket to Japan, an unintelligible death poem about powerful Japanese spirits and their gigantic, beast-like Guardians, and the cryptic words: “Go to Japan in my place. Find the Gate. My camera will show you the way.”

Alone and afraid, Keiko travels to Tokyo, determined to fulfill her father’s dying wish. There, beneath glittering neon signs, her father’s death poem comes to life. Ancient spirits spring from the shadows. Chaos envelops the city, and as Keiko flees its burning streets, her guide, the beautiful Yui Akiko, makes a stunning confession--that she, Yui, is one of a handful of spirits left behind to defend the world against the most powerful among them: a once noble spirit now insane. Keiko must decide if she will honor her father’s heritage and take her rightful place among the gods.

Excerpt:

Seirin waited for them to move away before ordering the attack. She raised her hand and stepped back as Roarke’s thoughts swept into the basin. His power burrowed into the Earth. The ground along the shore tore free with a loud crack. Whole sections pulled away from the land, dragging soil and ocean into a fissure that stretched for miles. Water met magma and rocketed back to the surface as pressurized steam.

Vissyus’s volcano responded with a thunderous explosion. Towering flames roared into the morning sky. Wind carried the horrific echoes of land collapsing, of liquefying rock and air igniting.

Seirin’s gaze fixed on the volcano’s ruined crown. A burning sphere lifted out of it, a sun-fire orb, intensely bright and hot enough to melt the caldera to its roots. Two smaller orbs followed Vissyus into the sky, blazing red to his left, arctic blue to his right.

Fire raced from the dying island, leaping over the cracked shoreline and dropping onto the plains like firebombs. The earth withered and the seas boiled. Fiyorok landed in a flash of red-and-gold light. Akuan followed several hundred yards to the south, coating the ground with ice. Guarded mountains fell, the pools Seirin protected turned to vapor…

I have a couple more excerpts up on my blog: kmyatsuhashi.wordpress.com.

In my professional life, I'm Director of the U.S. Dept. of Commerce office in Providence, RI and work on our Global Publishing Team. I'll be at BEA for the 8th time. Like other authors here, I'm always looking for reviewers. So, if you're so inclined, please PM me! Thanks.

Dani Collins (danicollins) | 13 comments This one is for Fantasy Romance Readers, or those who like Medieval Historical Romance with a hint of paranormal.

I mostly write HQ Presents, but the hero, Vaun, from The Healer came to me a few years ago--leapt off a cliff into my imagination and demanded I find him his one true love.

You can read excerpts on my blog, download a map, reading guide and character guide... I wanted to make it as fun as possible for readers and book clubs.

Here's the blurb:

After escaping Shote oppression, the Kerf people only want peace, but unrest brews as Shotes expand into the Kerf's hard-won territory. Vaun, a Kerf General, is patrolling the badlands when he frees a Kerf captive from his enemies--only to discover she's not Kerf at all.

Atadia is Alvian, one of the mysterious race of healers driven out of Kerfdom by Vaun's ancestors. Vaun's first touch tells her he's a Latent, not as strong as a full-blooded Alvian, but a possible mate for her. If she could bring herself to lie with any man, especially a superstitious Kerf, she could fulfill her vows and save her dwindling race.

Athadia's touch promises a kind of healing that has eluded Vaun all his life, but he has broken treaty and started a war he was meant to avert. His King expects him to kill her.

He can't bring himself to do it.

Reviewers, I do have a couple of giveaway e-copies if this looks like your cup of tea.

Brian Clopper Ned Firebreak

This is a review request to take a look at my new fantasy novel: Ned Firebreak.

The book presents a different angle on why dragons abduct fair maidens. It features a young would-be dragonslayer, Ned, who isn't quite sure what he's doing thanks to waking up from a coma with many of his key memories missing.

It features a nuanced cast of princesses that befuddle Ned with gobs of glorious challenges. Thanks to his memory loss, he doesn't know his history with each, but is certain he has some sort of history with most if not all. He's drawn to Lil and, unfortunately, the ice princess Stacia.

Ned must find his missing memories, his missing father, and just why he rounds up damsels to live on a princess reservation as well as foil a plot to bring unspeakable evil to the Eight Kingdoms.

Joined by a rowdy crop of characters, a talking tree with evil leanings, a pun wizard named Fairbanks, and his resolute Aunt Nance and her chatty sword, Mink, Ned must sort out his relationships with the four princesses before one of them does him in permanently.

I would love to send you a mobi file so you could read the book on your Kindle.

Let me know if this sounds up your alley.

Emma Faragher | 31 comments Hello,

My name is emma and I write (and read) urban fantasy. I have the first book in my series published; the House (Trix SinClara series).

links can be found on my blog http://www.trixsinclara.blogspot.co.uk/. It's available on amazon, smashwords, nook and apple, and wherever else smashwords publishes to. Although I wouldn't recommend buying from apple as they round their prices up to the next 99 cents or 99p.

Blurb:

Shifters are going missing.

Trix has always been part of the very ordered and very rule orientated supernatural community. Secrecy is everything. But life is starting to come apart at the seams, between growing magic and being attacked by vampyre she can't just take the world at face value anymore. Then shifters start to disappear without a trace and Trix is left in charge of the House, where wayward shifters go for comfort and control.

The witches won't help and rules are changing. There is more at stake than any of them realise and the House may just become the centre of the biggest disaster the supernatural community has ever seen. It all seems to be up to them and Trix has more to deal with than she ever thought possible.

My novel Nevermore - A Novel of Love, Loss & Edgar Allan Poe - is just out in HC / Paperback / Audiobook and all eBook formats. It has magic, The Great Dismal Swamp, a nod to The Brothers Grimm, Edgar - of course - and Lenore - a Raven (where would such a book be without him?)

Nevermore on Amazon.com

On the banks of Lake Drummond, on the edge of The Great Dismal Swamp, there is a tree in the shape of a woman.

One dark, moonlit night, two artists met at The Lake Drummond Hotel, built directly on the borderline of North Carolina and Virginia. One was a young woman with the ability to see spirits trapped in trees and stone, anchored to the earth beyond their years. Her gift was to draw them, and then to set them free. The other was a dark man, haunted by dreams and visions that brought him stories of sadness and pain, and trapped in a life between the powers he sensed all around him, and a mundane existence attended by failure. They were Eleanore MacReady, Lenore, to her friends, and a young poet named Edgar Allan Poe, who traveled with a crow that was his secret, and almost constant companion, a bird named Grimm for the talented brothers of fairy-tale fame.

Their meeting drew them together in vision, and legend, and pitted their strange powers and quick minds against the depths of the Dismal Swamp itself, ancient legends, and time.

Once, upon a shoreline dreary, there was a tree. This is her story.

J.A. Edwards | 5 comments Hello, I have just recently released the first book of my new series about a subject I truly love, dragons.

The Dragon Inside

On the planet of Naronna, Brie was a simple bakery owner who kept to herself. No one suspected her to be a runaway from a powerful royal family from Malta. Her life was about to change when that dragon inside of her no longer was content to remain dormant.

Brie’s real name is Brieanika, and she holds several royal titles on two separate planets. Since she ran away she managed to live her life the way she liked for over a thousand years, but it had all come to an end. Royal guards were sent to retrieve her so she could learn how to control the dragon and to become one with it. Though she dreaded returning to the life that she didn’t know, she had no choice but to join her people and fulfill her destiny.

In this exciting fantasy tale, accompanied by Trace, her Sentinel, and a few friends, Brie rediscovers her heritage, stumbles through her new life within the royal court, and learns what it really means to be a dragon. While doing all of that, she must continue to do everything in her power to thwart the plans of the person intent on ending her life.

I hope you check it out.

Michael Hibbard (arkangyl) | 5 comments Greetings All, my name is Michael Hibbard and I am an author with Phantasm Books. I had previously self-published Waking Dream: Devlin back in February, but it was immediately picked up by a publisher, so its now out of stock until this summer. I keep a very active blog, and I have lots of information about the upcoming books in the series as well as the other projects I am working on.

In addition to the Waking Dream Series, which is very dark fantasy, with elements of horror interwoven throughout, I am also working on a southern gothic novel set in New Orleans called The Ageless Scholar, which is more literature with a smattering of voodoo and the paranormal.

I have actually been working on the Waking Dream Universe for about 15 years. It is the product of the many years I’ve spent studying religion, philosophy, cosmology and Quantum Mechanics. I wanted to write a series of novels that blurred all the lines between what is real and what is not, because when you really get down to it — can you actually describe reality? How do you know that what you are seeing is real? And, what if we had an innate ability to change it?

The Waking Dream is the universe — a place where we are free to create whatever we want and make our lives whatever we want. There are three types of beings in my universe — Dreamers, Sleepers and Immortals.

Dreamers are those of us who have the ability to use a primordial force known as the Weird — which is just my distillation of all the nebulous concepts that from throughout history such as the Tao, the Holy Spirit, the Akashic Record, the Force. It is the clay from which we mold the world. Dreamers have an ability called Weirdness, which allows them to affect the world around them in a very similar way to magick. But, a Dreamer cannot begin to use this ability until they realize that they are a Dreamer. They come into the world through a form of reincarnation. This is where the Sleepers come in.

Sleepers are merely those that have no ability to change the world around them. They breed and spread like the rest of the animals in the world, and their purpose is to fulfill the will of the Dreamers. And, they serve as reincarnation vessels for the Dreamers. When a Dreamer dies, they return to my form of the afterlife known as the Spaces Between. From there, they choose a Sleeper they wish to inhabit, and forget all of their previous lives [except at a subconscious level] and begin life all over again, trying to Awaken their Weirdness. Think of it as assuming a character in a game, yet you don’t know you are playing a game. And once you Awaken, you realize that there is something much more profound behind it all — Immortality.

All Dreamers are innately Immortal in spirit. A Dreamer can become Immortal and once that happens, they no longer forget who they are when they die and return. The bodies of the Sleepers are not Immortal, only the Dreamer soul that inhabits them. But, when they die, they can return and remember all of their experiences from past lives, and command greater control over the Weird.

The Waking Dream is the entire universe. Earth is special because it was the first planet in the universe to become inhabited by Dreamers. But there are countless other worlds where Dreamers and Immortals exist. However, Immortals are bound to their home planet — the place where they first became Immortal. And once the Earth is gone, they will be free to explore other worlds, but they’ll begin the process of becoming Immortal all over again.

I hope this gives you enough information to decide if the Waking Dream series intrigues you enough to follow me on this journey — perhaps awaken and see the dream for yourself.

Eddie Davis (ecdavis1966) | 3 comments Well, I'm new here and I don't have a book for sale on Amazon or through a publishing house, but I do have two novels and a short story on-line. All are set in a fantasy world called Synomenia. The two novels deal with a dark elf girl raised by humans who has to quickly grow up and assume responsibilities when her adopted father dies and her town is threatened by the shadowy Necromancer's Guild. The two completed novels are the first two books in the 'Chronicles of Aurei' series and I'm currently working on the third.
I'm not sure if they are of the caliber of the works i have seen mentioned here, but they are free to read at : http://www.booksie.com/ecdavis

Philip Dodd (philipdodd) | 67 comments Hello, everyone. My book, Angel War, was published on Tuesday, 23rd, April, 2013 by Fast Print Publishing.
Here is the blurb I wrote for its back cover:
From an early age, Azel, the Prince of the White Castle of the Angels of Light, plans what he calls his great rebellion against the Father. After his self transformation into a four legged, scaled beast, he names himself the Dragon. At the head of his rebel angel army and his dragon flocks, he brings war to the angel lands. His intention is to dethrone the Father and rule in his place. Khem, the Child of the White Mountain, vows upon his Silver Sword to be his slayer. The lonely, perilous path of the dragonslayer, he takes. At its end, he stands alone, to challenge the Father's foe to combat.
Inspired by Chapter Twelve of the Book of Revelation, which speaks of the war in heaven, fought between Michael and his angels and the dragon and his angels, my story is my attempt to give a history of that war and its aftermath. Though it is rooted in The Bible, I think that some readers of fantasy fiction may find it interesting. It is essentially the biography of the one who became known on Earth as Lucifer, the Devil, Satan. All the evil ones in fantasy fiction, from Melkor in The Silmarillion and Sauron in The Lord of the Rings, both by J.R.R. Tolkien, to Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter books were inspired by the figure of Satan, the original fallen angel, first rebel and dark master. My story also relates my version of the origin and history of dragons, those creatures long loved by myths, legends and fantasy fiction.

Sarah Avory (sarahjaneavory) | 21 comments Hi everyone! I'm Sarah Jane Avory. I self-published a fantasy book about witches and talking cats The Spirit of A Witch on 22nd May 2013:

"Ever wondered what it would be like to truly understand a cat, every last meow, every narrowed glance? When Briley Forester, a shy recluse and gifted games programmer, is torn from our world and dumped into the village of Maepole, she finds out the hard way. Trapped within a harsh world without technology, she discovers that being a witch is hard, and that her grouchy black cat Smokey knows more about men than she does...

Tricked into working as a lowly delivery girl, her only chance to return home is to discover the secrets of an ancient grimoire, to fully embrace the powers of witchcraft. Suffering from crippling self-doubt, she must defeat her shyness and build lasting friendships with the villagers. And rediscover herself.

But the way home is fraught with heartache and danger, love and despair. The powerful Whitehead family, haters of witches, will stop at nothing to be rid of her. And lurking within the forest, the dark spirit lies in wait, ready to strike..."

James | 3 comments Hello, My name is James Kafka and my new book is titled "Warfolkan", Fantasy, action/adventure, drama, romance, and mystery all rolled together. It starts out as a boy's coming of age story that develops into much more when he meets a mysterious woman, and that's where the story really takes off. Many of the odd words and names in the book come directly from my Polish roots.

The word "Warfolkan" comes from my dungeons and dragons playing days. The story takes place in a world that took me over 30 years to create, and gives me the leverage to write many more stories.

The deeper you go into the book the more it reads like a good old fashion D&D adventure with numerous plot twist and turns. Although I didn't use an over-abundance of magic or monsters, and focused more on the story.

It's my second book. The first one was Warfolkan: Casualties of Truth. But in the second book I just added 17 more chapters, making Warfolkan a more complete novel. My goal is to make it an on going set of continuing stories.

http://www.warfolkan.net/

My favorite quote from the book, “In absence of youth, blissful adolescence fades, conceding to more sagacious thoughts. Perchance a white snake shall crown your head with wisdom to appreciate and to revere the numerous mysteries in the world.”

I hope some of you will give it a read, as well as I will be looking forward to reading some of the books I find posted here.

Kathleen Esther | 7 comments Good morning to all. I'm a new blogger--not getting too good at it yet due to time constraints but I have set up an "auto-blog" for my book The Metatronic Chronicles and am generally posting a chapter a day there. This is located at http://metatronicchronicles.tumblr.com (start with the oldest posts and work your way forward). If you like what you read, you don't have to wait--I also published the whole thing as a free ebook here so you can download and read.

I have been writing since I was around 16 years old (I'm waay older than that now) but this was my first book, which I self-published a few years ago. However I never really have done much with promoting it so it's basically brand new for everyone else. I've never had my work READ by anyone before so I 'm looking for constructive critiques, not just "readers". If response is positive and interest is shown...guess what, I have FOUR MORE in the series, three in editing, one in actual writing. Guess which one I enjoy doing the most--right, the WRITING so the editing is a real slog in the mud! LOL!

If you enjoy fantasy with a somewhat twisted sense of humor, give it a try---you never know, you might actually like it!

By the way, all of my books are set in east central Wisconsin--I live in Oshkosh, spent a lot of time in Madison too, so both show up as backdrop quite a bit.

A little about the story:

In the Metatronic universe, Heaven and Hell are located in a spatial void that exists outside of what we understand to be our universe. Angelic assignment outside of this "Void" is a plum job as it involves the populating of entire planets, which gives angels the utmost freedom to wander.

Michael and Daniel Wilder are normal teenage boys who live in a small Wisconsin town, trying to keep up with school, meet girls, play their music and keep their parents off their backs. When an unexpected tragedy whisks them off into the lives they are destined for before they are ready, they find themselves in a fantastic world of angels, swordplay and adventure.

However, with school still needing to be attended to, a baby on the way and being expected to fulfill new responsibilities, life becomes very complicated. To top it off, the new baby just happens to be Metatron, creator of the universes, chief of all angels and a general pain in the ass.

Kristofer Young | 5 comments Hello Everyone!

My name is Kristofer and I recently self-published a book on Amazon called The War of Virtue.

It covers a story about the war between angels and demons, as they struggle to control the future of mankind. Both sides are fueled by the deeds of people, when they are good, angels are born and likewise when they are evil, demons are born. Around every century, there is a battle fought as the angels try to prevent the demons from crossing into the mortal realm. Mortals are called to help protect their realm while the angels are assembled.

To give you a brief synopsis:

What if you discovered there was a war being waged over humanities existence? That this war was fueled by the deeds of men? Daniel soon learns the truth and finds more than he bargained for when he is suddenly thrust into the middle of this conflict. He, and many others like him, joins angels who are defending a fortress, the last line of defense that protects a portal which grants passage to the mortal plane of existence…our realm. They must stand together against an army of demons trying to cross over and wreck havoc on humanity. Daniel and his allies face tough battles ahead as their strength is pushed to the limit and their courage is tested. Can the human race survive or will they be destroyed by their own demons?

I hope you take a look and enjoy the story!

Richard | 2 comments I am Richard James Bentley, and I am the author of 'Greenbeard', a rollicking farrago of rotten lies, unproven theories, dubious assumptions, pompous opinions and cold hard truth, set in a time when several assorted centuries have been mashed up together for the sake of my convenience (and to avoid doing proper research) and embellished with both pirates AND aliens.

I am not sure that 'fantasy' is the correct genre for my novel. It's like the legendary textbook 'How To Make Replicas Of Ancient Egyptian Wooden Clocks'. Where does the librarian put it? Carpentry? Horology? Egyptology? Crafts and hobbies? That, in essence, is the 'Library Problem'. Same with 'Greenbeard', it's such a collision of genres that it's difficult to say where it ought to go.

However, if you lovely Goodreads people people read it I am sure you will not be shy about telling me where to put it!

Although I mainly wrote 'Greenbeard' to showcase my inner beauty, my cleverness, my wisdom and my wit, I am capable of multitasking so I also tried to make it GREAT FUN and a GRIPPING YARN. I do hope that I have achieved those aims, and that you are most congenially entertained when you read it.

Any takers? These are the books in the series to date...

I'm Cathy Spencer, and my short story collection, "Tall Tales Twin-Pack, Science Fiction & Fantasy," is free today on Amazon.

"Your Daughter is Marrying an Alien" (originally published by Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, November 2011) is set in the year 2080. Simple farmer Lloyd Hodgkin suddenly learns from his wife, Dorothy, that their only child is engaged, and not to the boy-next-door.

"Willimede's Quest" is the story of a young female guard on a quest to find an elixir that will keep her queen alive. Pursued by hunters, she seeks sanctuary at a king's castle, where she must convince him that she is who she says she is. But the mystical object she possesses may be enough to buy her safety.
