PattyMacDotComma | 272 comments Last November, The Sunbird, by Lebanese-Australian author Sara Haddad, was one of the five books sent to the 227 Australian MPs and senators to read over the summer break as part of a non-partisan effort to give background on the Israel-Palestine conflict. I suspect my view of this one won't be popular.

I finished listening to:

Cross My Heart by Megan Collins and it’s quite a twisty story.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 593 comments Someone We Know by Shari Lapena
Someone We Know – Shari Lapena – 4****
This was a taut mystery / thriller. Several characters revealed themselves to be unreliable. They were lying to their families, friends, neighbors, and the police. I was sure I had it figured out but was completely surprised by the actual reveal. And the ending gives the reader another mystery to ponder and wonder about.

PattyMacDotComma | 272 comments I was recently tickled to discover how entertaining A Man With One of Those Faces is. It's the first book in Caimh McDonnell's Dublin Trilogy, which is now 8 books long! I'd heard it was fun, but I'd feared it was just hype.
