Spins for July 9Sue - NW
Sabrina - N
Ellen - SE
Jen - NE
Linda C - E
Joy D - E
Olivermagnus - N
Theresa - W
Jen K - SW
Holly - NW
Nancy J - SE
It seems to me that some of you had difficult spins so I will be interested to see where you go next,
I'm using one of my free passes to go SE. Work is so intrusive these days into my reading time, I need to consolidate challenge reads. So, even though I have a book to read if I go West, I need to combine my Play Harder and The Compass reading and that is taking me SE to Philadelphia, PA from Port Thompson WA.

Too bad we couldn’t trade! My SE for your W

😂. That actually did cross my mind!!!
Oh NE will point me in the direction of my Trim the TBR list read for this month, so it's double encouragement to get that one read.
Jen wrote: "Oh NE will point me in the direction of my Trim the TBR list read for this month, so it's double encouragement to get that one read."I'm glad the spin worked out well for you!
I will definitely be using a free ticket to head Northwest as Puerto Rico proved to be as East as I could go with my US trip.
The spinner is laughing at me, determined to send me in the one direction I have nothing I need to read in the short term in the limited time I have. I will have to ponder things a bit before deciding what to do. Particularly annoying given I had more than one direction my upcoming reading needs would fit!
I wish I could find more speculative fiction in my spin locations this month. This week the spinner is leading me to a classic I always meant to read, but never quite wanted to read. Waiting for the Barbarians.
BnB - I'm sticking with my direction of SW - I've managed to swap in a book in the right direction for one of my few Play Harder prompts that I need to finish to get a new list in time for August Prompt Swap. And the book I now will read is a faster read than the one I was planning to read being a cozy mystery. Picture me sticking my tongue out at the spinner! 😜
I am trying to figure out what it is I am going to do, I have 1 more free ticket that I may end up using-South is not going to work for me right now.
Joanne wrote: "I am trying to figure out what it is I am going to do, I have 1 more free ticket that I may end up using-South is not going to work for me right now."I'd suggest just waiting a week for another spin. Something may surface in between and also the direction might be better.
I have already wasted a week, not sure I want to wait another. I have 2 books that are on my "currently reading" list that I have not picked up yet, and both are pretty much in the Northeast. You know my luck in these things, Theresa-NE will never come up for me because it is useful to me!

You k..."Well the spinner has been sneering at me in much the same way. But this week I have manage to out wit it! Doesn't get me any extra points or much milage, but it does fit one of my 3 remaining PH prompts on my 2nd list which I am looking to finish ASAP, and does not add to the number of books I need to read in next couple of weeks. Bonus: I own it.

Why not post a request for suggestions on the discussion thread. I know our tastes don’t overlap a great deal, lot but there has got to be something good (and short) south of Kansas.
Thanks Nancy, but I think I am going to Cleveland. I have a book a need to get done for another challenge,
Joanne, my ears perked up when you said Cleveland, since that's where I live. What book are you considering reading?

I am going to use one of my tickets to go W (to Seattle) so that I can use the book I just finished because I am struggling to find a book as there is not much more than Canadian Wilderness to the North of my current location.
Holly R W wrote: "Joanne, my ears perked up when you said Cleveland, since that's where I live. What book are you considering reading?"I started The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread
Joanne, I hope you like it. I see that it's considered a classic and was written by Don Robertson. It's a name that's familiar to me. Way back when, I remember reading his columns in our city's newspaper. While you're visiting Cleveland for Compass, stop on by. I'd love to see you!

Maybe next time I will see if you are going to be around, and I will be her co-pilot
Oh, and Holly, it is a very short and quick read. Quite a simple writing style, but it is keeping me amused. The POV is a 9-year-old boy, and I am channeling when I was 9 and remembering my 4th grade class and "the idiot boys".
So, I was an idiot and misremembered my direction. I want to use my last free spin and go NE. (change my NW to NE)
My review is up, and I am ready for a spin tomorrow.Note: I used my last free spin and changed directions to go NE.
