The Compass Spins and Requests
So excited!!! This morning when I should have been sleeping I sneaked into my kids room to take a look at the globe! I mean he is away at Camp, it wasn't that ridiculous. I must see what is Northwest from Cyprus!!!! I shall look right this instant and then make dinner and continue watching S3, E1 of the Gilded Age...
For anyone who is curious, what is NW of Cyprus? Italy, Paris, and UK. Anyone who knows me, knows my TBR is filled with this... So excited to look....
I'm going to use a free ticket to trade my Southwest to West and go from Rhodes, Greece to St. Louis, Missouri.https://www.mapdevelopers.com/distanc...

I too am ready for my next spin on Wednesday Aug 13. I'm writing up my review etc. now.ETA: everything is posted!

Not sure I will keep N - I have a couple of studly dog crime fiction books I want to read so might just use a pass and then earn it right back!

Add me to the Wednesday spins! I am hoping that the Spinner gives me a lovely present of a spin, fitting one of the mysteries I have lined up to read in the next 2 or 3 weeks as that's the day after my birthday (which is August 19) and it is a really major one. In some ways THE major one, at least in the US! Hopefully the Spinner embraces giving good direction birthday gifts!
I think West might bring me to Chicago, Seattle, maybe even California or China. There are a lot of choices around the 40th Parallel North. I have something for all of them, so I’m very happy.

I think so too, Fran. 3 of my last 5 spins have been South! LOL

I came up with quite a few sites when I typed Texas mystery
https://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/...

Well, East does not fit the books I have in hand to read at the moment - SE would fit 2 of them. But East may be doable once I look -- I am leaving from the far north of Scotland - Nairn - and that hits Denmark, the tips of Norway and Sweden, across Latvia etc and Russia, Mongolia, then on to a bit of China etc. The Crime Fiction I have to read right now are Cairo and Tokyo - both SE of Nairn. Since I have 4 free passes, I will likely use one but I have a Chinese crime fiction I'd like to check - it might fit and I'd love to read it finally! Though I would have to borrow it from the library since I have no idea what in tower or shelf the hardcover I own is located. I'm sure that's more than anyone needed to hear. But you did ask BnB!
Thanks for the lists, Fran! They are great and I will certainly be using them if I get stuck in Texas again.

The Dogs of Riga by Mankell is East. It’s set in Riga Latvia, and Ystad Sweden.
Best Swedish crime

Thank You! I am finally getting back to the Northern hemisphere. This might even bring me to New York.
