Completely agree with your review. I've read a few of these out of order, and enjoyed every one of them. The writing, the setting, the family dynamics, the interactions between Brunetti and his superiors, the interactions between Brunetti and his team and those outside the team who contribute, all of it is excellent, well-observed and well-presented. Leon is just an excellent writer.

The Boy Who Never Grew Up by David Handler

Stewart Hoag #5. Nobody gets murdered until almost halfway through the book, but it's still a cute light mystery set in Hollywood in the early 1990's. I like the series and I liked this one -- 3 stars.

But the author knows her stuff, and she's given us two personable protagonists, a lot of London atmosphere, and enough well-orchestrated action to keep you pleasantly occupied for a few hours.
