The Six by Loren Grush - was definitely not expecting to have a nonfiction book on my fave list, but wow she writes it like a fiction novel and it's so good!

The a good girls guide to murder trilogy really made me get back into reading, so I would probably say those three books!
I read Throne of Glass this year so Kingdom of Ash has been my number one. But so many of these are so great!! And I just added a bunch to my TBR!
So far it's a tough choice between four books. The Great Big Demon Hunting Agency by Peter Oxley, Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes, All Systems Red: The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells and Welcome To Neverbury by Chris Lynch.
I have 2 favourites from this year : Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Song of the forever rains by E. J. Mellow.
They both start out slow in the beginning and since they're both fantasy, it takes a while to get into it, but once you do it's hard to put them down!
Both are slowburn, romantasy. Highly recommend!!
This was an overall great reading year for me so far, but I think If We Were Villians is taking the cake in categories for more mature fiction. I also reread the whole first Percy Jackson series and now I'm insufferable for my family and friends with my nonstop praises for uncle Rick's writing. ✨
Omg hands down, Some Kind of Magic by Sonya Moore. It's the best biographical transformational memoir since Eat Pray Love and Wild. Some Kind of Magic heals the soul!
Frankenstein and The Night Circus.Frankenstein is an amazing book because it explores profound themes of scientific ethics, the consequences of unchecked ambition, and the complexities of human nature through a captivating and timeless narrative.
The Night Circus is an amazing book because it weaves a spellbinding and enchanting tale of love, magic, and mystery within a uniquely imaginative and beautifully crafted world and such a spellbinding writing style.
It is Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross. YA fantasy with such an interesting universe and CRUSHING story ! can't wait for the sequel !
"The Short End of the Sonnenallee" -- it just made me laugh. A lot. Kid humor within hard conditions -- something like "The Book Thief."
Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig. I was lucky enough to get an ARC and I could not put it down. It ended the duology perfectly!
PLEASE STOP INVITING ME TO THIS GROUP.I DO NOT WANT TO JOIN IT.
IF YOU SEND ME AN INVITE I WILL BLOCK YOU AND REPORT YOU FOR HARASSMENT.
Published this year: Hello, Beautiful (Napolitano), Old God's Time (Barry), All the Sinners Bleed (Cosby), The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store (McBride), and Mammoths at the Gate (Vo).
Haunting Adeline by HD Carlton has been my favorite read this year. Yes it’s smutty but its smut with an incredible storyline with dark undertones.
Bone Chase, but not because it was good in the traditional sense. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever read, and was the first read of the year. I've continued to laugh about it several month later.
Kaiden wrote: "I have so many favorites from this year but I still haven't stopped thinking about My Dark Vanessa"Read this a few years back and still think about it. Good choice!
Either, Foster by Claire Keegan or The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese. Which are also the longest and shortest books I've read in 2023, go figure
ooh i love this question!! okay so Spin the Dawn was the best book ive read so far this year. its a fast paced duology set in a very intresting world. Idk about any of you but sometimes magic systems confuse me but i got everything 100% with this one. I would definitley reccomend.
