I'll be cliche and say my best book this year is 'Will of the Many' by James Islington. Close behind would be 'Lightbringer' by Pierce Brown! Both some hefty sci-fantasy series, but absolutely gut-wrenchingly beautiful :)
Fiction: tough choice, and I can't decide between Deacon King Kong (James McBride) and Once There Were Wolves (Charlotte McConaghy); Non-fiction: Bicycling with Butterflies (Sara Dykman). If I had to choose an overall winner I would go with Bicycling with Butterflies!
My 2023 favorite was Fairy Tale by: Stephen King I just loved this book it was King at his best, got off King for a while his stuff got old but this was so refreshing it had kids, animals, and people doing the right thing thumbs up from me.
Mine is easily Happy Place by Emily Henry. Y'all ever read a book that feels like the author reached into your mind and articulated thoughts you didn't even realize you had? Like the book was written for you personally? Yeah that's how this book makes me feel.
It's a toss up between the whole Fallen Trilogy and The Kitten and His Prince by Julie ManninoI thought Lor by Lily Mayne would make it for me, and I have liked it, but Im kinda dragging with it now.
Izzy wrote: "The song of Achilles!I just finished it and I can’t stop thinking about it."
This is definitely one of mine! I read it a few months ago and constantly feel the urge to reread it.
My faves this year have been… In the Lives of Puppets
Fourth Wing
Boys in the Valley
The Christmas Fix
Christmas at Wheeldale Inn
What Feasts at Night
The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth! Close second that I just am finishing is The Drowning Woman by Robyn Harding. Can you tell thrillers are my favourite genre?
- Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater- Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
- If You Could See the Sun by Ann Liang
- Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
This is so hard….ive read so so many good ones. The four horsemen was good, Acotar series was award winning!
I finally read Dracula & that's probably the best book I read this year. Well aside, from the entire Sherlock Holmes collection that I finished before March. Also the entire Witcher Saga, including the comics from Dark Horse. Books that came out this year? Nah, didn't read any. Well, I did read volume 11 of the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess manga, the English translation came out in 2023
In My Dreams I Hold a Knife If its a stand alone its ' in my dreams I hold a knife' the best psychological thriller I have ever read. If its a series then the twisted series.
The Covenant of Water is by far the best book I have ever read!!!!! It is long, but too short once you become involved with the story. I have waited ten years for this writer to write this incredible novel. The last book he wrote was Cutting for Stone, another masterpiece.
