Helen (helennn) | 183 comments I’m new to the group, and would like to join this challenge.
I’ll start with the easy level, and add books as I find and read them.

Easy: 6/6 books
Medium - 9/9 books
Hard - 12 books.

Choose from the following and have fun! Each of the numbered clues is for a different book. And don't forget all books MUST be from our chosen genres of crime, mystery, thriller and suspense.

1. "It's a book by a male author - I think it had red writing on the cover."

2. "The writer was a lady - she's famous - her books are set in America somewhere."
The Alpine Vengeance (Emma Lord, #22) by Mary Daheim A Nun in the Closet by Dorothy Gilman

3. "It was published last year and it seems as though everyone has read it except me."
Murder Before Evensong (Canon Clement, #1) by Richard Coles

4. It had an English detective in it - he was really nice. I think it was part of a series.
Pancakes and Corpses (Peridale Cafe Mystery #1) by Agatha Frost

5. "The word murder was in the title."
Murder in Williamstown (Phryne Fisher #22) by Kerry Greenwood

6. "It was set in Melbourne. Or maybe it was Sydney. Anyway it was in Australia somewhere."

7. "It had a blue cover. I think. Yes it was definitely blue."
A Great Reckoning (Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, #12) by Louise Penny

8. "I remember it had a very short title. Just one word actually."
Trust (Martin Scarsden, #3) by Chris Hammer

9. "The title had a number in it but I can't remember which number it was."

10. "I am sure the author's name began with a B"
Snobbery With Violence (An Edwardian Murder Mystery #1) by M.C. Beaton
Some of the covers have the author listed as Marion Chesney, but my paperback lists her as MC Beaton.

11. " The only thing I can remember is that my friend said it was the first book the author wrote, but it was very good anyway."
A Most Peculiar Malaysian Murder (Inspector Singh Investigates #1) by Shamini Flint

12. "It was set in a library, or maybe it was a bookshop - there were definitely books in it."
Savage Sourdough (Cozy Corgi Mysteries #4) by Mildred Abbott
