Lyor wrote: "ideas for authors with initials LD?"My want to read list throws up:
Amberlough
Pirate Women: The Princesses, Prostitutes, and Privateers Who Ruled the Seven Seas
Superheroes Anonymous
The Alexandria Quartet
I hated this prompt the first time round, my initials do not lend themselves to finding authors; and the book I ended up picking wasn't available in libraries so I ended up not reading it.This year I started sulking when I saw this prompt back, and wasn't quite sure what I was going to do, until I saw a book on my TBR by an author who has the same initials, but in reverse order. So I decided I was going to put as much effort into accurately fulfilling the prompt as Popsugar has put into compiling the list this year, and I've gone for The Land of Yesterday by K.A. Reynolds

LOL that's the spirit!!!!! (from someone else who hated this prompt the first time around)

I walked the stacks at work ya and adult. Found 7 authors (I think) not sure what’s lurking on my kindle yet.
Lyor wrote: "ideas for authors with initials LD?"If you are cool with mystery/thrillers, try Laura Dave. I enjoyed The Last Thing He Told Me.
It will be Neil Gaiman for me, which makes me very happy. My initials are actually NCG, but I never use my middle name and it would be impossible anyways, so Gaiman it is.
Sweet, I wasn't really feeling the wolf book from Rick McIntyre so I was looking for other material instead. Man it took forever to find the initials of RM but I finally found one.
I'm going on a theme of Indigenous themes/authors for the challenge this year so I looked at BirchBark Books hoping to find at least something. I then went and double-checked to see if I might have missed any to the point I was considering going with my middle and last initial or my first and middle initial. Anyways I found an Indigenous one. I know nothing about it other than the description that was given and the publishing date (2022, yae!)
Here's the book:
Rehearsals for Living
(Robyn Maynard)
I’m the same as Holly Black, which is awesome as her new book is coming out in 2023 so I think I’ll read that for this prompt :)))
Does anyone has a good recommendation for the initials CB? Maybe something SciFi or Fantasy :) I have no idea what I should read.
Conny wrote: "Does anyone has a good recommendation for the initials CB? Maybe something SciFi or Fantasy :) I have no idea what I should read."There are two mystery writers with those initials:
Cara Black
Christin Brecher
Does anyone have suggestions for "DC" or "EC"? I don't have anything on my TBR.I'm a fan of science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, nonfiction, some mysteries.
Jessica wrote: "Does anybody know any authors with the initials of JW?"If you like historical fiction mysteries with a female detective, I've got the Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear on my TBR.
If you're looking for something a bit offbeat, I'm planning to read Killer Fashion: Poisonous Petticoats, Strangulating Scarves, and Other Deadly Garments Throughout History by Jennifer Wright. (It's my shortest TBR.)
I previously read her first book, Get Well Soon: History's Worst Plagues and the Heroes Who Fought Them, which was fascinating. Granted, that one was more amusing pre-'Rona…
Conny wrote: "Does anyone has a good recommendation for the initials CB? Maybe something SciFi or Fantasy :) I have no idea what I should read."Christopher L. Bennett has written some very good Star Trek novels and a few original ones. For the Trek, I would recommend Watching the Clock, Orion's Hounds, or The Captain's Oath.
Ashley Marie wrote: "Sarah wrote: "I have nothing on my Goodreads TBR with the initials SB, and not a lot of familiar-to-me authors come up on a Wikipedia search. I researched a little and I might read something by eit..."I second the recommendation of A Long Way Home!
Hi Dea, I can’t reply directly to you because I’m using my phone and it doesn’t let me do that lol. I had a look for authors with the initials DC and I found a few:- The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain (historical fiction)
- Eat a Peach by David Chang (memoir)
- The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton (fantasy)
- The Marvellers by Dhonielle Clayton (middle grade fantasy)
- The New Wilderness by Diane Cook (dystopian)
- Parkland: Birth of a movement by Dave Cullen (non-fiction, I think)
:)
Rachel wrote: "Ideas for RB?"Rhys Bowen is a mystery writer. Her Royal Spyness is the first in a series my friends have spoken highly of. She also won an awards for Murphy's Law.

Hello fellow DC initial haver! You could read Douglas Coupland, but I personally do not like his work. There is also Diane Chamberlaine. I read Big Lies in a Small Town and liked it, and I'm going to read The Silent Sister for this prompt.
Would love any suggestions folks have for the initials "PK" . The only thing I have is When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi... which I don't see myself picking up given its heaviness.
Pamela M. Kelley writes “feel good” women’s fiction and suspense, I’ve never read any of her books but I believe she’s written a bestseller or two
If anyone is looking for an author with the initials KM, I would recommend checking out Kerri Maniscalco's books. I really liked her Stalking Jack the Ripper series.
Preeti wrote: "Would love any suggestions folks have for the initials "PK" . The only thing I have is When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi... which I don't see myself picking up given its heaviness."Patrick Radden Keefe is an excellent writer, but it is somewhat heavy nonfiction as well...
Preeti wrote: "Would love any suggestions folks have for the initials "PK" . The only thing I have is When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi... which I don't see myself picking up given its heaviness."If you can live with the same initials in a different place, then Philip K. Dick would work.
My initial are ERR. I have been trying to find author with the same initials but no luck. I also tried ER and nothing. I am thinking of using RR (for my two last names) or LR (my nickname and last name). Any suggestions?

I'll do undercover and use my goodreads name - first name is real, last is not. After I had once posted a review on Instagram, some boss of mine made a remark about something odd. Turns out that when you log onto insta with your google account, people that have your email in their contacts will be suggested your account. None of my job's business.
I will be reading Dracula by Bram StokerAnother possibility I came across was Barbara Dawson Smith's Once Upon A Scandal. Different middle initial, but it would otherwise work.
My initials are PJ - can anyone help? Surprisingly few authors have the same initials. I prefer sci-fi but anything not heavy/depressing would be perfect :)
Piajensen13 wrote: "My initials are PJ - can anyone help? Surprisingly few authors have the same initials. I prefer sci-fi but anything not heavy/depressing would be perfect :)"Piajensen13, P.D. James is an English crime writer. Her books are very good. I have not read one in a long time but I remember liking Death Comes to Pemberley and The Children of Men.
Piajensen13 wrote: "My initials are PJ - can anyone help? Surprisingly few authors have the same initials. I prefer sci-fi but anything not heavy/depressing would be perfect :)"The only one I found on my list is Paulette Jiles.
If you don't mind the reverse initials (JP), I found a couple more options for you:
Joshua Palmatier (fantasy)
Jason Porath - Rejected Princesses: Tales of History's Boldest Heroines, Hellions, and Heretics
Hannah (Asteroid B-612) wrote: "The Dream Daughter by Diane Chamberlain (historical fiction)"Thanks! I see a couple of interesting Diane Chamberlain titles.
Denise wrote: "Hello fellow DC initial haver! You could read Douglas Coupland, but I personally do not like his work. There is also Diane Chamberlaine. I'm a graphic designer and artist, so art restoration combined with a mystery sounds like a winner.

Anyone have suggestions for EP?
Brittany wrote: "Help! My initials are B.T. and I am STRUGGLING."
That is a challenge. If you like non-fiction, you've got lots of options, though!!
Booker T. Washington - Up from Slavery
Barbara W. Tuchman - The Guns of August
Beverly Daniel Tatum - Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?
In fiction:
Brandon Taylor - Real Life
Brenna Thummler - Sheets
Brad Thor - The Lions of Lucerne
Brad Taylor - One Rough Man
BUT if you switch the initials around, you get to choose authors like:
Tessa Bailey - It Happened One Summer
Terry Brooks - The Sword of Shannara
Taffy Brodesser-Akner - Fleishman Is in Trouble
Thi Bui - The Best We Could Do (this graphic novel is absolutely fantastic!!! And Vietnamese traditionally put their family name first! Unfortunately for you, I checked, and it looks like she's "Americanized" her name and Bui is her family name.)
