Did I love this story, you ask? No, but I certainly did like it! *grin*
It was slow... and long... but, it had animals and Leo so that has to count for something! I loved the strong female characters, as always, but I could have done without the whole Karen thing. Yes, Emmett's mom's name is Karen. Things were better towards the end and I know change and acceptance can be hard for some, but as I have always said... love your kids, the rest will come!

The book rating was hard for me on this one. Between 3 and 4 stars but I'll go with four because it did keep me coming back. It was quite the slow burn, friendship turns to romance type book with a whole lot of inner dialogue and giving each other space even if they didn't want to. They seemed to tip toe around each other even though they both said they didn't want that. We got to know Jax better because he was more open with his past and by the time we got to Tanner it just fell kind of flat for me. Not sure why. Maybe all the build up? Not sure. Anyways, like their romance a whole lot.

A little slow for me, a fake boyfriend trope where really both MCs liked it each and, should have been real from the beginning. At least when they did decide to have a real relationship, the when will they speak to each other didnt drag on.

An easy to read story with good secondary characters and a potty mouth cockatoo.

I absolutely loved the Wolves of Walker County series and was expecting more of that when I chose this book... My expectations were too high. *headdesk* 😭
In Ms. Burrelli's defense, this was one of her early works and she has grown by leaps and bounds, so don't judge this author by this book!
What was missing from this book, you ask? Well, let's start with DETAILS! Then let's move on to PROOFREADING! And, last, but NOT least, WORLD BUILDING!
I can handle the second if we are given the first and the third. As a whole, this felt like she had set down her thoughts for the story, and it would have been a great story if it had been developed, but she published it as is... an outline?
I want to read Christian's story, but have a fear of running across the same problems like this one. I feel I will have to do some research before I jump in with both feet!
As I said earlier... read her newer works! Very well written and extremely entertaining!

Great read! An assassin and a hacker, what could go wrong? Jonah takes Cas in when he sees him talking to a pimp on a bus bench. Cas is only 16 so Jonah doesn't see him in any kind of romantic way. Two years later Cas leaves. He's been gone for five years and has managed to get himself in a giant mess with his hacking. Now he's back and when they meet again....oh man, the sparks here! Great action, great smexing, interesting side characters and a whole lot of fun. Loved it!

Review:
Last year, my 7-year-old grandaughter told me that boys shouldn't wear skirts. I promptly asked her, "What are you wearing?" She said, "Pants." Enough said!
If it makes you feel good about yourself, then that is what is good for you! As long as no animals are harmed, or humans *sigh*... then you be you!
So, you don't want to see a man in a skirt... or any other garment that you deem "feminine"? LOOK THE OTHER WAY!!!
My one wish for this story would have been a dual POV, I found Davo fascinating without it, but can you imagine if we had a look at his thought process... mind-boggling! *grin*

Loved how these two met. Rescuing people? Yes, please. I just loved Shane so much. He was the sweetest. These two had a connection right from the start but when Shane becomes an honorary Canali, Mike just can't handle it. Of course the Canali dad was clueless and an a**hole and how they all didn't get that Shane was gay from the beginning was just sad. Macho crap just pisses me off and these guys had it in spades. I just felt so bad for Shane and Mike. Being together should be so hard. Their HEA is not a guarantee at the end of the book but hopefully we'll get more of them in the rest of the series.

I enjoyed this a lot more than on my first read. No idea why. Perhaps my mood last time? This is just a really fun read with great side characters, genuine but flawed MCs and the plot conflict, whilst a bit annoying, was also understandable. That adds up to a great read for me.
Narrated by Joel Leslie - excellent.

Review:
Whilst I love 'business' based romances, I've never been a fan of the developer-type romance. It hard for me to relate to someone wanting to ruin countryside, even though I wouldn't describe myself as a greenie. I just love trees and the country.
Anyway, in this story, our MC Lachlan was definitely a douche for a good portion of the start of the story, but he softened over time; lost his horrid edge. MC Easton was sweet and full of heart, but totally stubborn. The person who I really disliked was reserved for Lachlan's revolting father - I couldn't understand why he and his brother Christian put up with him. All the other characters were great, including the delightful kid, Percy...
Whilst it wasn't 5 stars (just a bit long for me combined with the dreadful father). Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Review:
So many real-life truths in this story.
I had a very long, emotional review written and then I cleared it all out because this story will be something different for everyone who reads it. My biggest takeaway was that it's OK to be different. No two people are the same and when someone tries to change you to make you "normal" then know... THEY are what is wrong in this world, not YOU!
Don't let others make you doubt yourself. It will be hard, but coming to the realization that you are worthy of any dream that you may have will be your greatest gift... to yourself and to others!
As seems to be the trend in the books that I have been reading lately, Stumpy stole the show... dang dogs! LOL!!! And can I just say, we all need a Richie in our lives!
The one thing that quirked me the most was the loose thread concerning Sean's dad!

Boy did I get sucked into this one. It was a long read that didn't feel long at all. Rhys is a bit of a hot mess and has been since he was roofied and assaulted at 17 and Beck is a lumberjack type professor who's given up on finding the one. They meet when Beck's nephew shoplifts at Rhys' store and it all begins. Fashion drama, spying, a fire and a cast of great characters round this book out nicely. I loved how their relationship developed and this was no easy feat for either of them. They really has to do some work. I can't wait for the next person's story!

Good story - MC Oscar is a dancer and overly dramatic at times; MC Roman (a significant brother) is a long-haul pilot with a tendency to move too fast, or not at all ;) It was sweet the way these two came together and dealt with their trials. Would have enjoyed seeing a bit more comeuppance for Oscar's nemesis...
Narrated by Greg Boudreaux - excellent as usual.

Loved these two MCs - flawed but genuine in their hearts, with both just needing a little directional change. MC Whit is a fun-loving goofus who is quite adorable. MC Rainn is jaded and bitter over his lost hockey career - he needs someone light and optimistic to pull him out of his dudgeon.
I was impressed that the author allows each MC to listen to each other, speaking up when issues arise. No silly misunderstandings - each just digging within themselves for growth.
Narrated by Tim Paige & Iggy Toma - excellent.
