Review:
When I am reading a series that consists of the same MCs throughout the series... I like it to stay that way... grrr

I can see the future (Ok, I read the blubs of the rest of the books) and the future is different MCs in 2 of the books. I am sure they are going to be perfectly good books, but that is NOT my point... grrr

As for this book? I felt the conflict in rebuilding the team was real and adding new team members is always an iffy situation. As Darren and Kavon's knowledge grows, so does the danger.

And can I just say, I want one of those massages! *grin*

We have gone back in time for these later books. To a pre war time and a time where Ma and Pa Stewart are still with us. In fact they feature quite heavily in this book. The mystery was good. Looks of 'what if's' that kept me guessing to the end.

Really loved this story. These stories by MB covering the rescue of kids and their subsequent care and love that keeps me completely engaged. Along with the supernatural world, and the detailed characters, it built into a book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Review:
I love it when a plan comes together... OK, the plan sorta just wiggled and squiggled until they got it right, but I enjoyed the action and the magic!

These two remind us that even the most unlikely couples can be the most perfect for each other! Watching them work together and learning to deal with their feelings for each other has been a slow but fulfilling process!

Now, about the next book... not sure when I will get to it, but I am still not happy with the turn of events! Although, I am sure I will grow to love both new MCs... eventually. 😭

I think the side characters make this series for me. The couples are okay but not what I enjoyed most. The little town, their family, Fio's goat, their friends. They are the stars here. I did really love Fio and True and their second chance romance though. It was deep, just entertaining.

I didn't enjoy this one nearly as much as most of it was MM/MMM/MMMMM sex ~ overload. I need a good developing storyline to keep my interest nowadays ;) (Crazy, I know.) I'll see how the next books in the series are focussed before I jump back in. I know the spin-off series is back on kids, so that will be a no-brainer :)

I was going to warn you (I gave it 3 stars) but thought... Nah, she might actually like it. Good news, the rest of the books are more "universe building" than MMMMMMMM, yes, there are 8 of them by the end, and the stories revolve around the battles and have some very interesting secondary characters!

And, yes... you are going to LOVE the kids! *grin*

Easy listening with a bit of mystery but not 'edge of your seat' stuff, which is my preference... I have to admit I had another culprit in mind, but I generally jump around on my guesses so not unusual 🤪

I enjoyed MC Ray's perspective (held throughout) and that JCP didn't go places with the plot that could have been an easy friction point to build unnecessary pathos/sympathy(view spoiler)[(eg having Ray as a suspect). (hide spoiler)]

Narrated by Gomez Pugh - excellent.

Review:
I really like this author's style of writing... color me surprised! Even if the story had been bad, which it wasn't, the style of writing caught my attention right off the bat and held me! I knew going in that this was going to be a 3 book no HEA until the end of them and I am kinda OK with that.

Marley is intriguing (Darcy is just flat-out fascinating) and Cowboy, I mean Cord grows on you... eventually! *grin*

But, as we know, the baby and the animals just keep stealing the show! I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that the author doesn't have children or they have a VERY advanced two-year-old running around their home... and yeah, potting training can be a bitch! LOL!!!

Now, to find a place to slip Wilder Acres into my reading schedule... because I just have to know!

I messed up... twice! *headdesk*

I didn't read the blurb and this isn't the "Charity" author that I was thinking of when I chose this book... two strikes right off the bat for this book! (The blurb mentioned "hockey"... just NO for me!)

My 3rd mistake was reading chapter after chapter thinking this can't really be the story... but, sadly it was.

I checked, this is NOT a new author for me and I seemed quite pleased with the 1st two books I read by her, so I am going to assume that this one was a fluke and just not for me, or I got lucky with the 1st two. Either way, my misery is over and I can move on to the next book on my reading schedule.

Sidenote: I will admit this story read fast...
