I don't think Malazan is on the schedule... I just append a 2023 to the title to indicate we're using it... the last scheduled BR for the thread we're using is 2019...

Waybound needs updated... the original placeholder BR date is in a few days... blog updates have made pretty clear that June 6th is the official release date, so the BR should be set for June 13th...

Also--I just saw that the BR Request form has some additional data on it--asking us to include another buddy's name in the request (I'm assuming to try to weed out folks who haven't figured out the rules yet or haven't interacted with folks yet)

I just wanted to make sure y'all know that the requests by Alexis S. for Heart of the Sun Warrior on July 15 and The World We Make on June 17 have a group behind them who are planning on following up our earlier BRs, me included.

I have amended the BR for Blood Mirror.

Yes we added the extra criteria because requests were coming in from both people not following the rules and authors trying to promote their books. I usually have a peek in the BR Planning thread (where BRs should be planned) and if I do not see the book being discussed, I get suspicious.

Hopefully the Buddy question helps.

Doesn't help I'm as much part of the problem as the solution... half my comments spawn Buddy Reads outside of official channels...

Either in the Vagabond thread, or comparing BR books to other things I've read, then people say "we should all read that once this series is done"...

Or I go and resuscitate an old thread to see if I can bring a lurking member around (Terry in the Polity Universe thread from 2018/2020)...

I think this has been the release date for awhile...

Yanique didn't want to change the BR until closer to the original date tho, in case there were other delays, to cut down on edits...

Hi mods!! So so sorry about this, but it seems like the author pushed Heavenly Tyrant's release to April 2024.

We originally put in a buddy read request for August 2023 and September 2023 for Iron Widow and Heavenly Tyrant respectively. I was wondering if we could move Iron Widow's thread to April 2024, and put a hold/wait on Heavenly Tyrant's thread in case there's more delays?

I realized, in the 30 or so BR requests that I put in this week, that I made at least one date error. >.< The Eidolon was supposed to be for a month after the Hourglass Throne, on Sept 5th. My bad! I am so sorry! Is it possible to fix that eventually? Plenty of time.

chibipoe and I want to do a reread of The Wars of Light and Shadows by Janny Wurts. Because the last book is already getting printed and we want a refresh.
Do I ask for 10 new threads plus a WOLAS Q&A thread because we want to ask the author questions as we read?
Or do we use the old WOLAS folder threads which have threads for all the books and I'm guessing might be unarchived?

Which is better and what should I ask for in the buddy read request form?

Edit to say we want to start next Sunday. :)

Hi Laura, we're sticking to making fresh threads for new BRs, so go ahead and request individual threads for the books like normal and I'll get them all set up for you.

All done. :) Requests submitted for the first ten books as well as the Q&A threads. We'll be reading the 11th book also but I don't have a GR link for it yet so I haven't made a request yet. I'll do that when we have one.
