Trying to catch up on scheduling requests, and accidentally made a duplicate--Iain if you catch it fast enough, can you delete the White Road request? Didn't realize there was already a thread.
Buymort #3, Rise of the Windowpuncher, died a quick death the other day... only the thread for #4 seems to have stuck around...
At first, I thought it was GR's newly bugged notification issues at work, but search pulled up no results and I see it checked off on the spreadsheet...

Doing some tracker cleaning and making requests, and of course, mistakes. @Iain, if you find it quickly, I accidentally copied book #7s link into Book #8 request for foreigner... should be:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
Thank you!
I'm working through my tracker and slowly trying to organize things again, including finally posting here books that were delayed/rescheduled... so there will be more posts like this slowly over the next week or so...Defiant was pushed back to December 10th

I think Lockwood & Company #4's BR thread bugged out... I see you made 1-3, then 5 & Jacques McKeown #2 an hour later, and 4 is missing from my notifications...
Also, the Heavenly Tyrant thread needs some updates... it's been floating in limbo since 2023, as the book release kept getting delayed...
They just scheduled a new book 1 BR, and are doing book 2 a few weeks after release, in mid-January:

I already changed the thread title and spreadsheet to January 15, 2025, just needs the rest of the adjustments to comment 1, and any adjustments you want to do to the bookshelf/folder...

@Iain--so, on the spreadsheet, The Last Dragonslayer is missing capitals in the book title...This is a super little thing so let me know if it's okay to mention stuff like this here or if I should just try to ignore when I see it--but stuff like this bugs the heck out of me ^^;;; Especially when errors like that are my fault.

Was checking the upcoming BRs, fixed it while I was on the spreadsheet :)
Ack! Thread Wizards! I just noticed I put Legendborn for Mar 15 when it should have been April 15! Save me!
Looks like the Fate of the Argosi thread for Mar 27 died a quiet death. Should I put in another request?

I messaged Yanique, asking if she stopped getting notifications for this thread... I think she's checked in since September, but I can't remember, since the last comment was late September... she should check in, next time she checks notifications / GRmail, so I'd wait a few days before going that route...
There's some missing threads and adjustments I mentioned further up, last week, that need attention, too...

Just went through and checked the Osten Ard threads. They're mostly in the right spot on the Spreadsheet--just the Brothers of the Wind needs changing from March 15-->April 1st. And pray we keep the monthly schedule.Threads that need updating with new dates:
2) Stone of Farewell (Jan 1) [link]
3) To Green Angel Tower (Feb 1) [link]
Middle books--King of Osten Ard prequels
1) The Heart of What Was Lost (Mar 1st) [link]
2) Brothers of the Wind (Apr 1st) [link]
Thank you!

Changed March 15 to April 1... I did that the way I did because the original dates were December 1 & 15...
But, I also seem to have made a bunch of spreadsheet adjustments like that and then never mentioned to Yanique to adjust the threads/shelves... I only noticed that because the Brothers of the Wind BR is on the group front page right now, for the original December 15th start date...

I think that maybe we originally were going to start the middle books a month and a half later, since To Green Angel Tower is so long? I just hope the series BR actually picks up and keeps going. I want to read to the end.
Well... they're smaller commitments than Stormlight Archive, so I'd like to stick with it...
These Osten Ard books are 30-40hrs long... the shorter side books are 10-15hrs... Green Angel Tower is an exception and 64hrs... no wonder it was split into 2 parts in alot of editions...
Shadows of the Apt is a wide range of lengths from 16-28hrs per book...
Combined, they aren't much worse than a single Stormlight Archive book...
Dark Tower starts short and grows long... starts at 7.33hrs and quickly climbs to 18hrs then 28hrs, before shrinking back down to 10-15hrs towards the end...
Those are the 3 series I'm reading in 2025 that I know can run long, other than Pirateaba releases...

I've deleted the dead links and will be redoing them. GR is out to get us!

@Spreadsheet Wizards--would y'all mind editing the Crown of Slaves (Honorverse: Wages of Sin #1) Author line to say David Weber and Eric Flint? I was on autopilot and didn't think to include the co-author.
Found another thread that needs a date update:Symphony of Fates was rescheduled to Dec 20 back in Sept... I haven't heard from Felina in a while, but she did say she wanted to finish the series before the new year, and I'm planning on finishing it up...

@Yanique: I did some improvements to the spreadsheet:- use column I to hide BR requests. If you check the box, the request will have a status of "hidden" and will not appear in the Upcoming BR tab (even if there is a link). This is mostly for handling duplicate requests since we can't delete them
- implemented a filter based of the starting date. All request with a starting date before the date in D1 (January 1st, 2024 for now) will be hidden. This is just an automated version of what Iain was doing to cut down on scrolling time. If you want to change the date, modify D1, then click on the filter button in the Starting Date header (D2) and OK.
- added a button to quickly go to the first pending request (the big red arrow in the top left). This basically does the same thing as the link in B2 but in 1 click (where the link was a bit clunky since you have to select the cell, then click on the link that appears).
I also left you a comment on one of the pending request with ideas for further improvements, but it'll have to wait even if you do want them since I'll be traveling for the holidays and modifying spreadsheet on a phone sounds like a nightmare :)

Nirkatze made a boo boo... not sure what you want to do to fix it... since you edited the spreadsheet...

So I just figured out that I accidentally requested Hell's Super (Feb 4) and Little Fires Everywhere (Feb 3) for 2024. So they aren't showing up in the 2025 pretty monthly spreadsheet. Whoops! Glad I found those!https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I edited the spreadsheet... and found that someone requested Wheel of Time #1 for tomorrow... with a full-on post better suited to the BR request thread in the Special Instructions, seeking a buddy... requested by "Myself and seeking a buddy"...

I don't even...

Yeah, I saw that too... Reminds me of how my students never read instructions... and I spend hours writing up the instructions...

I saw this and 😐
I saw this and 😐
Yeah... I was kind of sad seeing that too--like, if they'd put that post in the buddy read invite thread, they'd've probably got someone as a taker...
