This was a fun book! I like quirky and snarky and Maggie fits the bill. Throw in a smoking hot elf and you got yourself a crime fighting duo of epic proportions lol. While the humor was a little forced at times I did find myself chuckling while reading. These are good books when you're in the mood for a quick, silly, but still kicking a$$ book. Can't wait to see what trouble Maggie gets into :)

This was a reread for me and was just as good as the first time reading it. I almost made it three stars because of Carl and Meg but in the end Kitty stands up to them and takes care of her own. I remembered a lot of this one but there were things that I did not as well I am going to reread the second one that one I don't remember at all and continue on I am excited to read more of this series. Hopefully more Cormic as well.

3 1/2 stars.
I liked this book a lot. The every man wants Camille thing got a little old. I also prefer my characters a little more monogamous but since this is an Urban Fantasy and not a romance that wasn't a deal breaker for me. Narrator could have been better at male voices. Especially since the author didn't always denote who was speaking. Also the voices for some of the bad guys and Smokey the Dragon came off a little too kids cartoon-ish for me. But I liked it enough to read the next one right away for another group challenge.

Not sure what I am going to read. I have to see what male author books work with my letters for the Wheel-A-thon.

Review:
A very complicated story, full of action and twists.
Genny is in a lot of trouble and running for her life from many different sides, as almost everybody seems to want a piece of her. Human police, fae curses, vampire politics, magical repercussions, ambitious witches and ghosts are some of the items in Genny's list of problems to be solved, and she doesn't know who to trust, as everyone has their own agenda.
Interesting story that continues in the next book in the series, The Bitter Seed of Magic.

Review:
Whoever said that these books start getting good after #3, well, they were right!
Full of action, Harry's irreverent, snarky sense of humor at the most inappropriate times and an impossible situation that he has to get himself out of, this audiobook was a delight to listen to, especially with James Marsters' masterful narration.
I am still not a fan of the fae, who play a significant role in this part of Harry's story, but it was interesting solving the mystery alongside him. (view spoiler)
Harry has started letting people in his life bit by bit, with first the werewolves and then Murphy tagging along with him and having his back.
I look forward to seeing how things progress for him in Death Masks next.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Another fantastic installment to The Dresden Files! Quite a bit happens in this one too. It seemed to set up some future things with some of our consistent players throughout the series. And yay Toot Toot had a brief cameo in this book! Marsters' narration of Toot Toot fractures me every time. Harry really stepped up to the plate (not that he never doesn't) and really put his life on the line in this book. Poor Harry is just a trouble magnet and not the oh bad things always happen to me kind of trouble either....life and death kind of trouble. Needless to say I'm very excited to read Turn Coat now. Spoiler for the end(view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
