Moondance (moondance120) | 2141 comments WEEK 6: S

Shannon Mayer Priceless

Read: 3.26.15
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review:

The couple in front of me looked like any other parents who'd lost a child-their hands gripping one another, dark circles under their eyes, skin sallow from not enough food, water or sleep-except for the faintest glimmer of a possibility, a scrap of hope that someone had thrown them, by sending them my way.

I was hooked from the moment that I read Shannon's warning to her mother. **Warning**If you are my mother, do not read this book. There are things like "F" bombs, sexual tension, and naughty, sexy supernatural creatures. Please don't say I didn't warn you. There is also Rylee Adamson, a Tracker, who finds children that no one else can. There is FBI Agent Liam O'Shea who has been following Rylee for 10 years trying to prove that she killed her sister. There is Alex, the werewolf, stuck between human and beast. He is Rylee's faithful companion. And there is Milly, a witch in search of a Coven.

To this mix, Ms. Mayer throws in demons and Harpies and ogres and a pissed off pack of werewolves. She does this quite well. I was so intrigued with this book that I pretty much devoured it. I love the snark, the dark humor and the true devotion Rylee has of finding the children. The ending was abrupt and now I have to go find the next one in the series to see what is going to happen.

PS-I think I love Liam!

That's true but I'd rather someone offer me the dream job now, thank you very much. I had another interview today that bombed. The timings didn't work for me. I have more interviews lined up next week so still hopeful something clicks.

I've been staying away from cricket now - still a little depressed about the whole thing. I mean, the preceding matches were played so good that I had my hopes now. It's not the losing, the fact that we didn't really play well. Oh well. That said, Sandra, you should be rooting for Australia. It's your home team on home ground!! I'm so hoping for an awesome finale.

I wanted Connor's story for so long. I was a little disappointed in it because (view spoiler). I think the last one I read was Howard's story in Wild About You.

message 269: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25913 comments Vi, I'm sure I'll be cheering on our side tomorrow, no worries.

Cheryl, Howard & to a lesser extent Elsa make appearances in my book, as Howard is seconded as Zoltan's bodyguard and Elsa is doing up Zoltan's castle for the reno show. Connor just had to do something totally different. LOL

SOS Bookshelf Bingo R11 ~ Week 6 ~ S is For... Shelf

Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter, #2) by Nalini Singh by Nalini Singh

Finished:28/03/15
Rating:4♥

Review:
Another very good edition to the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh. In this installment Elena is yet again called to use her Hunter skills to figure out what is going on at the refuge when vampires and angels start being attacked and with a bigger threat lurking in the shadows Elena will have her work cut out for her.
I am quite starting to like this series, Book 2 was a much faster read for me then the first. I'm also really starting to love the characters I have to say that my favorite is Illium the blue beauty his character makes this series for me. I'm very interested to see what is going to happen next with Elena's return to New York and the Hunters Guild.

I really enjoy this series. It's always fun and easy reading. I liked the story in this one and I liked both Zoltan and Neona. Zoltan has the ability to talk with animals and some of those scenes were quite funny.

Vi | 943 comments Week 6: S Author

The Rithmatist (The Rithmatist #1) by Brandon Sanderson by Brandon Sanderson

Date Read: 30 March
Rating: 4 stars
Review:
Brandon Sanderson is one of my favorite authors. He can write a dictionary, phone book anything and I'll definitely buy.

So it was with great anticipation that I began reading and really, I couldn't put it down. It had all elements of Sanderson in it right till the twist in the end. That twist wants me to read the new one which is not out till... 2017. That really sucks.

Anyway, back to the book. First off, Joel is an awesome protagonist. He's flawed but the author has scenes where he's called on it which was just great to read. The world building - wow! Sanderson has always had a very detailed and original world building and this was no exception. There were even illustrations before each chapter to show the different chalk patterns.

If you haven't read Sanderson before, this is a good book to start. It's short, easy read and still awesome.

SOS Bookshelf Bingo R11 ~ Week 7 ~ Six-Pack Attack Shelf

My Protector (Bewitched and Bewildered, #2) by Alanea Alder

Finished:05/04/15
Rating:5♥

Review:Once again I am delighted to have read another book in the Bewitched and Bewildered series by Alanea Alder. This time we got to met Gavriel's mate Elizabeth who was not only his mate but also a Bunny shifter, yes that right a bunny! Nothing to deadly about a bunny but the woman herself was kick ass. She was politically savvy and knew how to handle herself in those situations. Although this book was a lot more tame then book one it was no less entertaining and was still full of good humor and laugh out loud moments. I can't wait to read the next book!

Moondance (moondance120) | 2141 comments R11 WEEK 7: SIX PACK ATTACK

Rafael by Faith Gibson

Read: 4.3.15
Rating: 5 stars
Review:

As the beautiful redhead paced back and forth, cooing her equally beautiful baby girl, Dr. Jonas Montague examined a baby boy.

The year is 2047. The streets of New Atlanta are filled with the Unholy. Rafael Stone, King of the Gargouille, fights along side his men to keep the city safe. Police Chief Kaya Kane fights crime on the human side, not knowing that the Gargoyles exist. A mass murder with bodies found at a Stone property throws Rafael and Kaya together. Gargoyles know their true mate instantly and Rafael is stunned when a human proves to be his.

A fabulous story with lots of history, science and intrigue. I love the Gargoyle story! The cloning was interesting and the search to see if the Stone family can procreate with humans is good. The characters are well developed. The story is solid and fascinating. I am hooked. Yet another series that I need to read all of now!
