I'll be reading
!! Thanks to the 6 people who added it to the list. I've been dying to continue this series :)

Ok Murder of Crows it is!! twist my rubber arm ...lol :D

We play Scotland on Saturday :)"
LOL!! That's what I always thought too! I was a little bummed when I read he was married ;)
Scotland's a no-brainer. Obviously, Australia's going to win. Our next match is against Zimbabwe which I'm pretty sure we'll win. So our QF is expected to be against Bangladesh - which I'm sure we'll win too. But then again, India's not easy to predict.

Yeah, I agree. I don't want to imagine them happening. No Indian is going to underestimate Bangladesh. Especially after the 2007 WC debacle. Today's going to be an interesting match too. :)

SO, this is a cheating book. Kirra, the MC was one of my favorite characters from the first book which I loved too. I hate cheating so I was really hesitant about picking this one up. But I really wanted to continue the series (as in progress to book 3) so I picked up this book.
The main cheater was Romar Brendy, acting Regent for the princess. He's married to a sweet lady but she doesn't "understand" him. The cheating part was horrible. I couldn't buy into any of the so-called justification by either Romar or Kierra. The worst thing was the treatment of Donnal. It just showed how selfish Kierra was. I still don't and will never get behind cheating. Kierra in the process hurt 4 people including her. Oh, her friends tried to tell her but she was too far gone to listen. Ugh. The end of the book resolves the cheating (obv) but it was very unsatisfactory. Donnal was treated as a consolation price. He deserved better than this. Way better.
Moving on to the best part of the book, the world. There's political unrest building against the king with a religious fanatic plotting against the king and mystics in particular. The book fairly flowed; I was completely engrossed whenever I started reading. If the cheating couple was a tertiary couple, I definitely would have given a higher rating. As it is, that part really bought the book down.
Good job team! We are all caught up except for the new shelf. We're not having a whole lot of luck with shelf calls, so far we only have 1 row with 2 stamps and a potential 2nd row with 2 stamps once we all finish our PNR reads. Hopefully Mr. R with start picking some better shelves for us and start making things interesting :)
Lol... the chanting and candles just might work. I don't know how many time i've played this game and have never once been on a winning team maybe this will be the lucky one :)

I could throw in a few chicken feathers too with the candles and chanting...

I loved this book, was so nice to be back in this world. Charles and Anna is one of my favourite book couples. They work well together. So many precious moment between them. Even though Charles the man and Brother Wolf are the same person, they are separate too. Love that we see both man and wolf. Charles had an old friend who is dying, so he takes Anna to visit. Once there they realise a fey is kidnapping human children. I enjoyed the mystery. It was also fun learning more about Charles from his younger days.

If I said it once I'll say it again Anne Bishop is Awesome! Murder of Crows book two in Bishop's The Others series picks up a couple of weeks after book one and I am immediately thrown back into all the troubles that the others and humans are still facing with attacks from both sides. We are still in the grip of the evil Controller who will stop at nothing to get Meg back (view spoiler) . Meg and Simon's relationship is hovering somewhere between Friends and More then Friends status, personally I hope they both get their HEA.
Bishop has once again drawn me in so completely that I couldn't even put this book down long enough to eat a meal and got up in the middle of the night to read just 1 or 2 chapters. That is the beauty if Bishop's writing she draws you in and all else is forgotten. The world of the Others only keeps getting better with each book. My only complaint is now I only have one more book to read before I have to wait an agonizing year for the next.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews

Review:
In 1863, in a world much like our own, European scientists discovered the Osiris serum, a concoction which brought out one's magic talents.
So begins this absolutely fascinating book. Magic users have been separated into families or Houses and designated as Minor, Average, Notable, Significant and Prime. Nevada Baylor runs a small family owned business that investigates fraud and cheating spouses. The business was bought out by the Montgomery House after the death of her father. Nevada is tasked to apprehend Adam Pierce, a Prime pyrokinetic who is responsible for the death of a security guard following a fire at a bank. Nevada realizes the case is a suicide mission but has no choice but to take it. Enter Connor "Mad" Rogan. Mad is a Prime so off the charts that he has become a folk legend. Mad's cousin is the second suspect in the fire and he has promised to find him for the family. Mad kidnaps Nevada to force information from her.
I'm trying very hard to not reveal spoilers of the story. Mad is a seriously scary man yet Nevada stands her ground repeatedly. The magic that occurs between the two of them is amazing. I love the character building, the unreal situations and the tension of the inevitable relationship. Adam is such a strong demented character. His spoiled rich boy persona starts to wear thin but he is the ultimate sociopath.
I believe my reaction at the end of the book was just "Wow!" I am so ready for the next one in the series. Excellent, excellent read!

Hope Vi is enjoying her book."
I know! I don't give 5 stars to that many books. I loved this one.

That was another winner from Anne Bishop. I couldn't put the book down at all - totally engrossed. Even through the match that was happening on Saturday, I had the Kindle on one hand (well, except for last nail-biting 1.5 hours)
Lots of things that excited me: Simon & Meg's relation; the human pack on the Courtyard; the negotiation of the relation between TI & Humans. It was a lovely read. The only part that niggles is the world. I can't really put my hand on it but it's also possible the relationship negotiation between TI and Humans that has made me slightly uncomfortable. I'm really not sure. That's not going to stop me from borrowing the next book from the library though :)

Good Job Ladies!! Looks like we're getting another stamp...yay :)
Vi, I'm glad you liked Murder of Crows, this is the best series that I started so far this year. I'm reading book 3 right now for my other team challenge so I'll be all caught up soon and then the long wait begins for book 4.

Cheryl I just noticed that you have the wrong book cover for my review

Well I'm all caught up on all my team challenges so now I'm going to try and squeeze in a little more Angels' Blood before the next shelf call :) I've been slowly picking away at it if I find myself bookless in between Team Challenges.

Cheryl I just finished Book 3 Visions in Silver it was awesome but a tad bit emotional, I cried 3 or 4 times while reading it ... I almost want to reread the whole series over again already :) I just finished it this morning and I already miss all my favorite characters
