Haha, that is strange and funny!

I'll probably be reading either School and Rock or Cry Wolf, both of which are book 5 in their respective series. I'm waiting on my SSS team's next roll to decide - it effects a potential bonus point.

Review: This fifth book in the series centers around Myra Reed, one of the three Reed sister's whose family has been entrusted with the safety of Ordinarily for generations. Ordinary, Oregon a little beach town, is far from ordinary. It is home to humans as well as werewolves, vampires and other paranormal creatures, but it was founded as the vacation spot for the gods. A place where they could set aside their godly powers and live almost as a human. The three sisters are all cops, Delaney, Jean and Myra with the eldest Delaney following in her father steps as Police Chief. Myra however follows in her fathers steps by being the guardian of the library of arcane secrets, and the town historian for all things paranormal, supernatural or otherworldly.
In this book they are having to deal with portals to hell popping up in town, a pink know-it-all unicorn and teaching Death how to be a reserve cop. In addition to a bossy Valkyrie, Bigfoot sightings, and other more normal town issues.
I enjoy the world that author Devon Monk created for this urban fantasy series, and look forward to reading more books set in Ordinary.

Book: Escape from Falaise by John Flanagan
Date: 3/6
How it fits: 5th in Royal Ranger series
Rating: 3 stars
Review: It was just a really underwhelming and anti climactic ending to a series. There were parts I enjoyed and I loved seeing old and beloved characters but I expected some sort of resolution with Maddie's training. So much time and detail was spent on the first half of the book but the ending felt abrupt. Horace said near the end of the book that he was done with Gallica and couldn't wait to get home to Aruluen. I can't help but wonder if Flanagan felt similarly about this book.

finished: 3/6/22
how it fits: book 5 in the Spell's Angels series
rating: 3 stars
review: The local werewolves are suffering from a mysterious disease while the vampires ramp up as the head vampire has ties to Scout's past. Scout finally finds out about her powers (view spoiler) and her sister is still blaming all her problems on Scout. I really liked the end (view spoiler) . I do wonder how Marissa hasn't gotten fired as not only is she useless, but she complains constantly.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

The Arrival of Dawn by S.L. Baum
Date: 3/8/22
Fits: The Immortal Ones #5
rating: 5 stars
Review: I really loved this series and I am a bit sad to be done with it. I loved the characters and Dawn was an excellent addition. She would make an interesting star character for a spinoff series. I also found the Vampire Council and their interactions with Charity quite interesting. I loved how they compared vampire "criminals" to human ones and how alike their addictions really were. It was an interesting perspective. Definitely a fun book and series. Looking forward to starting another series by this author.

Review: I LOVE this series - and I’m so afraid it’s over. Adhara’s next book (and it appears, the start of a new series) is about a character important to Cooper and Oliver - Eli. I like Eli’s character and will enjoy learning more about him, but I’m going to miss Coop and Oliver being the main focus. The door was definitely left open for more books about Cooper and Oliver - I hope Adhara chooses to write more. At any rate, I’ll be picking up the next book when it’s published in August. That seems so far away…..

Qualification: Book Collector Mystery #5
Finished: 3/08/22
Rating: 2 stars
Review: The end of the series, a series I felt had great promise at the beginning, but that fell flat as it continued. I blame much of that on the "romance". First of all, Smiley is a stupid name for a character. Second, Smiley was a stupid character. Third, Jordan was an idiot when she was with him. Fourth, lying to each other constantly is a great basis for a relationship. Fifth, what mystery? I didn't notice in all the silliness. Oh well. It's over now and I guess I am glad.

WEEK EIGHT ROLL
⚂ + ⚅ = 9
Old spot ~ 56 + 9 = 65 New Spot
This week it is 5th, 6th or 65th in a series
Or alternate task: 65. Author 'G'

Gesh!
That if two of you that are way lucky with that roll! 🙃
I will pick a book for this week and definitely read a book on time. However, I am in the middle of pure hell right now. My daughter has mood disorders and yesterday almost got on a train to go to another state to see someone she met online. Thank God, I tracked her down in time! Now, I am dealing with her behavioral issues as well because she is mad that I stopped her. So I just am not in the right headspace for any of this right now.

A Stranger in Town
book 6 in Rockton (or Casey Duncan) series - I've seen it named both

Yes, all but the one we have to wait till the end for, and like Diane, I should be able to read just series books.

Sorry, and totally understand your headspace. Do what you need to do. All I ask is keep communication open, both with your daughter and us. Hugs to you 💙

Ok, WOW! You are one lucky gal!"
Except I meant to say 63 or 64 and #5 doesn't actually help. :D
But I will choose one soon. I have a few that will work. And I'll be reading all series numbers too.

Hope things calm down soon Donna. And hopefully not to overstep, but we do have a free pass if you need a break. Good luck.

review: An injured foreign hiker shows up and that leads to finding a lot of bodies killed by the hostiles. Casey continues her investigation into how the hostiles were created and actually gets answers this book (view spoiler) Emilie shows up and seems to be on their side and important people from the 1st Settlement are missing.
Overall it was great to get some answers and action, however the series seems to be wrapping up as the town is suffering from attrition. Sebastian is turning out to be a fascinating character and I wish we spend more time with him (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Oh my!

There were storms and high winds in my area last night and through most of today. Sadly, my internet service got knocked out this morning and there’s still no ETA on when it will be fixed
.
I just wanted to let the team know I’ve selected and read my book, but I won’t be able to post until tomorrow. It’ll either be when the internet is back up or early afternoon when I’ll be at a location where I know I can access the Wi-Fi.
Sorry!
