lol! Sounds like a good plan. 🤓

Yup! I already have three of the four for my series checked out and the fourth one on hold, because I did not want to run into a problem.

Sure, but you likely will not need to, I think three of us are aiming for that Bonus, and we can only claim it once. So you would be a third back-up, witch is great, but....
If I roll less than a 5 we will be on 17, 18 or 19 so you would also have the 7, 8 or 9 in addition to the 1 the teen number and the alt to pick from.
🤓

I did the same.
Figured if we somehow end up with a number I need then that can be a re-read. The only time it can not be a re-read is for the win. 🏆

Review: This series is really intriguing. This book is the prequel story of two characters from the first book (Every Heart a Doorway). The premise of the series is that doors to other worlds open up for some children and some come back and don't fit in the real world anymore.
We learn about twins Jacqueline and Jillian whose parents should have never procreated and twisted them into what they needed to impress their co-workers and friends. They find a door when they are 12 and end up in the Moors which is full of monsters and one stays with the Master (a vampire) and the other goes with the mad scientist. One slowly loses their humanity which leads to a tragic event that forces them to leave and go back to our world. It ends there as we get the rest of the story in the first book.

Review: 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the characters more in this book than I did in book one but I found the world a little bit less immersive. While I did enjoy getting to see scenes from book one from the POV of the characters from book 2, I feel it was done too often. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and want to read book 3 but I am not sure I would ever reread this series.

Review: Ugh Ben is even more annoying in this book than he was in the last one. However, he isn't the least likable character. Poor Sofia has no clue who her parents really are and the tug of war battle between them with her as the prize. Neither seems to care what she wants. There are so many groups and perspectives coming to light in this book. Things revealed that really hooked me on this series. Especially towards the end of the book. I can't wait to continue and see what new revelations come next.

Review: In this second instalment of the Undercover Dish Mystery by Julia Buckley we once again find the main character Lilah Drake caught up in the middle of a murder investigation. This death is in many ways a bigger trigger than the first one, with it happening in the parking lot of an elementary school just before Christmas, and that the victim was dressed as Santa. She has to deal with Detective Jay Parker who she has gone to extremes to avoided for the past few months having felt humiliated after their last encounter.
As I stated with the first book this is a twist on the caterer, cook or baker status quo for many of these food related cozy mysteries. It was definitely entertaining, I liked aspects, and a character from this second book better than the first. But as with most in this genre it really does follow a formula. So again it is good for semi quick light diverting read in my opinion.

Review: Even better than the first book. Less stalking from Officer Smiley, though I guess he is moving into Boyfriend Smiley territory. Interesting mystery. Fantastic bad guy/girl. Interesting book facts. More dogs. More uncles. Human Vera. Hilarious zucchini anecdotes. Can't wait to read on.

Hey Truitt, could you do me a big favor, and please give some sort of acknowledgment that you have seen the new roll each week. If you do not know what book even just a smilly face or a thumbs up reply to the post would take my worry down a significant amount. Thank you in advance.

Review: I'm slowly reading all the books in R.J. Scott and V.L. Locey's Hockey Universe (which includes several interlocking series), unsing the authors' timeline. I'm an ice hockey romance fan, so every book in the universe has worked for me to some extent, but I certainly haven't liked them all equally. This one was solid. I really liked Sebastian, and frankly preferred his POV chapters to Alex's - Alex's family drama didn't do much for me. I'll definitley continue with the series.

Glad this one was solid! I hope it provided you with a nice break from RL. How many books do you have left in the universe?

Week 3
Spot 23
Book: Across the Pond by R.J. Scott and V.L. Locey

How It Fits: Across the Pond was the second book in what's basically the third series, and is the 14th book overall. My next book is actually the fourth book from the second series - it's a novella, and too short for this challenge. But them I'm back to the third series for a while....if I didn't have the authors' website to check, I'd never keep it straight, lol.

That is likely because you tend to actually finish series.
Unlike me who has likely over a hundred of them in progress. And that is not just because they are yet to be published, but because I am such a mood reader, and jump around a lot.
🤓

Nope - no help on higher numbers. The Universe order is on the authors' website but they are NOT listed as 1-27 on GR - just the four different series. I think they probably should be listed in the authors' state reading order as well, but it hasn't happened yet. :(

It seems to take a while for series that are not extreamly popular. But you might try and look for Goodreads FAQ topics on it to see if there is a thread someplace where you can ask someone to do it. Likely not in a group, but in the 'Help' down below.

Haha, yes I used to have over 100 series on the go but I have spent the last two years trying to finish them and I am down to only 20 on the go, 6 of which I am waiting for a book to be published. But only 3 of them are longer series and one of the longer ones I have only the first book and I loathe reading series out of order. But we shall see. Maybe I can find a good one to start that order doesn't matter so much on...
Gotta have unfinished series so I can participate in this challenge. I missed a round or two (because I missed the sign ups) so I build up a few more series. This challenge allows me to catch up on all the series that I enjoy so much. It is absolutely one of my favorite challenges.
