I have yet to read anything by Keene. What's a good entry point in your opinion? :)

I read this one via audio at the beginning of the year and I really liked it. Maybe you would too? The Conqueror Worms

His zombie series which starts with

I've heard that this book helped make zombies popular again. (I think this came out a bit before The Walking Dead comics/show became popular.) I've read the first two and enjoyed them.

Anno Dracula by Kim Newman
Really fun mashup of countless characters from Gothic fiction of the past. I know the book predates this, but sometimes I felt like I was watching a long episode of

i am so obsessed with this collection. the spooky vibes were so good, and there were so many genuinely scary stories in here. i had weird dreams and everything. highly recommend.

I finished Ravenous Ghosts by Kealan Patrick Burke. This was a great bunch of dark tales and I enjoyed it.

A fun pulpy creature feature of Paperbacks from Hell: The Twisted History of '70s and '80s Horror Fiction! fame!

A very original story with very original settings and characters. Here's my review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I re-listened to

Oooh, I loved Road of Bones too!

Also finished

It was weird and gruesome and great!

ended up being about a 3.5 star read for me. the intro was cool, but it dragged really hard in the middle. wasn't really satisfied with the ending because it left a lot of unanswered questions.

I think I gave that the same rating! Maybe even less, and that is rare for me. I hated that book.

I want to read Motherthing!

Oh c'mon, you've heard of Jack London. H G Wells.

It's so good, Char!! I really enjoyed my reading experience :)

It was just okay for me. I know most in this group loved it; but the MC sucks. The vampires were awesome, and Arkeley was great. Great action scenes and violence; but that damned Laura.... ugh

ALL THE DAMN STARS.
Also, I spent half the night weeping for poor Wes.

Aww, sorry you didn't like it Char. I thought The Woman in Black was good as far as setting and atmosphere, but I've read better stories.

read this in one sitting this morning! a very gross, but enjoyable read + i had a lot of fun with it. :)

Heehee, I thought that was fun!

Unfortunately, I didn't find PACK to be as good as Fantasticland. I gave it 3 stars.

Really enjoyed this book. What are some other Scott Snyder graphic novels could I check out?
Finished Fevre Dream
Amazing!
I was so wrapped up in that world I think I'm going to feel a little bit lost tonight.

I really enjoyed the first 4-5 of this series. I haven't finished the entire series. Yet.

Yay! That's one of my all time favorites. Vampires on a steamship on the Mississippi River. It made me a GRRM fan for life. Well, that one and The Sandkings.

NICE! thanks for rec. I’ll check this out.

this one had a shaky start for me, but it didn't take long before i was completely enthralled. very fun read that gave me strong house of leaves vibes.

gave this one a 3.5 rounded to a 4. it had some tropes that i thought were annoying + it was slower than i liked, but i love malfi's characters + the underlying themes.
