If you had done it with 4 from Beth's TBR and 4 new books, you had done it right. You don't have to pick more than 8 books for the pickee if you don't want to. Most people do 16 (8 each), but doing only 8 is absolutely right.

If you gave her 8 tbr books, you would need to change that to 4 new titles and 4 tbr titles. Only 8 books are required, but they do need to be at least 4 new and 4 tbr (or preferred shelf) titles.

Thank you for wonderful categories this month! How clever and inventive with all the Peeps - which I simply LOVE! I live in Pennsylvania, the state they are made in, and I have tried all of these but the Lemonade Peeps -- I would LOVE to have some of them but they are not in our stores! Plus, the Peeps factory was backed down for a while because of Covid so we were warned that we might not get as many Peeps as possible this year, especially for the non-Easter holidays. There are still some in our stores, though, and I have been guilty of buying them!

Sorry for the confusion - I'm glad you all got it figured out.

It's important to note that the challenges has always been to recommend 4 from the preferred (or TBR) shelf and 4 new to the pickee.... but there are a lot of people who choose to make a new and TBR recommendation for each category. Please don't feel bad if you made a total of 8 recs, 4 new and 4 tbr.... you doing it just right!

I understand that eight is apparently the minimum number that can be suggested ( 4 from TBR and 4 new) and I believe rules say you only need to read one, so why must Rebecca size down if you can choose which ones you want to read of the 16 she selected?

I apologize if this is a rude question but she has given you options and probably spent some time going over your shelves and reading history to find selections you might like to read.

For years I have always thought 16 was the correct number (2 per task 1 TBR, 1 NEW). I certainly would not appreciate spending more than an hour (sometimes several if they have many books) trying to make selections for someone not interested.

Perhaps that should be part of the sign up procedure for the challenge. State if you want 8 or 16 choices. I personally look at everyone’s lists because I always find new and interesting books I might never have considered otherwise.

i COMPLETELY get it....i agree. when i first started doing this challenge i was checking the posts everyday- like awwww man.... my book picks aren't up yet. now i just try my best to ignore it ALL until the last few days or so! <3 all we can do is sit around and be patient

I am happy that most people in this group post relatively fast, at least they have in the past. (My first month back). I have another group that consistently waits till the next to last day of the month to assign partners! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤯🤷🏻‍♀️ Everyone then scrambles and even by the first of the month you might not have picks!

I have been participating in this Pick It For Me challenge on and off for years and have always chose 2 per task 1 TBR and 1 NEW. It is up to you to pick the ones you want to read. When I first saw your post asking me to remove 8 from the 16 books chosen for you I was shocked (I see you have removed this post). I spent a long time looking at your books and making sure you had not read the NEW books I had chosen.

You don't actually need to read the 16 books you can just read one and that's fine.
