MountainKat | 31593 comments Information required when posting your completion/s:

Task
Book/cover link
Page numbers with source
How book qualified, with links or cover as necessary.
Date Completed.
Rating/Review.

**Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count only! If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.**

Please note that a rating is now required in your completion posts! A small review is also welcome. 😊

MountainKat | 31593 comments I think most of you know each other, at least a little, but feel free to introduce yourself again. Please give any relevant information, especially time zone as that helps know when it is best to communicate. 😊

Please select a team leader to help keep track of where your team is in any given task. And as necessary guide discussions for task decisions. Any teammate can report your completions though.

Remember, it is the team's responsibility to notify the host (me) if a teammate fails to complete the task in a timely manner or otherwise goes missing! I am not checking all the team threads regularly to notice and may only check when notified a task is complete.

PS - If you want to be known as anything other than Team 14, you are free to come up with a team name. 😉

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 1331 comments Hey all!!!!

I think CB should be captain if she has time as she got us all together...

Team names.... I know we will probably end up meshing stuff together but some ides

Sprinting through spring
hurrying out of hibernation
Dashing through the Daisies

CB (cb33) | 1312 comments Hi, Team! I hadn’t realized the team threads were up yet, I was so busy on our other group thread 😆

I can be the team leader if you all would like me to, that’s not a problem.

I like where you are going with team names, Laura, I love a good alliteration. In addition to your suggestions, here were a couple of other quick thoughts:

Vaccination Vixens
Pandemic Pilgrims

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 675 comments Hiya, officially checking in.

I am not so good with team names but some options could be:

Racing readers
Reading our way to the top
Booking it to the finish

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Ok, are we ready for tomorrow? I wonder if we will have the same task again for the first task which is how it was last round. Or is it always like that?

I'm glad the first task will be announced around the time I get home from work so I won't be too behind. I am not able to get on the computer while at work.

Laura..devouring books like crumpets (lauzacookie) | 1331 comments I'm all over the place.... Kids schools shut down again today.... But it's the first day of orthodox lent so kite flying.... It's my brother's kids kite panathaniikos versus our olympiacos kite (2 Greek football teams) then they are all coming to ours along with parents for lent dinner.... Octopus pasta taramousalata a special bread the bakeries make today .... So don't think I will get a great deal of reading in till tonight

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Task 1: For EVERY TEAM!

With St. Patricks Day coming up, everyone is Irish! As a team select whether you are going to read books set in Ireland OR books with an Irish character OR books with a primarily green cover. Each teammate must read a book that fits the qualification selected, no pass for this task.

Please include the team selected qualification in your completion posts. Remember you need to include how you know your book qualifies! I need to know where to look to confirm your book, include any info or links as necessary. If choosing the primarily green cover, it needs to be over 50% green to be accepted. Don’t forget to use the first edition Kindle page count!

message 19: by Sassafrass (new)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Ok, so what are we going to do? What would be easier for everyone. Personally for me it's easier to do the character or the location.

message 20: by CB (new)

CB (cb33) | 1312 comments I can do any, so if someone has a strong preference towards one, I’m fine with that.

message 21: by CB (new)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Task 1: As a team read books with an Irish character.

Portrait in Death (In Death, #16) by J.D. Robb Portrait in Death
Pages: 372/GR
How it fits: shelved "hero-irish" x 2
Date completed: 3/16/21
Rating: *5 STARS

This was so good. And it doesn't matter that it's a reread. I just fell into the story just like it was the first time. And I cried just as much when Roarke has his mind blown with revelations in the story.

The mystery was awesome. Mavis had totally mag news, and Peabody making Eve's eye twitch with all of her detail about her and McNabb, lol. Somerset and his issues, the list goes on and on.

I love this series and can't wait to continue. I listen on audio and I could easily listen to Susan Ericksen again and again!

Meh. Mafia romances are a favorite sub genre of mine to read, but this book was pretty weak and felt wishy-washy to me. The heroine was portrayed as being this strong successful businesswoman, yet she was an utter doormat to the hero, who within 24 hours of their meeting was the cause of her being shot at and almost killed. And her response was to be utterly ok with the hero taking her to his home and keeping her there for weeks (what about her job that she just got promoted at, hmm?) where she utters no complaints and the two of them just continue to bang each other constantly. Yeah, I don’t think so.

I think Mac is just spiralling down the Rabbit hole.... Foes coming at her from all angles while she sieves through who she should put some trust in....

The book has some real dark aspects.. the disappearing streets, the Fae using Humans as glamour and The Dark Mac.

Hi Nikk - this is the audio version - can you please update your posting to the first kindle version? Thanks!

message 40: by CB (new)

CB (cb33) | 1312 comments And i agree, Laura - any person can post our team completion post, I think that’s a great idea to have the last person who finishes also then post the team completion post in the Q&A - we did that in our last TARC, and I think that worked well. ☺️
