Q: Can teammates read the same book for a task?
A: There are a couple of tasks where the team needs to read different books, but if it doesn't specifically say that you are free to read the same book.
Q: Are audio only books allowed for this challenge?
A: If the audio only book is at least 6 hours long - it will count as a book towards a book total or as 150 pages towards the page total depending on what the task requires.
is the read X book the team as a whole or each individual on the team? when there is read from the list of the person below you alphabetically will the last person alphabetically read from the list of the first person alphabetically?

So for 6 books, one or two teammates would need to read two/three books while the others read one. With total page counts, it can be divided up in any way. Remember that each teammate needs to participate in every task! There is a pass option that can be used once per teammate throughout the challenge, the pass is not available on some tasks though.

* Europe count separately to UK?
* is New Zealand ok, along with the other Pacific Islands? (ignoring Australia which is a continent on its own)
* and South America, separate to North America?
Finally, can we each pick a separate option (including obviously for us, Africa and Asia) or is this a team decision and only 1 continent can be selected for all to read from, even though that is not mentioned at the moment?

In the past, the requirement if you wanted to use a shelf to pick from is that it have a minimum of 10 books on it.

This is not a team decision, you can all read books set on different continents as long as they qualify. For this task, we will be using the 7 continent model as described here. (Now you can see how confused I can get!) So, the UK is part of Europe, it may not be in the EU anymore, but it is still part of the continent. North and South America are different continents. And New Zealand is part of Australia. I know there are many models of thinking about this, but this seems to divide things up the most without getting too confusing. Remember the books can be partially set on a different continent - as long as it there enough that it shows as a setting or is tagged, that is enough.

Correct. I just spelled this out a little more in answer to Jane's question above, but the important part is that the books can be partially set on the different continent- as long as it there enough that it shows as a setting or is tagged, that is enough.

If a series has been rec'd can we leave it, or should they go back and add a particular book?
I’m adding the first book of the series if a series is rec’d without a specific one in mind. I figure that works since the series rule applies to this particular task and people can read any book in that series :)

Eg Task #19: You have read How to Howl at the Moon which your teamie has on their 'read' shelf and rated 4 stars in February 2021, but you want to read How to Walk like a Man, then apply the series rule :)
Same in the reverse - they have read How to Run with the Wolves in Feb 2021 rated 4 stars, you can read How to Walk like a Man

The FAC is the Featured Author Challenge, it can be found in the monthly challenge. Prior to 2020, it was a separate challenge. I will try to remember to list the authors if that task is assigned. Try being key - hopefully that one doesn't come up late at night! 😂
