The Amazing Race Team Challenge - Round 3 - Tracking/Q&A/Announcements
for shifters would a partial shifter work? from the blurb for Matched To His Unicorn: Alpha unicorn Sterling lives in the in-between. He’s not fully human, nor is he fully shifter.
19. Each teammate reads a book another teammate read and rated 4 Stars or higher in the last 3 months. No pass for this task.Does the series rule apply to this?

Yes, that is ok.

Yes.
Ok, we have 108. As a team, select a season and read a minimum of 1500 pages of books set in that season.
You have said a list qualifies. So if we find a list of say winter themed books, does the book qualify just from being on that list or does it also need another qualifier eg tags, precis.
winter themed romances
(hope you are a MM Group member tto a cess the list;)
Also would a winter - holidays tag qualify for the above task.Lastly, if winter is in the title but it isnt set in the winter season does it still qualify as winter is in the title.

The list you provided is a GR listopia, so everyone can see it. 😊 And yes, that is enough to qualify your books. You do not need other qualifiers.

A 'winter-holidays' tag would also work for the winter season.
Winter in the title would have to be in context. If it is someone's name, it isn't going to work. Or something like "Never in Winter" isn't going to necessarily imply being set in the winter season, you would need more in a situation like that.
Hi Kat - from precis, is this enough for 'winter'?"A phone call in the middle of the night forces Detective Gabriel Wyatt out of his warm bed and into the frigid night to identify the body of a murdered man"
(Just trying to match books to other challenges ;)

Sure, I will allow that.
Amanda wrote: "Would a Semi count for a car on cover?
"No, the task calls for cars. A semi is a commercial vehicle and isn't at all close to a car. Just like a motorcycle wouldn't work if you had selected car for the task - they are all motor vehicles, but not cars.
Another FYI for you all. We are getting our second vaccine tomorrow morning. Hopefully the reaction will be mild, but I might be a little slower over the next day or so. (I always seem to be online some even when I am sick unless I am asleep. 🤷🏻♀️)
Teams 12 and 8 - I am running out the door, I should be home in a couple of hours. I will get your new tasks for you then!

Kat - another question on Task 12 - do we have to each read a book from a separate team mate? Meaning, if we have designated shelves as our recommendations, can 2 of us read a book from the recommendation shelf of the same teammate?Edit: Maybe I'm misunderstanding the task...

Truitt_T wrote: "I hope you're feeling ok today, Kat - my second vaccine wiped me out!"Thank you, we are both doing ok. We were both quite sore and tired last night and neither of us is very energetic today. But all in all, we feel pretty lucky! And luckier still to be on the other side of it now (or in a couple more weeks anyway)!
I hope you feel better! This vaccine can be really hard for some, but I would take it any day over the virus.
For the task 54. Read 6 books set on a beach or in the mountains, teams decide which, would the cover showing a them on a beach count or does it have to be tags, precis, lists?
MountainKat wrote: "In general though, books do not have to be romance for this challenge. (I would still want my happy ending no matter what I read!) Books do have to be fiction to qualify for this challenge. That would be determined in any of a number of ways, tags being the easiest."I just saw this. We have the task of reading a new-to-you author, and I'm trying to get all my challenges to play nicely with each other. Did the answer about being fiction refer specifically to the question asked about Romance, or does only fiction count? I need a non-fiction book for another challenge, and I have Dear Fahrenheit 451: Love and Heartbreak in the Stacks sitting around from the library, so was hoping to use it.

Meaning if there are mountains on the cover, but the precis clearly states the book is set in the flatlands - the book would not qualify. But if there is a beach on the cover and the precis doesn't contradict that, it would be ok.

There is a 150 page minimum for books, rereads and audios ok. Books may only be used once per player during the challenge. Players may read the same book for a task unless otherwise specified. Books do not have to be romance, but must be fiction.
So nonfiction books are not allowed for this challenge. Sorry.

Considering I just missed something in the PtP, I will not be throwing any stones!
