If it is a big city like London or New York, it is easy enough, but you are free to use the state if the home town is in the US or country if outside of the US.

MountainKat | 31598 comments How is everyone doing? Ready for tomorrow?! (I hope I am!)

Just a reminder, everyone needs to make sure they are following and getting notifications for their team threads! And it is not a bad idea to be following this thread either. This is where I will be making any announcements that might affect everyone - like if I'm going to be away from the computer for an extended period of time or something similar. This is also where the first task will be announced tomorrow!

Is this a team decision? Do we all have to read the same letter or can anyone read for any other teammates screen name?

⚚♆ Cynthia ♆⚚ Hi Kat! For task 12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this task, you mentioned that if we pick a shelf it has to have a minimum of 10 books, but is there a maximum?

MountainKat | 31598 comments Laura wrote: "Hi Mkat, for task 76. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item.- is male model showing bare chest specific enough for that task?"

Let me answer this by a couple of examples I remember giving with this task before to help everyone thinking about this task - a weapon is not specific, a gun is specific; jewelry is not specific, a necklace is specific. So, with those examples I would want something a little more specific than your example. But if you narrowed it down a little more - chest hair, six-pack abs or something, that would be better.

No, but I wouldn't advise using a list that is too large! It is hard to pick from lists with hundreds of books on them! Not to mention that you might not get something you want to read right now.

MountainKat | 31598 comments Sorry for making you wait - was just scheduling our Covid vaccinations!! 🥳🥳🥳

message 77: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31598 comments Task 1: For EVERY TEAM!

With St. Patricks Day coming up, everyone is Irish! As a team select whether you are going to read books set in Ireland OR books with an Irish character OR books with a primarily green cover. Each teammate must read a book that fits the qualification selected, no pass for this task.

Please include the team selected qualification in your completion posts. Remember you need to include how you know your book qualifies! I need to know where to look to confirm your book, include any info or links as necessary. If choosing the primarily green cover, it needs to be over 50% green to be accepted. Don’t forget to use the first edition Kindle page count!

If they are considered Irish - with some way for you to show it, that will work.

Roger, I think you can only see it if you a member of the group.

I only use TinEye if it is close. But you are free to ask about specific covers.

I can see that list, but quick glances at the listed books show qualifications in the prices or tags. I would prefer those be used if possible because anyone could see the qualification, not just members of that group. Thanks!

You post your completions in your team thread. When the team is finished with the assigned task, then someone posts here and I go to check the posts and will assign the next task in the team thread.

And congrats!

Having Ireland in the setting of the book details absolutely works!

What if we only have two letters between the four of us? There are two S's and two L's? Would the S's have to use the L's and vice versa?

Actually, in this case you are kind of lucky. You can all use S or L, because you would have a teammate's screen name that will work. If the team was A, K, S and L as an example, then A could only use K, S or L but S could only use A, K or L. I hope that helps.

Perhaps in context. Without more info to know whether the mafia was Irish vs. Italian or Russian, I would say no. It is too ambiguous on it's own.
