Would this book cover work for green?
It looks over 50% green when I enlarge the cover, but I want to double check.

Hi Kat! Would the tag "irish" work for Irish character? I might read Darkfever but I cannot see from the blurb if any character is Irish. Being set in Ireland, I am hoping there will be some but I want to double-check before starting.
Jeydon wrote: "For an Irish Character, do you require a tag/info in blurb or could I use a paragraph and location in book as proof?"Timing is everything! I just addressed this in your team thread. 😂
I will answer here so everyone can see though. You can't use a quote from the book as there is no way for me to confirm that without the book itself. I need something I can check - in the precis, tags or lists. If you are doing the setting qualification, then having that information in the book details would also work.

Saw it just now 😂 But thank you for addressing it for everyone.

If you are using the green cover as your qualification for this task, please make sure you include the qualifying cover in your completion posts!! That is what I will be checking to confirm your books. 😊

Totally understand! Irish hottie as a tag?
Can I get this approved for green cover? Tineye says its over 60% but says the exact same cover is barely green for a different edition lol.

"Weird, but that works.
Is this green enough?
Tineye has black as the top color, but most of the rest as shades of green. Not sure if we're supposed to have the highest color be green or not.

"Hmmm, hard to tell if that is really dark green or black... But I'm going to say yes, because that was my first thought.

Thanks!👍
I'm going to do Judgment in Death. It fits this task and option 2 for PtP. To double check...for page count, i need to use the 1st edition kindle, but I can use any cover? It doesn't have to be the 1st kindle edition, right?
Trio wrote: "hi KatGreen Cover?

hopefully one of them will work, thanks!"
I'm mostly going with first thoughts here, though I did check TinEye to confirm a couple.
- Yes, that is one TinEye gave you - I don't use the names of their colors, I just add up the percentages of the green colors.
- Yes
- No, too much blue and black.
- Yes

To answer your specific question, yes you can use any edition cover for the qualifier, as long as it is an actual cover. You still need to use the first edition Kindle page count though. 😊
And just to clarify for everyone - you can't use the stock covers sometimes shown here on GR as a qualifying cover. This one even says it is not an actual book cover. In this case there is another edition that does qualify.

Ah ha! i found it...lmbo. Karen told me she saw my post, but I couldn't find it b/c i thought I posted in our team thread. That's what happens when I'm half asleep.
Thanks for answering my question, Kat. Karen shared the book cover that would qualify.
Chan wrote: "That's what happens when I'm half asleep."I was wondering why you were up!! Actually, I'm wondering why I'm up and it's 3 hours earlier here! 😴

Well that's a relief, lol. I'd just finished reading it when I saw my team captain Filipa had asked about the cover.

thanks Kat!

Hope it is as I’m half way through it so will have to come up with plan B quick fast 😂😂

My apologies! Yes, that one works.
Notice to everyone!I am expecting that several teams will be ready for their next task soon and I would typically be assigning them in the morning as that would be the first time possible under the rules. However tomorrow morning my hubby and I are going down to get our Covid vaccinations! Needless to say, that wins over this challenge. 😉 I expect I will be home before noon my time - nothing is quick when you live in the boonies! I will get on my computer as soon after that as possible. 😊
What is the standard for the check in post? What all needs to be in this post? Just a link to the overall team completion post for or a separate link to each members completion post? This is my first time captaining and just want to make sure I do it right.
Katelyn wrote: "What is the standard for the check in post? What all needs to be in this post? Just a link to the overall team completion post for or a separate link to each members completion post? This is my fir..."Honestly, just saying 'Team X has completed their task' is enough to get me to the team thread. 😊 Some teams have posted links to a message in the team thread when the completion posts are listed and that can be helpful too. Whatever is easiest for you.
And anyone can post here that the team has completed the task, it doesn't have to be the captain/leader.
A couple questions for when you get the chance:For tasks that have to do with reading a certain sub-genre, does M/M Romance count as a sub-genre of Romance?
For this task: 92. Read over 1500 pages in books set in the future or the past - How far into the past does the book need to be set in to qualify?

Yes, MM romance is a sub-genre. 😊
Books need to be set 50+ years in the past to work for that task or marked as a historical.
Hey, I have a teammate wondering if it has to be the cover of the actual book she's reading that's green to work or if any cover for the same book works?
Gustaf wrote: "Hey, I have a teammate wondering if it has to be the cover of the actual book she's reading that's green to work or if any cover for the same book works?"She answered this...I think. It's early...Here

Oh no, I thought I checked but was in class so probably not well enough lol.
Thanks Shannon. Yes, any cover can be used to qualify, just not the GR stock covers. We are walking out the door, so I will check the teams' completions when I get home. 😊
