I'm excited for another round of bookshelf bingo. I've played a few times but I don't think my team has ever won. Not a problem because it's always a lot of fun and I find so many amazing books others have read to add to my to read list.
Can't wait to play this round with you all :)

I ve played many times and just love this game. I get so many recs to add to my tbr.

I'm Angie. I live in the Eastern US in Tennessee. I also work in Accounting with a large corporation. I've played bingo several times and always love it. Looking forward to playing with this team!

I prefer not to be captain, if someone else wants to or is willing.

Yes it was for Bingo! I prefer to not be captain either, lol. Hopefully Rosina or Kate might like to.
I'm not super creative...the only name I have come up with so far is taking the first letter of each of our names "Team KARL" Ha Ha...I will think on it some more.

I usually just wing it and pick something once the shelf is called. I never know what I might be in the mood for, lol.
And thank you so much Rosina for being our wonderful team captain!!!

I'm not usually a planner. But this time I do hope to read the Ilona Andrews book I bought recently but haven't gotten around to yet.

I will be reading Here Be Sexist Vampires

I'll be reading On Dublin Street by Samantha Young (shelved 87 times as book boyfriend)

Review:Interesting take on vampires, each has their own special 'gift' or power...made for some interesting battle sequences. I really enjoy strong female characters and Sam was definitely a kick-ass vampire. The love story was just ok for me...the sexist vampire from the book title was a little over the top. Overall, I really enjoyed the concept of this vampire world even though this book seemed more of an introduction to it. I'm sure there is much more to tell and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Review:
Some books it's love at first line and with others you can get off on the wrong foot. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the right mood for this book or what it was but it took me a very long time to stop being irrationally annoyed by the main characters. From the first time we met them there was just something I didn't like. Since I read for characters first and plot second - it was a bit of a hard slog.
I liked the setting and some of the secondary cast were fun (pretty much for the first 70% of the book I just kept reading because of bingo and because I wanted to know what happened with Ellie) but I just couldn't bring myself to care about either Joss or Braden. They felt a little bit snobby and better than everyone else.
But I persevered and by the end I was enjoying the story and was happy with how everything turned out for both Joss and Braden. Joss' imperfections and emotional baggage did make her a bit difficult to like at times but for me I found that her vulnerability was what ultimately made me want to know how things ended. But she's a hard person to get to like. Some goes for Braden. He just reminded me too much of people I've met and couldn't stand. But the sexier scenes were hot and by the end of On Dublin Street I enjoyed how everything tied up. Needless to say I won't be continuing with the series but I can see why so many people did like the book. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

Review:
I have to admit that when I started reading I was a little nervous. I had loved the Kate Daniels books a lot and I didn't know what to expect from the Aurelia Ryder spinoff. There was no need for concern - this book was fantastic. It had everything that I have come to love and expect from an Ilona Andrew novel and more.
Aurelia Ryder (aka Kate and Curran's adoptive daughter Julie) is back in Atlanta on a secret mission to take down a mysterious threat. She's grown up into a badass like her parents (and grandparents too) and will do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones. She's a little older, grittier and darker than she was as a teen still has her fighter spirit I admired in her from before.
I think the best thing about this book was how life happens. We may have taken a few years away from this world but the characters were still living their lives. They have new secrets and pasts we have no clue about and will no doubt have some fun exploring. Things have clearly happened to them and shaped who they are and the mystery of guessing what's going on is still there despite being familiar with the characters and the world. I also loved how everything isn't just black and white - there's a whole spectrum. People aren't just good or just evil. They multifaceted and there is so much going on. I always get the feeling that you could pluck any character from the world and have them tell their story because everyone feels like they do have their own stuff. No one exists solely for the purpose of the main character needing something from them.
I feel like there's so much I want to say but I don't want to say too much because part of what I loved so much was not knowing what was going to happen. I can not wait for the next book. The only problem with having read this one so close to the release date is that there's so much longer to wait till the next installment.

Review:
There is always a lot happening in an In Death book and this one no exception. The case was an interesting spin with the antagonist using the methods of famous serial killers. The personal side of this one was really intense - a couple of really touching things were going on that I won't mention. :-)
Always love these books, some better than others. This was one of those that I loved for the personal touches! The case wasn't a let down either! It's hard to go wrong reading with Eve/Roark!
