Watcha' Doing - 2021
It feels like a week has gone by and not just a couple of days. But it was good news!First, they did a radial artery (wrist) instead of a femoral artery (groin) puncture for the angiogram. It's a relatively new process for cranial angiograms, though they have done them for cardiac ones. I had the luck of the draw in that I got the only radiologist at the U of A Hospital who does them!
The recovery from that is 100% better for everyone, not just the patient. They seal the puncture with a band that goes around the wrist. It has a bladder that is filled with air until enough pressure is there to stop any bleeding. After an hour, they remove 2 mls of air every 15 minutes until there is no more air left and it's removed. Instead of laying flat on your back, unable to lift your head or bend your knees, you can sit up, bend your knees, and move your arms. You just can't put pressure on the hand where the puncture is.
I saw the neurologist the next day, and he showed us the before and after pictures. The aneurism has significantly reduced in size, but there is still a bit of bleeding going into it. I've been taken off the blood thinner which may stop the bleeding. In 6 months, I'll have another angiogram. If it's stopped, it will be considered a cure. If not, I will have to have another stent.
So great news.

Great news!!!!
Great news, Janice! Looks like it was meant to be with you getting delays and lucking out with the right radiologist. :)

It wasn't always that way for me, but it sure is now! ...."Ah, how we all love getting older!! Jet lag was easier, time change was easier.....honestly....stairs were easier!! lol
And the fall one bugs me too, though it is easier because I can just keep the same schedule and be up early.

That IS great news, Janice. Welcome back.
Glad it went so well, Janice. And that the procedure was so much easier than you were expecting. Lovely to have you back :)
I've been excitedly picking up secondhand bargains this week for my new home when it eventually goes through. I am starting to sew some cushion covers too today. All keeps me busy. Less than a month now until the boat will (hopefully) be mine.
Sounds like an exciting time for you, Sarah. I can relate to that. We're fixing up (slightly) our house before we put it up for sale. We need to buy a new place (cross country in Austin Texas) before we can sell the one we have. The painters/fixers finished yesterday. We've been trying to purge our excess stuff as we go along. Wish we lived closer. There's a lot of good stuff you could go through, all in good condition. Too far for a field trip?
Haha, yeah a little too far unfortunately. The charity shops and car boot sales open up again on 12th April so I should be able to pick up any odds and ends I still need.

Hope it all goes through smoothly for you 🙏
@Roz, hope you get a buyer some. It's a pain trying to sell, we're in the process of selling Mums house at the moment and having holdups about rights of way. Contracts are almost signed so fingers crossed!
Whilst I have found a new home Margo, I still hqvr to wait for the survey to be done. I think it will be fine but you never know. So i'm a bit in limbo. Only 4 weeks to wait though now.
Ooh, this is the hard part! I hate uncertainty but as long as you are are busy planning and making it will fly by and then you'll have the excitement of moving in!
Well, I will vanish again sometime in the next 48 hours. Round one of my Sock competition is about to start. So many knitters this year. We are divided into 26 teams. There usually are around 45-50 knitters per team. This year we are around 60. So more knitters eliminated every rounds. It is so hard to believe that over 1500 knitters qualified. This probably means that over 2000 registered. I know it's worldwide but still. This is a lot of crazy sock knitters. :)

I moved into my friend's boat at the weekend. It is great being back on the canal, just in time for the freakishly warm weather (for this time of year) we had on Tuesday and Wednesday. I actually got a bit of sunburn! Only 3 weeks now until my boat is surveyed. I really am counting the days.
I am visiting my daughter right now and she volunteers with one of the local animal rescues. Today she ( we) are getting a mama cat with three little kittens. They aren’t doing so well right now but with some TLC hopefully will perk up a bit. Their room will be my new reading spot so they get used to having humans around. I’ll be knee deep in adorableness.
That seems like such a long wait for a survey, Sarah. I'm glad you were able to get back on the water for the good weather, even if it isn't on your own boat yet. That survey is creeping closer and you'll be on your boat in no time.
That's sweet, Marnie. So good of your daughter to foster. Hope all the kitties perk up quickly and you're able to get some reading done without being too distracted by all the cuteness.

It's because we're still on lockdown here and the boatyard where the boat will be craned out are on furlough. 20th is the earliest that can happen and have the survey and subsequent work done on it without incuring additional costs.

Oh, that makes sense, Sarah. Man... this covid certainly has some wide ripple effects. I'm sure it will be here before you know it. How is the shopping going? Any great finds or deals?

I've bought a few prints to frame for the wall too. Holding off until nearer the time now to buy anything else as I don't have much space to store it.

About those colored bras....did you have to buy one specially for the occasion or was it just one that was hanging out in the drawer? Neon green? Fuchia ..."
Umm... one of my friends wears them all the time, so they were hanging out in her drawer. LOL!
