Kristie | 19136 comments I just want to put this out there - I was talking about some runs I was doing earlier in this thread and added links to some of the sites I've used for virtual runs. One of the sites was called Virtual Run and they had some less expensive runs so I suggested it.

However, I ordered 8 runs from them and only received 2. Two of the runs are no longer offered on their site, so I wanted to find out if I would still be receiving them or if I needed to choose something different or basically just how they wanted to handle it. I sent four emails so far and have not yet heard back from them. Yet, they managed to send the shipping info for the two I did receive to my credit card company, so it looks like I received my order when I really only received a small part. I ended up having to cancel the order, since no one can tell me the status or availability or even respond to my messages. Now I'm having to fight through my credit card company to get a refund.

I mention all of this because I feel a bit guilty for putting their info out there on this thread. I want to make sure no one uses this company because they think I would recommend them. I absolutely do not recommend using this company and would suggest avoiding them if you are interested in participating virtual runs. I'd rather spend more money and support a cause and actually receive my items.

Update: I went back and removed the link from my previous comment in the thread.

I hate when you need to solve a problem and the company doesn't take responsibility, or at least it's willing to help.

message 618: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments Yes, it's been pretty frustrating. I don't want anyone else to have to go through this, so I figured I mention it.

message 619: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Oh that's super annoying, Kristie. Thanks for letting us know. I hate companies like that.

I just saw the post about Janice. Thanks for the update, Rusalka. I'll be praying for her, too.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments *** Public Service Announcement! ***

Peggy, Sarah, Kristie, and I are following up on all the Yearly Challenge stuff while Janice is away. Last thing she needs when she comes back is a pile of stuff to do.

Your patience is greatly appreciated as we (read "I") ask you bleeding obvious questions. I know you have worked out what you are doing with Janice, but bare with us so we don't loose anyone's progress and double check what your process is.

Thanks guys!

Thanks Jayme! Really appreciate the offer, we'll let you know. At the moment patience while we work things out is awesome.

But also wanted to let you all know why I have been asking random questions on people's threads today :D

I figure as much. If you need a hand here and there, let me know, As I have not been kicked out of my sock knitting competition I will be MIA again, probably around next weekend. But in the meantime, I have time and no life (still on lockdown with a 20h00 curfew)

Marnie (marnie19) | 3259 comments I second what Sandra said- thank you mods for stepping up and will do my best not to add any curveballs your way. Whatever I can do to make it easier for y’all just let me know.

Thinking what a beautiful group of humans spend time in YLTO.

message 633: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Thanks everyone for being one of the loveliest spaces on the internet. I had no doubt you'd all be wonderful and understanding. It was more keeping you all in the loop of what we are muddling through.

message 634: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Happy Easter to those who celebrate, either for the festival or the chocolate.

message 635: by Trudy (new)

Trudy (trudyan) | 1779 comments It was with significant trepidation that I came to this thread, after noticing that Rusalka was tracking the annual challenge books instead of Janice.

Janice, I am so sorry to learn of your health issues, and I wish you a very speedy and full recovery.

Thanks so much to the other mods for keeping us in the loop, and for filling Janice's very big role in this group.

Sarah | 18549 comments You guys are great!

message 640: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Just last week it was 26C and the warmest March day ever measured.

Today it's snowing (with rain, hail, wind and sun in between as well. Literally four seasons in one day!)

It really is the weirdest weather.

message 641: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 18549 comments It has been the same here Peggy. It is blowing a hoolie right now. I was onlly sat out on the towpath on Sunday in a tshirt and got a bit of sunburn. It was -3C overnight last night! Brr.

message 642: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19136 comments We've been having a lot of fluctuating weather too. Fortunately, it is the opposite for us and today is a beautiful day.

message 643: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments We had something similar at the end of February. One weekend it froze for several days, -15 during the night, people were iceskating on rivers and canals. Next weekend it was 20C and sunny and we were walking around in a tshirt.

message 644: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11259 comments It's been beautiful here, and I've been working a lot in my garden. It won't last, though, so just making the most of it.

message 645: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm jealous Sandra!

At least yesterday the snow melted as soon as it hit the ground. Now everything is white! This is SO depressing and is NOT good for my mood. I stayed in bed for an extra half hour this morning because I just didn't want to get up.

message 646: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 2648 comments We've had 3 days of snow and hail and it's not even cold outside. I've bought my Japanese maples yesterday to set outside, but I've kept them now in my kitchen. I can't wait to do some gardening...

message 647: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11259 comments @Saar, Japanese maple are beautiful!

message 648: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11259 comments @Peggy, I'm sorry to hear that. I hate wind and hail, but I like snow.
Are you still sketching? Maybe your patio offers a different look that is worth sketching.

message 649: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 2648 comments @Sandra: yes, I'm so happy with them. Can't wait to see how they're looking when they are bigger.

We have a dwarf one and the colour changes it goes through are truly awesome :-)
