Catherine Cavendish | 314 comments Lambs Among Wolves Russell James Lambs Among Wolves by Russell James I always enjoy Russell James's books and this was no exception - great storytelling, set in some fascinating European locations, and featuring a maverick priest, demonic possession, exorcism and plenty of suspense to ratchet up the excitement.

A great adventure story with plenty of thrills, humour, banter and tension

message 361: by Badseedgirl (new)

Badseedgirl | 1033 comments Maybe because I listened to the audiobook, but I liked Kill the Farm Boy by Delilah S. Dawson and Kevin Hearne much more than most of the people who reviewed the book.

message 362: by Char (new)

Char | 17459 comments I tried to listen to that one, and I just couldn't get into it.

I enjoyed it as a summer read, I might have found it too ridiculous if I had tried to read it in the fall/winter. Does that make any sense?

I LOVED Uzumaki, but Tomie, not so much. I also just read GYO, but so far, I think Uzumaki is my favorite.

I loved Ketchum's The Girl Next Door as well.

Ryan Johnson (whatryansreading) | 16 comments Just finished The House of a Hundred Whispers. It starts so well, but I don't know why every haunted house story has to have some kind of wild twist to be fun. I just want an old fashioned "Folks go to a house and ghosts do stuff" story, but everyone always has to throw in extra dimensions or time travel or eldritch horrors into the mix and muddle the pie. Plus, the climax of this book is one of THE most laughable things I've ever read in a horror novel. The word "Honda" should not appear so much in a moody haunted house novel.

Dollie | 73 comments I'm currently reading If It Bleeds. I haven't read any Stephen King for a while and am so happy to be reading more of his short stories. They're the best. He is the Man! (The Scary Man) I'm currently reading Rat. I live in Falmouth, Maine, a couple of miles from the entrance ramp to I-295. He really brings the horror home to me! Thank you, SK!

Ryan Johnson (whatryansreading) | 16 comments Just finished The Final Girl Support Group and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. So much of Hendrix feels fun, but slight, by the end, but this is one of the first times I felt like he was writing something with meat, with a backbone, and at the end of the day with a message. I could tell he cared deeply about what he was writing here, and though not perfect I feel like it's probably the best thing he's written.

Annoying is the only way I can describe it. I guess this is why I don't read stalker based novels all that often, I just find the main character hard to take.

message 394: by Peter (new)

Peter Topside I've knocked through an all time personal record of 51 so far (One is read and reviewed, but not uploaded to Goodreads yet by the author.), which I'm really pleased about.

Char | 17459 comments MjA wrote: "How do I put up link to the book I have read or the book cover like above??"

Click above the box in which you're typing, "add book/author."
Then you can type in the title of the book, (and sometimes the author's last name, if it doesn't come up by title) and then select it. At the bottom you can choose between posting the title or posting the cover. Click which you would like and that will post it for you.
