A book whose title starts with "Q" or "X" or "Z"

That's fun! And difficult! I still have the last two Sue Grafton books left to read, so I could go with X.

Listopia for books whose titles start with Q, X, or Z

Brandi (blkreutz) | 9 comments I’ll be reading “Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking.”
It came highly recommended by my best reader friend, also an introvert.

Brandon Harbeke | 696 comments Quicksilver by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens is a great thriller set in the Pentagon.

Quillifer by Walter Jon Williams and X-Men: The Art and Making of The Animated Series by Eric Lewald are both on my TBR list.

message 8: by Dixie (new)

Dixie (dixietenny) I'm considering Qualityland, xkcd: volume 0, or Zeroville for this. If you're of a certain age and want something that makes you laugh, try Zingers From the Hollywood Squares!

message 11: by Ellie (new)

Ellie (patchworkbunny) | 1756 comments I have Q on my TBR and want to read Zeus is a Dick and Zero Sum Game.

message 18: by Britany (new)

Britany | 1698 comments Darn it! I read 2 Q books this year-- Queenie & The Queen of Hearts -- hate it when that happens for a tougher prompt!

Fannie D'Ascola | 438 comments I have Zodiac on my TBR

message 20: by K.L. (new)

K.L. Middleton (theunapologeticbookworm) | 847 comments I think I'm going to go with Zombies Vs. Unicorns for this prompt. The title is just too good to resist.

message 21: by SadieReadsAgain (new)

SadieReadsAgain (sadiestartsagain) | 767 comments I'm hoping I can get hold of The Zookeeper's Wife for this, otherwise I got nothing! Nothing on my shelves, nothing on my Kindle, nothing even on my library lists...

Drakeryn | 708 comments Looking through my book list, it looks like I've never read a book that starts with X or Z, unless it's a childhood book I've forgotten. I've read exactly one Q book (Queen of Blades) but it was terrible.

So this prompt is pretty cool! Very interested in Zoo City and S.L. Huang's Zero Sum Game, and I also have The Queen of Nothing on my TBR.

message 23: by Adrianne (new)

Adrianne | 3 comments Zoo is on my TBR list. Can't wait to get to this one!

message 24: by Brandon (new)

Brandon Harbeke | 696 comments There is a Star Trek Zero Sum Game by David Mack who like sci-fi thrillers and/or the Breen.

message 28: by Megan (new)

Megan (oreodont) | 56 comments I read XVI a few years ago for a similar challenge. It's a YA dystopia in which you get an XVI tattoo when you turn 16.

message 29: by Lilith (new)

Lilith (lilithp) | 1073 comments Quicksand is also on my TBR.

message 31: by Marie-Eve (new)

Marie-Eve Mailhot (indieegirll) | 139 comments I read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry Into Values in university for part of my Masters thesis...

it's different, but it's a nice travel novel that takes you on a trip across America's Northwest.

I might go ahead with Queens of Geek, mostly cause it looks like a fun read, and it's at a convention. Or The Queen of the Damned but would I need to read the 2 previous book to understand what's going on? I read Interview With a Vampire a long time ago, but i dont remember it well, and i never read second book.

message 38: by Kiley (last edited Dec 21, 2020 12:10PM) (new)

Kiley Young (booksonthecouch) | 2 comments I'm not at all opposed to doubling up because I don't want this list of books to be the only books I read, so some on my list:
The American Dream & The Zoo Story (For Zoo Story- also a play/format I don't often read)
Zone One (also [potentially?] afrofuturism and a book by a Scorpio author)
Zeitoun (also among the books that have been on my TBR for the longest)

message 40: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sel123) | 21 comments I think that I might pick up The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1) by Erika Johansen . I don't see it here but I think there is an Olive Edition that came out last year.

message 43: by JessicaMHR (new)

JessicaMHR | 576 comments For those of you who want a more Chick-lit, Southern, Romance type of book (which non of these others seem like they are) give Queen Bee by Dorothea Benton Frank a chance. She is one of my favorite authors, who I just found out died last year :'( and this is her last novel.

But it doesn’t START with the letter Z, as the prompt specifies. 😉

I just finished reading this a couple of days ago! Found it good and I'll definitely read the entire series.

message 48: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Morrison | 145 comments I thought this would for sure be something I put off until the very end, but here we are January 8th and I’ve already checked this one off. I read x + y: A Mathematician's Manifesto for Rethinking Gender. I’m not into math, but this was definitely an interesting take on gender.
