Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments I've gone ahead with the Team Dynamic Divas for now. We can change it if we come up with another name.

Quick link to the tracking spreadsheet.

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Hi everyone!

I'm happy with the name :) Can't wait to see what the toppler will be about!

Anne  (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments Hi ladies! {{Waving}}

My fingers have a mind of their own and typed Dynamic Book Divas in the other thread; seems they know me pretty well, lol.

I'll be willing to be a cheer leader or whatever you need. Also am a fast reader - I read 8 books in my last toppler. Dad and I have Dr. appointments toppler week - I'll read to him. {{{grins}}}

message 5: by Tasha (new)

Tasha Hi guys! I'm happy with the name and excited to be doing another toppler! :D

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Hi all!

I am more than happy with the team name. How organised are we already? :D

I think this will be a great toppler. I am not much good at organising spreadsheets and so on but I am willing to be a cheerleader if needed. Not sure how many books I will be able to read during the week but I am hoping it will be 3 at least. I read 4 during the last team toppler so will see how it goes this time.

message 7: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments What does a cheerleader do? Post supportive pictures?

I'm afraid I won't be much use for planning this time. I leave on holiday Wednesday until next week Thursday so can't do planning stuff if we start that this week already. During toppler week I'm away to a conference for two days.

During my holiday and the conference I can check the thread on my phone and post short messages, but I can't do more complicated things like making excel sheets or tracking things.

I hope I can read 2 books.

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments Yes, Peggy - cheer leaders post great pictures (at least Almeta and Laura did).

I can help organize, Janice.

message 9: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I'll probably be able to read 2. I'll try for another if it looks like I can squeeze it in.

message 10: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I'm gunshy about committing to more than one or two books, but the last couple of topplers I've read 5 and 4 respectively. I'll do the best I can.

message 11: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Enjoy your holiday Peggy! Are you going somewhere warm and sunny?

message 12: by Tasha (new)

Tasha oh yeah, of course! ^^^ enjoy the time away. I missed that in my excitement about the toppler. ;D

message 13: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments I'm probably going to miss the first weekend because it's my parent's 63 anniversary on the 9th, so I'll be online only sporadically over the weekend, and reading by audiobook on the road. If needs be, I can do up a spreadsheet but only as a last resort.

message 14: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Hello! I went to sleep and work and then logged in at lunch time to this. What a pleasant surprise!!

I am trying to get my life sorted out, and then my reading life sorted out (I haven't reviewed a book since the middle of the Oct Toppler! That's terrible!), and we are good for Toppler go!!

Really looking forward to playing with you all. Looking like a great little team!

message 15: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Oh. I can usually do two books. But then I tend to get carried away and do 3-4, but I'm committing to two until I know what we are doing and what I am reading.

message 16: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments I'm going to commit to 2 books as well. Once the tasks are up and I can see what I've got on my lists, I may be able to do more.

message 17: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Hi, Team!

I can also commit to two books, but I'll aim for more.

message 18: by Anne (Booklady) (new)

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments I can commit to 4 books as of now. Dad and I have Dr Appts and I'm starting PT again 2/9 - don't ever break a hip ladies =(

message 19: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments Broken hips are serious business. Keep doing the things you need to do to heal, Anne.

Janice, when I first began PT after surgery the Doc told me it would take 20 - 24 months to heal because I broke the high bone in the hip. 3 rods and a plate - I'll beep when I fly now, lol.

message 21: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments I've been beeping for a few years now. I have a metal knee. I'm resigned to being frisked every time I fly now. One was very thorough and felt the fly in my jeans from both sides. Nothing like having a guard's hand down your pants. I was just happy that I wasn't wearing an underwire bra!

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments We're going to Madeira :)

If we're committing to books then put me down for 1. I can usually read 2 during toppler week, but now I've got two days less for reading, so I'd feel better to know what my first book will be before signing up for more.

message 26: by Poongothai (new)

Poongothai (poongsa) | 483 comments Hi team,

The team name is good.

I commit to read 3 books.

I will commit to 3 books for now.

I hope your hip starts getting better with PT Anne. Broken hips are tricky so keep on taking good care of yourself.

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments Hi all! I'm so excited for my second toppler! This looks like a great team too!

I will be glad to create a spreadsheet for our team. I don't get online much if at all on weekends though, so I might not be great at keeping it updated on the weekend. My home computer is junk and I don't much like the GR app so I pretty much only get online during breaks at work. Speaking of, I need to get back to it. :-/

message 30: by Tasha (new)

Tasha thanks for volunteering for the spreadsheet! I did it once and it wasn't so bad but I have to admit to looking forward to doing a toppler this time and just reading. :)

message 31: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Thanks KimeyDiann!

I think it will be okay even with not so much time in the weekend, but if it turns out to be a bit too much after all, perhaps give a second person access to the sheet so she can do some weekend updates?

message 32: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments No problem. I'm one of those nerdy people that enjoy creating spreadsheets. lol.

Tasha KimeyDiann wrote: "No problem. I'm one of those nerdy people that enjoy creating spreadsheets. lol."

I hate spreadsheet creating, although it's nice to have them, but I was surprised at how generally easy it was. It still took me time to figure it out but I expected horrible things and it actually turned out to be not so bad. Although, honestly, it had it's problems but no one seemed to notice. Or at least they were nice enough not to mention it. ;)

Oh, I don't want you all to think that I'm taking a backseat and letting everyone else figure this thing out. I will help of course, just happy not to be doing the spreadsheet. lol

I know! The suspense is killing me! ;) We usually have around 2 weeks to plan and gopher books so I reckon it will be sometime this week. *fingers crossed*

message 38: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments @Tasha, I've never used the google docs spreadsheets which is what I saw the teams using last time but I assume I can figure it out. I'll make sure someone else has access to it in case I'm not able to update it on the weekends.

@Lisa, my fingers are crossed!

message 39: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19204 comments Google docs is really easy. It's like excel (just a bit less functionality - ie. not as many pretty colours and styles) in google. You need a gmail account, but otherwise you are fine.

I am happy to help with spreadsheety goodness. I do know that some team mates get frustrated with my time difference though, so I should do this with someone. But then, I am so happy if you guys want to run with it. Last time I did it, I kinda forgot about moding the rest of the group. PFft! It's Toppler time, what other threads!

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments We have a dynamic duo of divas to do the spreadsheet. Now, who is our fearless leader?

message 42: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I don't mind being a leader, just not sure what I have to do.

message 43: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments Also, who is our cheerleader going to be?

message 44: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59887 comments Leader will have to keep us unruly lot in order. Do you have a big stick, Tasha?

I can be one of the cheerleaders. I think we should have a few cheerleaders.

message 45: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments Until we know what the task is, it's anybody's guess, Tasha. The "leader" directs the activity, so we don't all trip over each other and inadvertently duplicate work. Like a coach, the leader makes sure all the bases are covered. Think of it as a cross between Ringmaster at the circus, tour manager, and chief cat-herder. It is good if the leader is able to check in several times a day.

message 48: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments Chief cat-herder! I love it!

message 49: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I've been in a few team-topplers already, but all my groups ever had was someone making and updating the spreadsheet, and someone keeping track of the reporting thread during the actual toppler.

I'm curious what it will be like with leaders and cheerleaders! I can do some cheerleading every now and then, but I will check goodreads mostly on my phone during that week, and can't post pictures from there.

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 1282 comments I am a good cat herder and I can cheer lead =)
