What a great cover for Murder on the Rocks! LOL!

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I have to withdraw Moon Called Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs . She has her head on and J`mom said a torso may not have a head.

Later tonight, I'll take more of a look. I have to concentrate on working today.

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 2277 comments i have Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells which is on Anne (Booklady's) TBR list that would fit clubbing

message 104: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments I'm not sure about torso either. I have a book that shows neck to feet I think.

For hobbies, I could do series, new author or someone elses tbr. I need to check in more detail for geek or crafts.

message 105: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments For body parts I can do any, but have a ton of torsos.
Location is harder for me, but I can easily do outer space
Hobby is a category in which I should be able to find a book for any type

And if anyone wants to look for books they'd like to read on my TBR, it is quite large: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 106: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Sorry, can't edit, but I wrote before I could do all locations, but I would have to check to be sure of Africa and South America, especially if I go for short books so I can try to read two.

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Does anyone have a book for Crafting or Role Play Games?

message 108: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments I'm planning to choose from these:

Torso: No Place to Run (KGI, #2) by Maya Banks or Hell on Wheels (Black Knights Inc., #1) by Julie Ann Walker or The Seduction Of Elliot McBride (MacKenzies & McBrides, #5) by Jennifer Ashley or Fury of Ice (Dragonfury, #2) by Coreene Callahan
Spaceship/planet: Ark Royal (Ark Royal, #1) by Christopher Nuttall or Use of Weapons (Culture, #3) by Iain M. Banks
Gun hobby: Alien in the Family (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #3) by Gini Koch
Geek/gamer: Neanderthal Seeks Human A Smart Romance (Knitting in the City, #1) by Penny Reid or A Different Witch (A Modern Witch, #5) by Debora Geary

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Lara, I'd say you have Torso pegged! ;)

:-) The headless torso cover has been so overdone. I have waaaay too many of them. But they help for challenges like this one.

message 111: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments Crafting is a common theme in cozy mysteries. I could probably find something.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Let me finish my coffee and I'll start a spreadsheet for us. I also have to remember my goodreads associated account...

I'll add editing permissions as well so there are a few of us who can add/edit while I sleep. Makes me sound like a vampire...

I think it has to be a PAIR of eyes. I do like that cover though.

message 118: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I've put me down as possibilities in Eyes, head, all locations (South America have to check), gamer.

I can do everything in hobbies besides craft (not to my knowledge anyway).

Have a look anyway.

message 119: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments I had to scratch my torso pick, besides Lara has that covered. I originally talked about The Martian for SciFi, but that was before we learned about points. I could read it for "where does your date live - alien planet", since it's set on Mars.

message 120: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments You can put me down for legs and/or shoes. :)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I have a possibility for 'read a book where a main character has a job that you would like your date to have':

Jackaby Jackaby by William Ritter

The main character is a detective of the paranormal which sounds creepy but cool. It would make for some interesting dates that's for sure!

message 126: by Tasha (last edited Jan 25, 2015 05:04AM) (new)

Tasha I wasn't able to get back here yesterday and I see so much has been done! You guys rock!!

I see Date Look Like category needs a cover with shoes. I can read this one:

The Hangman's Daughter (The Hangman's Daughter, #1) by Oliver Pötzsch but at 448 pages it may be the only one I read but I will definitely try for a second one, just want to give a headsup. Do you all think this pair of shoes qualifies??

I'll gopher for a second book (who can gopher just one book?!) but I'll be open to changing it if we need to fill a certain spot later on.

message 127: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I love the spreadsheet, Rusalka! It looks so nice.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments Try this one Peggy https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

All updated with the above. I'll keep plugging until we have a check in by Anne, KimeyDiann, and Poongothai. Then we allocate/bags tasks in the 3 bonus points rounds, then free for all?

Thanks for doing the spreadsheet for us Rusalka! I agree, wait for the others to check in and then we can start allocating the bonus tasks. It looks like we have most of them covered anyway which is great! After that, no real planning is needed :)

message 131: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments No worries at all. Long weekend so happy to help while I have time.

I better share some permissions to edit before going back to work on Tuesday, as week time I'm on a lot less.

message 132: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments Rus, I can view the spreadsheet, but not edit. I have a lot of other options that I could fill if needed. I'll focus on those areas with fewer people listed.

message 133: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59894 comments The spreadsheet looks good, Rusualka! It also looks like we have all the bonus point slots filled except for a couple of question marks.

You have me slotted in for Canada, Series, Horror. That works for me. I have a few other options, but I'll wait until we hear from the others before swapping things around.

message 134: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisathebooklover) | 9244 comments I don't think we have anyone currently slotted in for 'book where a main character has a job you don't want your date to have' Janice. Apart from that we are looking good! Yay!

message 135: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments Rusalka, you have me slotted in for a pair of legs, I assume for Murder on the Rocks (Gray Whale Inn Mystery, #1) by Karen MacInerney . I thought of the cover more as shoes, as only part of the legs are visible. Do you think it works for both, or should I ask for a ruling?

message 136: by Casceil (new)

Casceil | 2728 comments I can read one for "book where a main character has a job you don't want your date to have." I am in the middle of a series, Shadow Unit 1, for which any book in the series would qualify. The main characters all work for the FBI in a side branch of the Behavioral Analysis Unit, where they track down a particular type of crazy serial killer who has paranormal powers. The series is sort of a cross between Criminal Minds and Fringe. They all stand a good chance of being killed at any time, and they are constantly cancelling dates. At one point, three of them abruptly leave a burial service before it is over, when all of their phones go off. There are still about nine books I haven't gotten to yet, and I tend to finish individual books in the series in two days or less.

message 137: by Liz (last edited Jan 25, 2015 09:27AM) (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Casceil, I am slotted for a possible leg book, too. Mine is Surfacing by Margaret Atwood . So if you want me to do that one, I certainly can.

message 138: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizvegas) | 504 comments Should we figure out who's reading what for the tasks with multiple team members listed? Then maybe we can try to cover all the Couples tasks, too?

What are your thoughts on where the other bonus points will come from?

message 139: by Peggy (last edited Jan 25, 2015 09:58AM) (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments The spreadsheet looks great! I'm fine with any of the three I'm scheduled for our could do one of the others I mentioned in the countries our body parts sections. I haven't looked at other members tbr's yet, but I'm sure there will be overlap with several members.

Liz, we are just waiting for a couple more team members to check in with what they may be able to read and then we will be able to start figuring out who is reading what for the bonus point tasks :)

I am fine with any of the five tasks I have been provisionally scheduled for.

The Martian could fit there. I wouldn't want my date to be an astronaut.

I saw legs. But what do others think? Just shoes?

message 143: by Rusalka, Moderator (new)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I figure we wait for the others to check in. Then we allocate those 16 tasks. Then people can read whatever they wish and slot them in for points where they can.

In terms of the mystery points, I personally think guessing them will be as useful as trying to nail jelly to the wall. So I'm more in the read what you want for fun camp (also more likely to read more books in total if we read things we want to read, not made to read).

But this is just my opinion. What do others think?

message 146: by Tasha (new)

Tasha I'm completely fine with switching out The Hangman's Daughter (for pair of shoes) with most any spot needed. I chose it bc I thought we needed another book for the pair of shoes spot but I see Liz has a book already in that one. Since we only get bonus points for one round completed in that spot, I can gopher around for something else.

Casceil, I definitely think you should read this for "SHOES" it is too good of a cover not to use for something!
