I lost my email notifications some time ago. Miss the emails so much. GR doesn’t even send the comments that people have sent directly to me…very annoying! The only emails I receive now are the heads-up notices for monthly book reads 😢

Has anyone else had comments rejected for including non-GR weblinks in the < a ref > format? I have often used these in the past and found it quite annoying. Although it's stated to be "for the safety of our members" I can't help but assume it's Amazon being anti-competitive.

Because trying to use the app has been incredibly frustrating - my computer screen captured itself and due to lockdown has to be collected for repair and then returned. Still waiting (a week later) for collection…sigh…

This is not a bug, but something GR has done in its wisdom!

For people who use links in their reviews etc - Just a heads up GR has now decided to block all external links. The only way to post links to to add spaces.

And something that will affect all of us - It also seems that everyone's messages have been defaulted to friends only so this is causing mods one of my other groups some problems. I know several of you are also mods so I wanted to pass along the information so you can update your setting so members can message you and if you send out newsletters or group messages you can let your members know to update their settings to keep receiving them.

Go to your profile, then to 'settings' and scroll down. You'll see that the default of 'friends only' is clicked. If you want it for everyone to be able to message you (your mods, for example, if we're not friends) change it to 'anyone' then click 'Save' at the bottom :)

I just changed mine. You need to got to your profile, then Edit Profile, then settings and scroll down.
If you are not friends with Brenda and me then you will not receive group reminders about challenges etc. if you are set to friends only.

What a nuisance. I suspect the issues with links is the number of spam comments we're getting with links to goodness-knows-what. Ads or scams or worse. We can't seem to flag them fast enough.

I guess we can write out links and remind people how to copy and paste into the address bar so they can read reviews by the NY Times and not just us! 😊

They took away the Events which we used to use every month - the one where you used to say 'yes', 'no', and 'maybe' to, about 3 or so months ago. Now we have to broadcast our messages to the groups!

I’m not sure how long this has been happening or if it’s just a glitch but when I ignored a friend request (from someone with no books) they got added to my friend list anyway. So now I’ve got another request I want to ignore but I’m just leaving this guy waiting!

Just leave them waiting Janelle. I think I read in the Help section somewhere a couple of weeks ago that this was happening. Did you delete the first one when you discovered it?

It happened to me as well Janelle, I went back in a ignored again and it seems to have gone and I have been getting lots of friend requests from men with no book lately and now one of them messaged me to ask how I was creepy

But you can 'unfriend' them can't you? I've unfriended people. And then you can block him so he can't see your profile.

Block them Helen! Any doubts about them, block them. And if you don't know how, click on their profile, their picture to take you to their page. Then where it says 'Add Friend', beside that says 'more'. Click on the 'more' and you'll see in red 'block this user'. Just click on that, confirm and it'll be done :)

I can’t seem to unfriend, Brenda. That’s what I did with that one and they’re still there, on my list, they haven’t messaged me or anything so I haven’t blocked yet.

I ignore those messages if I get them, Helen! Then block them, like Brenda said, if they become pests.

Thank's pointing me in the direction of this Janelle, I have been experiencing the exact same issues with friend requests, if I delete they still get added to my account, If I block them, I get another friend request from same person. Nothing appears to be working.

I'm wondering if this could be related to the glitch I have at the moment which is friend requests from people I've just accepted appearing repeatedly in my friend requests.

I've approved a few twice but they have just reappeared again. I'm ignoring the requests for now as I'm sure this must be happening to others as well and hoping GR will sort it out.

So even though though you've clicked ignore request , perhaps the repeat requests are part of the same glitch - doesn't explain why they've been approved by GR though.

I was having that problem earlier but it all seems to be working okay now.
