How odd. I signed out and in and fixed my profile the last time I wasn't getting notifications, and I have been getting them fine ever since. But when I saw these posts, I checked my profile and it said last active in January. So... I fixed it again. Just another glitch to keep checking!

A lot of people are reporting notification issues - mine, for a change, is behaving itself.

I don’t know if this will help, but last time my notifications stopped I cleared the history cache on my computer and they started again.

I just checked my profile and it said I hadn't been active since March. So I signed out of my laptop GR as well as my phone, then signed back in. Then I discovered - according to GR - I've read 186 books!! There are around 50 included in there with blank covers and "author not available" which I'm now in the process of deleting. There are also some duplicated books!!! This last thing has been going on since the beginning of the year at least!

Have you tried the work around Leonie? I can't see when you're last shown as being online as you're an author, but if you completely log out of GR on all the devices you use, then log back in again, it helps. I'm not saying it'll fix your notifications - though it did mine - but it could. I think there are also constant problems with GR anyway...

I've taken to pulling up 'discussions' and working my way down them in the groups I'm most attached to. That would be my work around, I suppose. It seems to work OK.

I signed out then in again on both devices, and think it's okay again now!!

On another issue, I just noticed (when signing back in again) that my reading challenge showed I'd read 345 books out of 350! Which of course is incorrect. I went through them all, and there are double ups, plus in the "kindle" shelf (not GR) there are blank covers with authors unknown. So I've deleted all those (a slow process) and am now 7 over, which means I deleted 67 "books" and the 7 left are double ups! Not sure which ones to delete of those as they are all showing GR shelf!!! It'd be a shame if everything was right in this jolly system!

For the double ups, go by asin or isbn. Keep the ones you actually read.

Yes they have, and jolly annoying they are too! We just have to keep deleting them, which is a pain!

I went through my reading list for the year this morning and discovered 6 double ups (after I'd removed all the blank ones) So I deleted one of the double ups for each of the 6 - the only problem is that that deletion removed both of each title. Nothing I did would bring them back, so I have finally done those six as rereads, and now my total is correct!! Just a warning if it happens to anyone else :)

I don't seem to be able to update any post that has more than about 4-5000 characters in it. It doesn't give any info about what happened, just says 'There was a problem saving your comment' & the post disappears until the page is refreshed. It hasn't happened on the smaller posts I've been updating which is why I'm speculating about the # of characters.

Any info about what's going on? Have they suddenly reduced the character limit per post?

I don't know what you're posting Kylie, but Phrynne and I have discovered when creating a new post, post it without links, book or otherwise, then edit the post to add the rest. It doesn't happen every time but that's a work around. Hope that helps.

I was updating some existing threads.

Never mind, the problem has been rectified. Someone was playing with something they shouldn't, or the database was overloaded & couldn't cope with updating the larger posts. Who knows...

It's very glitchy. I've had to repost stuff several times, even just liking a review is taking multiple goes.
