I am remarkable good at blocking out electronic nagging.
On another topic, I read your review for The Girl in the Mirror and just finished my own copy. Did you see THAT ending coming? You are pretty good at foreseeing endings, as I recall...

I suspected it could go that way when the brother saw her in the hospital but it was still surprising enough that I had to read it twice to make sure I understood it XD But we better drift to another thread if we want to discuss further! :)

I have seen another comment from someone that they got that message from Goodreads Deborah. And it was while Goodreads were working on the notifications shutdown. Perhaps we should all be changing our passwords more often:)

Thanks Krystal :)
Thanks Krystal :)

Now my homepage isn’t updating....is that happening to anyone else? The most recent post is 19h ago, the rest are 1d or more.
Janelle wrote: "Now my homepage isn’t updating....is that happening to anyone else? The most recent post is 19h ago, the rest are 1d or more."Yes, I noticed that yesterday, too. I thought everyone was just too busy to review at first!
Janelle wrote: "Now my homepage isn’t updating....is that happening to anyone else? The most recent post is 19h ago, the rest are 1d or more."Now that you mention it, YES! The most recent update is the same most recent update that was there last night.
Here we go - I don't use the home page much so haven't noticed anything. https://help.goodreads.com/s/feed/0D5...
Another bug...
Another bug...
I also keep getting notified that I have a new inbox message. But when I go to my inbox there's nothing there.

This link doesn't work for me? Wants me to authorise or something?
Not sure why Krystal - it's only GR help. I went there, typed in my question and that came up....
The link is to ask a question I think, it comes up saying:Would you like to use your username and email to post a question on Goodreads Help?
And there is 'confirm' or 'cancel'. And nothing else.
Sounds about right lol. I guess it's like how I have to login again just to read my messages! They do have some weird things to tweak, don't they!
Krystal wrote: "This link doesn't work for me? Wants me to authorise or something?"I got that, too, Krystal. It seems to be working now. I wonder whether the website crashed or perhaps got hacked because of today's announcement of the Goodread's Choice Awards?
Home page still not working this morning and I have that message alert too when there is nothing really there.
I have some new posts on my homepage feed, but the most recent one is still already 1d old. It certainly looks like they are trying to fix a nasty problem.
Yes all fixed. Now we wait to see what goes wrong next! I am learning to live with the horrible new font that I appear to be stuck with.
Phrynne wrote: "Yes all fixed. Now we wait to see what goes wrong next! I am learning to live with the horrible new font that I appear to be stuck with."Yes same! Horrible Times New Roman or something, eugh! It's so tiny, too!
Yes it looks like Times New Roman about size 10. But here in the comment box I am typing in maybe Calibri 12. The contrast between the two does bad things to my poor eyes.
My problem with the font resolved itself one day quietly without fuss:)
Now I want to know how long is "temporarily". Any search I do lately gets this message
Search is temporarily unavailable.
Use this time to read a book!
Apart from finding the message a bit condescending, "temporarily" has been going on for a while now......

Hi Phrynne- In desperation while working on a Listopia challenge I googled goodreads lists and logical guesses about the list name. Lo and behold: search results with a working link. I'm worried they are working on another "improvement." Sigh.

I've had that 'sarcastic' message a few times, but not lately...

I'm always wondering why they always try to 'fix' things that aren't broken, yet leave the things that are!

Is anyone else having problems with the "add book/author" button? Mine is not finding the books I am looking for, but just bringing up weird volumes with no ratings or details.
The search function seems to be playing up so I guess that affects the 'add book/author button' as well. Hopefully they'll fix it soon!
It's affecting a lot of people across the board. Just another of Goodreads never-ending glitches!!
Has anyone else had a glitch(?) where you can't see your friends reviews? Like I'm on a book, and it has the list of friends who have reviewed, their rating and the comments on their review, but it's not showing the review itself? I don't understand but I hope my explanation makes sense haha
Janelle wrote: "Yes Brooke, it’s happened to me but it’s random. It’s been happening a lot just recently though" Thanks for responding, sometimes I just wonder if it's just me or I've done something wrong. So thanks for letting me know it's not just me!

I've had trouble trying to find books in the search function, when I know they are there! It's been almost 2 years and I'm unable to post my NetGalley badges on my profile, it still hasn't been fixed!
It's another glitch which they're working on apparently. And Gloria, I don't think they ARE going to fix that one which is really unfortunate. With investigating, someone might be able to find a work around but not me I'm afraid.

Very frustrating!
Have you seen the beta version of the planned redesign of the book pages? It looks more like a sales catalog than a place to find details that help us to locate "my next read". It requires multiple clicks to see a lot of the information we use in challenges. I never could locate genres/users. I am so heartbroken that everything I rely on has either become a victim of its success or a casualty of the pandemic economy.

I get that on a bunch of other websites but I'm almost permanently logged in to GR lol
I checked it out once, it seemed to be more because I was using the same password on multiple sites.
