EDITING BUG!!! And other bugs!
I'm glad to hear that Phrynne! It's the email notifications that have gone. I really should just do it like you do!!
Brenda wrote: "I'm glad to hear that Phrynne! It's the email notifications that have gone. I really should just do it like you do!!"If it's anything like me, you'll have to re-verify your email....
Phrynne wrote: "Whatever is causing it this is an extremely annoying isssue. I hope it goes away soon. I realise Goodreads is an international site but please list an author's works in the language of their first ..."I can accept that in terms of consistency - even though some of my thrillers (Scandi noir, Hebrew authors) would default to their native language. This has happened to me in the past but went away quickly.
Try this link to Terry Pratchett's Discworld series and scroll down I don't even recognise some of the languages:)

🤣😱😡
Brenda wrote: "No I didn't have to Leonie - all is back to normal again, so just a glitch.."Glad to hear it!
And can you believe it, as soon as I pressed 'post,' Goodreads insisted I reverify my email. I assume it's because I've been using my phone for hot spotting again - husband scored a surprise pacemaker for his Birthday, yesterday.
Phrynne wrote: "Wishing your husband all the best Leonie!"Thanks, Phrynne! He's home, and apparently feeling quite a lot less tired than last week.

Excellent news, Leonie! I often think how lucky we are to be living now instead of a century ago.
Back to bugs. My searches for books are now showing lists in English mostly. Even with 10,529 editions (yikes!) of Oliver Twist, the lists are mostly English again. Whew!

All the very best to him Leonie :)

Thank goodness!!!
I quickly checked Terry Pratchett and every single one is English👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I can't say I'm "glad" to hear that, except I'm glad it's not my laptop malfunctioning.
I also can't post images in my reviews (again), which is an issue for my reviews of children's picture books. I can upload photos to an Amazon review easily, but Goodreads makes us link to another site online. First world problem. 😂
PattyMacDotComma wrote: "Has Goodreads been slow to load for anyone else recently? I'm on a laptop on the website."Yes, a few times this week I thought it wasn’t going to load as it took so long. Using website on iPad with Safari.
Yesterday and today, I have tried to post comments but they aren't staying posted. I posted two or three links to my reviews, and when I look at the thread again, they aren't there. It's the same in different groups. I can see that others have posted in the last hour or so, which makes me think it's something at my end, but I have no idea what. I have logged out and signed back in. Shut down and restarted laptop. No luck.
I'll be interested to see if THIS one sticks!
Brenda wrote: "It did Patty 👍"Well - that's something, I guess. I still can't make my little review posts show. I don't have any links to outside websites or anything unusual that I can see, but there must be some trigger. I can see the post myself after I post it, but if I leave the page and check it later, it's gone. First World Problem.

Tell us the last few you have posted and where and we can check for you

Phrynne wrote: "PattyMacDotComma wrote: "Yesterday and today, I have tried to post comments but they aren't staying posted. I was pretty sure you would have read Calypso's Guest by Andrew Sean Greer, it being a good sci-fi story, so I looked for your review in a Sci-Fi group. Sure enough, you didn't link the title or the bookcover either, just Greer's name and mentioned that he was the author of Less.
I figured maybe you'd run into a glitch as well. Now I've written my post similarly without linking the title or adding the cover. It's weird! Especially considering it's an Amazon story, so it's in-house.
If any of my previous posts with links show up, there will be some very repetitive posts!
No I did not have any problems that I knew about anyway! I often don't use links when I am going to repost the same review on Amazon and Netgalley.
Phrynne wrote: "No I did not have any problems that I knew about anyway! I often don't use links when I am going to repost the same review on Amazon and Netgalley."Well, you fixed my problem anyway! 😊

That's good!

That's good!
Has anyone else noticed that the "Compare Books" function within the Add Friends list is consistently unavailable? I usually rely on this when considering new friend requests, but am now having to manually scroll through people's "Read" and "Want to Read" lists.
Sarah wrote: "Has anyone else noticed that the "Compare Books" function within the Add Friends list is consistently unavailable? I usually rely on this when considering new friend requests, but am now having to ..."I use it sometimes but have not had any issues with it Sarah.
Thanks Brenda and Dale - good to know I'm the only one, as that bodes well for a spontaneous correction of the issue with a re-boot.
Sarah wrote: "Thanks Brenda and Dale - good to know I'm the only one, as that bodes well for a spontaneous correction of the issue with a re-boot."I think I know what you mean, Sarah. When adding a friend, I kind of remember being able to compare at that point. Now I click on the person's name, go to their page, and click the drop-down arrow next to "More" and find "compare books". That's on my laptop or on the desktop site.
Has anyone "lost" a heap of likes and comments to some of their reviews? It's quite strange. Once I click on the reviews themselves - the comments appear. And once I click on the 'likes' number, the true number of users appear.
But besides that, it looks to have decreased dramatically. Haven't had this happen before until now.
EDIT: I'm now seeing this on other peoples' reviews. Thankfully not the only one!
Phrynne wrote: "Best just to wait it out."Wise idea, Phrynne. Nothing is actually "lost" - just gives the appearance as such.
Rowan wrote: "Phrynne wrote: "Best just to wait it out."Wise idea, Phrynne. Nothing is actually "lost" - just gives the appearance as such."
Yeah I'm gonna postpone my panic XD but I hope they fix it soon! I need those likes to get approved for ARCs lol
With all the red "new" posts still bugging us, I have just gone through my groups and marked all topics as read. So at the moment there's no problems.... I'll keep watching ;)
Oh no, Brenda! Was worth a shot. I really hope Goodreads can fix some of these recent glitches. It has been almost unusable for me at times lately :(
You're right Rowan - trying to find work-arounds is frustrating and annoying! Goodness knows what their IT people are doing??!!
I know, right. At this point, I'm not sure they still have IT people! My reviews and notifications are all over the place.

At the very least, it would be useful to have an option to sort editions by language on the lists of all editions, so everyone could choose their own.
