I'm a very soft rater. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy. If I had a good time escaping into your book, chances are your book got 3-4 stars. If I loved my trip and want to revisit the world again and again - 5 stars. If I read it, but miss the time it took me to do so, well, that'll get ya 1-2 stars.
As a serious series addict, most of my lists revolve around - surprise - series!
Now, on to the lists! (books in no particular order)
♦ Total books read: 260 ♦
Rated ✮✮✮✮✮: 32 books and 3 free shorts

Next-in-series reads that prove some series just keep getting better:

Kindle Freebies that surprised me:

Finally, since I do occasionally venture outside the world of the paranormal, here are some of my favorite contemporary romance reads:
• J.M. Madden's Lost and Found [Military RS]

• Emma Chase's Tangled series, which I finished in 2014 [Humorous ER]

• Tiffany Reisz's Original Sinners ~ The White Years series is one of my favorites [ER]

• Cherise Sinclair's Masters of the Shadowlands series better go on forever b/c I cannot imagine a world without these hot Doms and their sassy subs [ER]

• Nalini Singh's Rock Kiss series started off a little bumpy for me, but this novella reminded me why I shouldn't snub anything written by her [NA-CR]

• Lexi Blake's Masters and Mercenaries series can sometimes be a frustrating read for me. I love her Doms and their missions, but I enjoy her Doms and their subs more. Sometimes the big baddies' story encroaches a bit too much on my D/s time [ER/RS]

Well, if ya stuck with me this far, thanks for celebrating my favorite reads of 2014! If not, who can blame ya, I ramble. :D
Cheers and Happy New Year! May your 2015 overflow with 5-star reads, great new author finds and series you cannot wait to return to and re-read again and again.

I started the year 2014 working towards the end of the Morganville Vampire series
made up my mind to hunt out the series and buy it and its taken all year to find
these books in the UK. So this year 2015 I have started to read it again, as I
have books on order and nothing else is taking my fancy at the moment,
really enjoying it,
ended the year reading Archangel` Shadows - Nalini Singh

In 2014 I joined the GR thread reading - Immortals After Dark series -Kreasley Cole
Read all 14 books

loved this series one of my favourites by Julie Kagawa
sad its ended

continued to read the latest book in these serials

Strangest reading experience last year
this book below where the author forgot to write the ending / epilogue
in the book and publishers never noticed until
after it went to print. For anyone out there wondering what happened
after she turned the the handle on the door in the hospital and stepped
inside the room, the link is below for you to read what happened next
and the ending. It suddenly all becomes clear

More Good reads one off books

and my nomination for repetative word syndrome book of 2014
is .............

the lead man smirks 74 times and calls his love `girly` 134 times
.

Too many books, not enough time!
I'm terrible at managing my reading material. I start series and can't let them go. I have more series started than I have time to read. I have way too many PNR material causing an unbalance with other genres.
PNR slippers I love you too much and...when is it going to end!

UF sure value

Space romance binge reading I can't really defend those but for some reason I like reading this stuff and except one series...they are all new to me. I blame Sandra for this!
S.E. Smith has a lot to answer because I nearly started all her series.
The Alliance by S.E. Smith

Cosmos' Gateway by S.E. Smith

Lords of Kassis by S.E. Smith

Dragon Lords of Valdier by S.E. Smith

Tornians by M.K. Eidem (horrible cover but a gem)

Oh, man do I love it!

Kindle freebies (got to start them not just collect them)

Lee, do you tend to read a whole series before moving on to another? I am all over the place with my series. I have so many going at once yet I can't help starting new ones. It's my thang. :D
Val, which freebie goes with your "god, it was good" comment? I've read (and love) Harper's Fallen Siren series, but are you referring to Boughton's books?
"I blame Sandra for this!" LOL! No doubt!

While both are very good (and I've yet to read the second book in the Fallen Siren series) I was referring Boughton's books. The heroine is very hard to love and impossible to hate. A perfect blend of Walking Dead and Beast from the Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter. Werewolves and zombies...what's not to love?

If I can get hold of all the books to read in
order then yes I will read the lot, any that
are due out later I will wait for them to be
published and read as released in between
reading other books.I know what you mean
about keeping up with serials there are loads
coming up this year that I am in the middle of
This Morganville series took forever to find
with huge gaps in between some of the books
I always promised myself that I would read
the lot in one go, so I made it a mission to
find them all buy them and read it from start
to finish. Believe it or not the first book
Glass Houses remained elusive for a long time
and was the hardest one to find, but I did it
made do with a very early second hand copy.
But below is my series even better to read
then the first time

Val, but what a sweet obsession all those sci-fi roms are. I just love 'em :)

Cool. I've added them to my wishlist to grab soon. Thanks :)

Then, I thought it'd be fun to keep track of each year in one spot - hence this thread. For now, I'm starting with my shared review of '2014 on Goodreads', but I might look back to 2013 and see which books stick out.
