Enjoyable fantasy set in Mexico in the 1920s with characters from Maya mythology and a satisfying hero's journey.

Memoir of alcoholism wherein the author tells tales on her Dad's mental health challenges and sneers at her mother's faith - wouldn't recommend

Abandoned at 27% on 21 Aug - could not get into the story.


✅5. Self-Care for the Real World by Katia Narain Phillips Nadia Narain 9th Aug
Very hipster self help advice. Not really my thing, but a good practical book if you are feeling down and think Crystal Water might be a solution.

Intriguing sci-fi where the history department of Thirsk University is able to time travel to the past to observe what really happened.


✅ 1. replacement Shockwave: Countdown to Hiroshima by Stephen Walker 9th Aug
Fantastic minute by minute history of the decision to drop the bomb. Picked it up to find out what the cover is showing - still no idea, but it's a great book.

Fantastic minute by minute history of the decision to drop the bomb. Picked it up to find out what the cover is showing - still no idea, but it's a great book.
