Hehehe, that comment has me giggling, Debra. (Also added)

Stephanie, if you figure out how that can be done please share ;-) my list grows every day still reading The Good Has been on Zebra Drive, I am in love again with the series.
I'm reading my final toppler-book, The Housekeeper and the Professor. I like it, it's a sweet book and even though I have always hated math, I find the mathemathical things discussed in the book intriguing.
Stephanie wrote: "Thanks, Lisa! Now if our apartment would clean itself, I could start reading it ;) sigh.."Maybe this guy could come round and do it for you? ;)
This is how you can clean and read at the same time. You get a pair of Bluetooth headphones and a good audiobook ;-) it works for me :-)
Yes! Audios are hit and miss with me. I enjoyed Anne of green gables on audio but didn't enjoy the audio of Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. I would still like to listen to Ready Player One since Wil Wheaton narrates even though I've already read it :) decisions decisions ;)
Rusalka wrote: "Oh. By the way. Succubus who works in a bookshop."I did like the TV show the first two seasons. I just stopped watching TV. If she works in a book store, I might check it out. ☺

Great to get confirmation that it is a good story though. Thanks!

Stephanie wrote: "Thanks, Lisa! Now if our apartment would clean itself, I could start reading it ;) sigh.."I listen to audiobooks and do housework. I put the headphones on and stick my phone either in my pocket or my bra if I don't have pockets.
I have a little bluetooth cube speaker for my iPod, but unfortunately the range is not great. Line of sight mostly. If I walk out of the room where my iPod is - carrying the speaker, it cuts out. If I am doing house work, I wear my ear buds and do what Janice does.I love the speaker when I am sitting and listening though.
My headphones seem to have much better range then my speaker, don't know why :-) I am now reading The Truth About Alice, a young adult book, I really am liking it so far. I think it's funny how stereo typical these books can be my oldest son is very smart and get this plays a sport in high school ;-) how often does that happen in a book? My daughter is also a cheerleader, and they are very rarely put in a good light and a book. I would like one day to read a book where the athlete and a cheerleader or actually the nice ones, it can happen!
I finished Glimpse for the toppler. It started off well but went downhill in the second half. The plot didn't really seem to go anywhere after a while and it all became a bit boring and shallow. I liked how it was inspired by 'The Highwayman' poem though. I gave it 3 stars.Next up for me is Rubbernecker for February's monthly challenge.
I read three books for this toppler: Snow Hunters, Cheat River Three and I Am Malala. All of them were 2 stars for me. Not great readings during the toppler this time. :)I'm resuming The Time Machine for the monthly theme reading, and The Color of Magic that I was enjoying but found I couldn't read too fast for the toppler. I'm starting The Invention of Wings too for a buddy read.
I didn't think I would finish my 6th book for the toppler while I was here at my parents' so I didn't bring the chunkster I had started before the Toppler. But. No problem, I will read The Chosen Soul on Kindle instead. I had picked this book for one of our very first monthly challenges which was to read a book chosen for its cover. I never did read it. Tomorrow, when I head back down the highway going home, I will start All the Light We Cannot See for my real life book club.
Stephanie wrote: "I would still like to listen to Ready Player One since Wil Wheaton narrates even though I've already read it :) decisions decisions ;) "I have the same desire. As soon as I heard Will Wheaton was narrating, the geek in me kind of exploded.
I just finished Mostly Harmless, the last of the real Hitchhiker's books. I'm reading And Another Thing... only to complete the series, as listed here on Goodreads, for the serial killer challenge. It's very much a pale copy of Douglas Adams' work...the grand flippancy is so forced, that the book itself is a trial as opposed to a delight. The constant referencing to previous books doesn't help me forget that the author is different, but simply reinforces it. All in all it feels like a financial venture and not a creative one.
I just read too young adult books back to back. The Truth About Alice and We Wereliars. The first was a fun read, but the latter was exceptional, any of you that read young adult fiction I would strongly recommend this book. NowI am going to need to go back to grown-up land, after reading a couple young adult books, I need to come up for air :-) my next book will be The Other Typist, for my in person Book group. I'll give you my opinion on that one when I am finished ;-)
We Or Liars, is the name of the book that is exceptional. Seems that when I go back to edit something before I post something else gets tweaked :-( I listened to Ready Player One on audio and it was also exceptional.
I finished Dragonsinger, the second book in the Harper Hall series, set in the world of Pern. I really enjoyed it!Tomorrow I'll start The Invention of Wings for a buddy read.
i am in my post toppler burnout mode. I am not reading..I am going back to Life After Life and I have a buddy read for Iron Council. Then I will go back to the last book I started during the toppler The Atrocity Archives.
On the audio side, I started (5 minutes) The Invention of Wings for the buddy read.
I'm finishing up The Wonder of All Things, which I started for the toppler, but didn't have time to finish, and The Hidden Ones, which I put aside to start the toppler. I also started Timebound for our themed read, and Poisoned Apples: Poems for You, My Pretty for a buddy read in another group.
Read a few in the last couple of weeks:The Art Forger: A Novel -- Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Still Life -- Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Disciple of Las Vegas -- Review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Sandra wrote: "Esther, I've only read 12 pages of The Invention of Wings and I'm already in love with Handful!"Oh good! Sounds like it's off to a good start. :)
I started and finished The Chosen Soul. I did not expect to like this book, so I was pleasantly surprised. And, another surprise, it's book 1 of a trilogy. I shall be adding it to my challenge. On the other hand, another series has been started.
Is that not the best, when you don't have an expectation about a book, and it turns out to be amazing. I think that is the problem with overly hyped books or movies for that matter, they can never really live up to the hype.sometimes I read a book and think, what I have liked it better if I didn't expect so much from it?
I chose this book strictly for the cover for a challenge. It was cheap (if not free) on Amazon and I figured it would be a load of trash. LOL!
I'm about to start Dead Between the Lines for my series challenge. It is the last book in the Devereaux's Dime Store Mystery series.

I think I sat down to begin it, and didn't stop for 12 hours until it was done.
Y third section not going to the killing plan I've started 6 series. Well 7 but still reading Event put on hold for toppler. No kills yet. Then I had am uncontollable urge to re-read Crime and Punishment which I am currently reading then back to the series or will I cave to this strong urge to now re-read Les Misérables
Still have a toppled book on the go but it also falls into my series challenge Moon Over Soho. Then on to Iron Council for a buddy read and it will also mean I can kill a series.
I just finished my pre-Toppler read, An Incomplete Education: 3,684 Things You Should Have Learned but Probably Didn't. It was really interesting but it would probably be better as a physical book you can dip in and out of, not a library ebook with a built in deadline. >_< I hope they update it, too - a lot has happened in the last ten years!
I just started reading To Kill a Mockingbird. This is a book I have been wanting to read for a really long time because I did not read many classics while I was in school. I am also trying to widen my reading taste and I thought adding some classics would do me good.
I finished Rubbernecker for the monthly challenge. It was ok but not quite as good as I thought it would be. I gave it 3 stars.Next up is Inferno for the Serial Killer challenge.
Missy wrote: "I just started reading To Kill a Mockingbird. This is a book I have been wanting to read for a really long time because I did not read many classics while I was in school. I am also ..."To Kill a Mockingbird is a very special classic, Missy. Hope you enjoy it.
I just started The Other Typist, I am reading this for my in person but chat. I was going to start it on Saturday but I got distracted and read another book. Has anyone read this?also I don't know if this is the right place, but I am having trouble giving any book anything lower than three stars, any tips on book reviewing or rating? Or is there a separate thread that addresses this?
