Question about the quests.

Can we claim experience from them before they are totally complete? If I were to get enough for another level but still have 2 more books to read for one of them, do I need to wait until that whole quest is done before I can claim the level or can it be broken up and experience claimed whenever?

1) Monsters:

There's three types of monsters: Common, Uncommon and Rare.

Common monsters are unlimited however, once you kill one there's a week lag time until you can kill that one again. (Each common monster is on its own week timer though). So everyone will be on their own timers depending on when you last killed them. This is to keep people from leveling infinitely once you can kill them in one hit. However, once you can do that, coming back each week and killing them will net you free experience. You cannot back-date your fights though :)

Uncommon monsters have a certain number available (2-3 usually). These you can kill whenever, but when they run out for you, they're gone. Each person is able to kill up to the number available so there's no competing with others.

Rare monsters only have one in the world and usually net you some sort of enhancement along with killing them but they're hard.

New monsters will appear during the quest and some may be removed (probably just common ones being replaced though) to keep things interesting.



2) Series for Sword Leveling:

They do not have to be from the same series as long as you have ones that correspond to each of the numbers. The example post may help if you have questions on this part.

Both, depending on the quest and how it's written.

Example:
"Spell out one of the following words with title, author, series, main character rules. YUM, BLUE, RASP, STRAW. +1 Exp per letter, +2 Exp for completing a word (Max 1 word)"

You get to claim 1 exp each time you read a letter. Once you claim the experience though you can't remove the book to reclaim it, even if the quest expires and you don't get to get the completion bonus. So for this one you have multiple options, you can read YUM and get 5 experience or STRAW and get 7 experience. So there's a higher experience to book ratio for the little words. It depends on where you want to focus your effort.

It will be interesting to see everyone's strategy.

If you want to hold your books in reserve and not claim your experience til you turn it in you can in case you want to use them for something else.

I will be giving about 2 weeks notice for quests expiring so there should be time to turn any in if you're waiting.

Potions may be used during or after battle. They do not replace your turn during battle and as many potions as you want can be used at any time.
• Minor Heal Potion - Allows healing up to 5 health during a battle.
• Heal Potion - Allows healing up to 10 health during a battle.
• Major Heal Potion - Allows healing up to 15 health during a battle.

• Minor Poison Potion - Poisons the monster causing 2 amount of additional damage at the beginning of the turn.
• Enhanced Weapon Potion - Increases the damage of a weapon by 3 for the remainder of the week.
• Damage Potion - For the remainder of the week attack and magic power are increased by 3 points each.

• Find Items Potion - Magically obtain half the items needed for a specific quest. (Note the use of this potion when turning in your quest. If an odd number of items is required, the potion rounds down the reward. Example: Requires 3 items, potion provides 1. Requires 4 items, potion provides 2.)
• Time Walking Potion - Allows one quest to be completed after it has been removed from the current quest list.

Reva, a rare story is one that has less than 500 ratings. If you open up a book's main page and look right next to the star ratings, under the title, it says "rating details-- *insert number* ratings-- *insert number* reviews"

So for example is one that I'm planning on reading. If you look at it's main page, it has 159 ratings so it qualifies as rare, less than 500. A "Greater Rare" would have less than the number 10 in the same spot. Which I can't find one of right now but you get the idea lol

Industrial Automation: Hands On only has 1 rating so it would count as a Greater Rare book.

They'll be more opportunities to gain potions as we progress. They're most useful in the longer harder battles. For short battles you may just want to heal afterwards.

If you're looking for a greater rare searching for something using the GoodReads search then skipping to the 5th page or so lowers the ratings counts quite a bit.

No. Books may be read at any point and stored until you turn them in. If you read a 1000 page book and want to store it to use it later for leveling up you can stash it in your backpack. You just can't turn them in out of order. (i.e. all books for that level must be turned in at the same time to level to the next weapon level)

There's a max of 5 experience for this quest so you can read 3 rare books and 1 greater rare or 5 rare books and no greater rares. There's a max of one greater rare book.

For the monsters with the population limit, I feel like I read this somewhere but now I can't find it so apologies if you already had to answer this! Does the limit of 3 mean that only three people overall can kill them or that I can kill them 3 times myself? And does that extend to all the monsters? Like can everyone at some point kill the biggest dragon if they get that high or is he only available to the first person?

You can kill it three times by yourself. This is single player so the actions of others don't affect your game at all.

Here's the info you were looking for:

"There's three types of monsters: Common, Uncommon and Rare.

Common monsters are unlimited however, once you kill one there's a week lag time until you can kill that one again. (Each common monster is on its own week timer though). So everyone will be on their own timers depending on when you last killed them. This is to keep people from leveling infinitely once you can kill them in one hit. However, once you can do that, coming back each week and killing them will net you free experience. You cannot back-date your fights though :)

Uncommon monsters have a certain number available (2-3 usually). These you can kill whenever, but when they run out for you, they're gone. Each person is able to kill up to the number available so there's no competing with others.

Rare monsters only have one in the world and usually net you some sort of enhancement along with killing them but they're hard.

New monsters will appear during the quest and some may be removed (probably just common ones being replaced though) to keep things interesting."
