Oooh, that one was very good! I really liked Harry Rutledge! AND, it left you wanting more of Leo and Miss Marks...

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Yes, it was. I'm excited to read Leo's story. :)

I hope to do some book shopping after work and pick up some of the HRs that come out today. Anyone reading any good Victorians right now?

message 159: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments I went shopping and got some new releases today that I've been waiting for!

My Reckless Surrender by Anna Campbell
Ten Things I Love About You by Julia Quinn
Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4) by Lisa Kleypas
A Secret Affair (Huxtable Quintet, #5) by Mary Balogh
One Dance with a Duke (Stud Club, #1) by Tessa Dare

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 73 comments I just finished Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas. It started a little slow for me, but I ended up enjoying it. Now I'm looking forward to the rest of the Wallflowers.:-)

message 161: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments Julie I'm so jealous that you are reading these for the first time! I love the Wallflowers, one of the top series of all time for me! :)

message 162: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 73 comments I know what you mean, Cheryl. Every time I see someone just starting a favorite series or book of mine, I wish I could hit a re-set button to forget everything and start over. Maybe in about 10 years I'll have forgotten enough for it to be almost like new.;-)

Oh maybe so! I think they will be great to read again but there is just something about that first time! :)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Cheryl, great list of books. Julie, Simon is my number three favorite LK hero.

message 165: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments Oh Danielle, who is your number 1 and 2 favorite LK hero? I think I know who #1 is ( St. Vincent)... but #2?

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
#2 is Derek Craven. :)

message 167: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments Oh... I haven't read his book yet! I hear it's a good one!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Oh, Cheryl, I think you'll love Dreaming of You!

message 169: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments I look forward to it... thanks!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
I can't wait to see what you think!

message 171: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 73 comments Danielle "The Book Huntress" wrote: "Cheryl, great list of books. Julie, Simon is my number three favorite LK hero."

I really liked Simon, but I think my top three LK heroes so far are Nick Gentry, Zachary Bronson and Ross Cannon. Then again I have lots more to go, so my list will probably change at some point. I haven't even read your #1 & #2 choices yet.;-)

message 172: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments Ooooh, Nick Gentry!!! He is tied for first for my all time favorite heroes... I can't pick who I like more, Nick or Westcliff... both are very sigh-worthy!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Nick is definitely in my top seven, at least.
I think this is my long list:

1.St. Vincent
2.Derek Craven
3.Simon Hunt
4.Harry Rutledge
5.Cam Rohan
6.Nick Gentry
7.John McKenna
8.Ross Cannon
9.Alex Raiford
10.Grant Morgan

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
But I should add, I only sort of dislike three of her heroes:

Prince Nikolas (Prince of Dreams), Logan Scott (Because You're Mine), Damon (Somewhere I'll Find You).

I really liked Hardy Cates in Sugar Daddy. I might end up putting him in my top ten after I read Blue-Eyed Devil.

message 175: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 29 comments Alex Raiford is my # one but the thing is I think I love Lily just as much......

#2 for me is Leo. Although I didn't super love his book collectively with him in all the Hathaway books I love him.

#3 Would be Cam

I haven't read all her HR or any of her comtemp's but so far that is my top 3 list.

I did really like Nick but I just didn't love his book therefore leaving me wanting something more from him.

message 176: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments What book is Alex Raiford from?

Danielle there are a couple of heroes in your list I've not read yet so I can't wait to read them and compare lists!

I joined this group just so I could respond to Cheryl (and because Danielle is a Moderator ^_^).

Cheryl, you and I really do have pretty similar tastes in heroes (both in character and looks)! ^_^

And since we're listing fave LK heroes…hmm…and it's really hard for me to rank them but in my top 10 are...

1. Marcus, Lord Westcliff
2. Nick Gentry
3. Sebastian, St. Vincent
4. Cam Rohan
5. Hardy Cates
6. Jack Travis
7. Gage Travis
8. John McKenna
9. Derek Craven
10. Alex Raiford

Oh shoot! I need to fit Harry Rutledge in there somehow, since he looks like Richard Armitage….hmmm…okay…that's my Top 11! ^_^ Wait! And Leo Hathaway!!! Argh! It's too hard to pick a Top 10 of LK's heroes. I love so many!

And Cheryl, FYI, Alex Raiford is from Then Came You, Bk. 1 of the Gamblers of Craven.

message 178: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments Oh Yay, Jayne, I'm glad you joined in! And you're right, we do have the same preferences in our heroes! I don't know your #5,6,7,9 and 10... I shall have to read them, they are bound to be favorites! And LK is one of those authors who just hardly ever writes a bad hero!

Lady Jayne *~*The Beach Bandida*~* (ladyjayne) | 2 comments *gasp!* You haven't read the Travis series and Craven series yet, Cheryl??? Oh, are you in for some treats!

And I agree about LK's heroes. She makes it difficult to choose. ^_^

I do like Logan and Damon from the Capitol Theatre series that Danielle mentioned, but because of all these other great LK heroes, they are bumped to the bottom of the list. Hehehe! And I was intrigued by Prince Nikolai form my glimpse of him in Midnight Angel, I just haven't gotten to his book, Prince of Dreams yet.

message 180: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments My plan is to own all of her books one day... but I have put myself on a buying-book-ban until I've read some of the books I already own... so some of these heroes will have to wait a little longer! But it gives me something to look forward to!

Cheryl (ghemomma) | 80 comments Thanks! I marked it to look for a copy!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Thanks for joining, Jayne. You are more than welcome. LK writes awesome heroes. It was hard to choose my top ten because I love most of them. I have bought way too many books lately, Cheryl. :)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Kelly, Lily is awesome!

message 185: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB Just finished Sherry Thomas' new novel and really enjoyed it. Go read it ;)

It almost bordered on Edwardian times, but I'm guessing it is right at the end of the Victorian era based on the hints she gave in the text.

Very good. Did I mention that you should read it? :)

His at Night by Sherry Thomas

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
I definitely want to read His at Night, Flib.

Currently reading Tomorrow's Mmemories by Audrey Howard. Set in England in 1850s.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
I read Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4) by Lisa Kleypas last week, as far as Victorians. Loved it!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Anne, what is Tomorrow's Memories about?

Lizz, good list of books!

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
I'm reading The True Love Wedding Dress (Includes Coulters Historical #2) by Catherine Anderson . I forgot how much I love Connie Brockway's writing.

message 192: by Julianna (last edited Jun 25, 2010 12:14PM) (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 73 comments Oddly enough, hers was the only novella in this anthology that I didn't really care for. If I'm remembering correctly, I just thought it was too cheesy. I do remember liking the others pretty well, especially the Catherine Anderson and Casey Claybourne stories.:-)

message 193: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (fiona64) One of many I'm reading right now, but the only one pertinent to this group: Deception by Jaimey Grant . It's not officially out yet, but I'm getting an advanced peek at the work. :-)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
That's too bad, Julie. She's one of my favorites. Maybe you'll like one of her longer books better, if you try her again.

Sharon, I'd like to read Deception, and others by Jaimey.

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 73 comments Perhaps I will try another one sometime, Danielle. I remember seeing a trilogy of hers on my MIL's bookshelf a while back.

I just realized that I'm currently reading a Victorian romance, Longing by Mary Balogh, although I should be finishing it today.

Which author are you speaking of? I've scrolled back and tried to figure it out, but alas, I'm a dimwit and cannot. LOL

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Connie Brockway, Dhestiny. And you're not a dimwit!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish Thanks, Danielle!!! It took me a minute to remember what you were talking about. LOL

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
You're welcome. :)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I just finished Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare and loved, loved, loved it!

I'm reading One Dance with a Duke (Stud Club, #1) by Tessa Dare which is my first Tessa Dare read.
