I call it a filter of the mouth. I am often telling my husband he left his filter at home!

Seriously, the two of y'all are making me laugh and smile so much! It feels wonderful. Thanks for the laughs!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I need to have me some breakfast! I want a machaca burrito sooooooooo bad. My taste buds are saying "Yes! YES!" but my thighs are saying "What the hell are you thinking???"

What is a machaca burrito?

Oh, you poor thing to have to ask... it's a burrito with shredded beef, scrambled eggs, onions, peppers and cheese. It sounds horrid but it's the most amazing thing since... since... butter.

So, I love the idea that you all have BDB names, but what is the meaning behind it? I've not read that series yet, but I will eventually get around to it. My mother-in-law just started it and will pass it to me when she is finished.

I loved your idea of having Courtesan names, will you start that for us? What are your thoughts on it and how would we choose our names?

Cheryl you should definitely read the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. They are like crack!

Well, we are all huge fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood of course and once you start the series, which I hope is very soon, you'll see all the Brothers have unique names. There's Wrath, Rhage, Zsadist, Butch (Dhestroyer)Viscious, Phury, Rehvenge, John Mattew (Tehrror), Tohr (Tohrment) and as more Brothers join, of course there are more names. Well, in a moment of posting frenzy, someone decided we shnould all have names and become the Sisterhood... the group is called The Sisters of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and the only requirement is that you love the books!

I've been trying to think of a lovely Courtesan name for myself but I'm not good at choosing. Any ideas?

YAY! They are choosing mods, etc. I volunteered because I have so much time available but I don't know what I would be doing.

Danielle, I love mexican food too! It's my favorite!
Dhestiny- I say go ahead and eat it! You deserve it, I don't know where you live but I woke up to snow this morning. School is closed so I have my children at home and that is cause enough to splurge on food!! So, eat it for me! I indulged in muffins this morning!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish OOoh, what kind of muffins? I love warm banana nut muffins with way too much butter. UGH, my thighs just laughed at me.

Blueberry WITH lots of butter! They were delicious and I haven't had them in so long! I actually have changed the way I eat on a regular basis and have lost just over 50 pounds in this past year!--So, the muffins were a treat! Are we off the subject again? LOL

I don't know how to choose a Courtesan name. How did y'all come up with your BDB names?

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish People just started choosing names. We are so entrenched in that world, it wasn't too hard and because we are so familiar with the spellings and meanings, it was pretty easy. The Sisters had chosen Dhevotion for me, but then I thought of Dhestiny and could resist. Now there's another one I thought of this morning that's really calling to me, but I will stick with Dhestiny.

I love Blueberry muffins, but banana is my favorite.

Let's see... post a few things about yourself... likes, dislikes, qualities you like about yourself, favorite characters from history... it might be harder to make Courtesan names since it's not a made up world, you know?

OK, I need to get out of here for awhile. I'll check back for your posts a little later!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Hehehe. I have been on vacation this week while it snowed furiously outside and have partaken in lots of reading. I love the Bridgerton series, though that particular one is not my favorite. I hope you enjoy! :)

I'm trying to decide what to read next. Part of me wants to read Not Quite a Husband, but I should probably read a challenge book :P

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Hi Flib. I'm glad you had some reading time. I've been convinced to read Not Quite a Husband, so I'll tackle that one sometime this year. I'm doing some paranormal challenge reads right now, but I'm enjoying myself. :)

message 127: by FlibBityFLooB (new)

FlibBityFLooB Danielle -- the book is sitting on my bedside table eyeing me while I read other books. It's like it is challenging me to stop reading other books and read it. We'll see if I can hold up to the pressure ;)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
I have a few of those too, Flib.

I just finished Soulless by Gail Carriger. If you love historical romance and want to try something different, I recommend this one. It was very entertaining.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish OK, a question... I've never understood knowing Victorian from Regency from Bostonian, etc...

Wallflowers... Victorian?

Since I am crazy about Wikipedia, here's are links to the Wikipedia pages on each period.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia pages for Victorian Era and Regency Era

Victorian:

Regency:

Let's throw in Georgian and Edwardian to be complete:

Bostonian, I think that's just pertaining to the city of Boston, so I guess a story set there.

How did you like it, Kelly?

message 140: by Kelly (new)

Kelly | 29 comments I know I haven't written a review. Still mulling it over. I really wish GR would allow 1/2 stars. I would have given it a 3.5. It was a Beauty and the Beast type plot. I haven't read many so I did enjoy it. I liked the h/h and felt they had chemistry and were well developed. I also really enjoyed Grey's brother they exchange a few funny lines. I hope he (Archer) gets his own book. So I do recommend it and I hope to read more of Smith's books.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Yes, I wish they had half stars too.

I plan to start the Elizabeth Peters books someday, Julie.

message 149: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 73 comments I think you'd like these books, Danielle. Amelia can be pretty aloof sometimes which can be a little off-putting to me, but she makes up for it with her dry wit and extraordinary geekiness which I love. The mystery, adventure and a little romance along with the exotic Egyptian setting are fun too.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 739 comments Mod
Sounds good to me, Julie. I love exotic adventure books.
