PattyMacDotComma The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter, written by Carson McCullers when she was only 23, has become a classic of the American South - 1930s Georgia. Great characters!

PattyMacDotComma I'm sure a lot of readers are familiar with Montessori schools, but I bet they don't know Maria Montessori was the first woman in Italy to go to medical school. Maria Montessori by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara is designed for little kids, but I learned a lot, too.

Constantinos Capetanakis Good morning. I've just joined Goodreads and this Group. I am very happy to be here and share thoughts and view on our beloved books.

I am not sure how to add friends or be added as one. No FB here I'm afraid.

Cuyrrently reading Swan's Way (yes, took the leap) and Breakfast of Champions (I never expected K. Wonnegut would dissapoint, but it seems there's always a first).

It's a good book I enjoyed it a lot, though probably because I did the mash-up of Eos and ToD. It was a great experiencie!

I'm currently trying to re-read The Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra Clare because I want to read Chain of Gold next, but I honestly can't get into it like when I first read them. And I'm also trying to read The Bane Chronicles by the same author but no luck either.

I feel the dreaded reading-slump looming over me...

How was it? Is it as good or better than the TV show? I want to read those books too but I'm still unsure.

Thank you! TID is a great trilogy but I guess I'm just not in the right mood. I think I'm going to try with another book before the reading-slump hits me and I spend the next month feeling frustrated because I can't read anything xD

Any recommendations? We seem to have similar tastes in books.

message 475: by Haleema (new)

Haleema Q You are very welcome!! Hmm I've recently really loved YA books although my first real read was probably Divergent by V (but it's a kind of 'love or hate' trilogy -i quite liked it). But feel free to check my 'want to read' shelf since my sister has like bombarded me with LOADS of book recommendations !!! XD
Any books you particularly enjoyed? I
Xx

PattyMacDotComma Peace Like a River by Leif Enger appealed to me on every level. I've got a soft spot for a child's point of view, and when there's humour and terror and adventure and tragedy and romance all mixed with a hint of magic, what more could I want?

Do you mean to add the link? You need to be online, not on the app. There is a link just above the text box that you comment in that says "add book/author". Click on that and do a search for your book. When you find it, click the "add" button to the right of it.

The book link is automatically selected. If you prefer the book cover, there is a toggle just below the search results that says "add: 🔘link ⚪️ cover" just select cover instead.

Well, based on what I have read so far, the reader is part of the plot. We are in the story.
