Lori Baldi | 9 comments I’ve started The Storied Life of AJ Fikry. This is a good one & I’m sure many others have already read it. I like the bookstore setting and like how unexpected the protagonist is with his reaction to the happenings. I had to give up on a romance that had been recommended by someone on Good Reads. The Hunter was not for me.

I agree, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry is a good one, Lori.

I'm planning to finish Little Secrets today. I think this one is good. It's not the exact story I was expecting. It's much more about the affair and the MC's response to it than it is about the kidnapping, but I enjoyed it anyway.

I'm also reading What You Wish For and really enjoying it, though the MC's thoughts are a little repetitive. I'm hoping that stops as we get further into the story.

I also just started All the Broken People. It's ok. I'm not really in the mood for another book where the MC makes terrible decisions right now, so I put it aside for What You Wish For, which at least has a little humor and romance mixed in with her bad decisions instead of her life being at risk.

It has a lot more wit than the show and is easier to understand when they go back and forth in time. I am looking forward to read the next in the series, but it has a long wait at the library.

message 548: by AT (new)

AT Demeter | 48 comments I am now reading Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera. I just watched the Royal Albert Hall version of the musical with my mom’s mom. (It was the first time she’s seen it.) So, after watching it, I decided to read the novel. I also am doing some editing on my own Phantom sequel that I’ve completed; it’s called The Phantom’s Angel.
The Phantom story (both musical and book) has impacted me in more than one way, some of them big. Would anyone care to share how the novel or musical touched them, if it’s happened to them?
