Loved The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry!

Reckless by Stella Rhys was fabulous. It’s a well written boss romance – friends to enemies with a great simmering slow burn. Dialogue is smart, snarky and tender.

Captive by R.J. Lewis was an epic read. Not a dark captivity story (not mafia) but it is gripping, edgy…with a sense of mystery about the roles of villain and victim. Oh, and captor Nixon is hot, hot, hot – shades of Mystery Man but bad. This is longer than most books so be prepared. (GR rating 4.5)

Brief quirky Japanese book.
A fabulous little story about a math professor who only has 15 minutes of memory and the housekeeper and her son who become part of his life.
5*****+

I'm currently reading Death on a Summer Night, which is pretty good so far for a short story. It doesn't feel like a short story.
I'm also back to reading All the Broken People, which I took a little break from to read What You Wish For because I wasn't in the mood for this one at the time. I had too many similar books in a row, but now that I've read something different I'm ready to get back to it.

I've started reading Haze

The Phantom was the first Broadway musical I ever saw. I was enthralled by the beauty and theatrics of the entire show, and I fell in love with Michael Crawford, who played the Phantom. I now have 2 teenage daughters and have wanted to take them to see it but neither one has any interest in it :(.

I am currently reading The Stand

I hope you love it! It is really long, but so good. I read the uncut version when it was first released in 1990. I may end up doing a re-read someday.

I am also reading The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, which is really cute so far.

I am well aware of what happened in France from the experiences of my parents, grandparents and their friends. They lived through the invasion of nazi Germany, the shameful surrender of Petain, and the fighting that lasted a year after D-day.
If you are interested in World War II, the book is a great read.

It was such an interesting take on what Shakespeare’s home life might have been like and the absolutely tragic loss of his son Hamnet, written through the eyes of his wife, Agnes.

It was such ..."
Jodie, I love O'Farrell's books, but I haven't read this one yet. Sounds good!

Reminded me of a cruise on Costa when one of the entertainers sang The Music of the Night. He was so good and had the voice for the song.

Also finished this morning

This post made my day!

I am enjoying it. It is a bit dated but the clues are all there. I love a good mystery with well placed clues

Currently reading 'The great alone' after it was recommended by a friend. Only a few chapters in but am enjoying it so far.

This post made my day!"
I am guessing you didn't love it?
