PattyMacDotComma I enjoyed many of the old poems in Around the Boree Log and Other Verses by John O'Brien, especially “We’ll all be rooned, said Hanrahan”, the eternal pessimist. Always fun to read these.

PattyMacDotComma Elizabethan England - Shakespeare and Marlowe as minor characters with questionable ethics - great mix of real and imagined characters in P.F. Chisholm’s entertaining Sir Robert Carey historical mystery series. Loved A Murder of Crows.

PattyMacDotComma What a debut! I absolutely loved When We Were Vikings by Andrew David MacDonald. Zelda is different and awkward and she knows it, but she faces life with an honest earnestness that I wish more people had.

PattyMacDotComma I recently enjoyed the prequel (#.7) to Aussie-Irish author Dervla McTiernan's excellent Cormac Reilly mystery series. The Roommate is delightfully creepy.

PattyMacDotComma Loved Death in Delft! This is the first of a brand new series from Graham Brack, (creator of my favourite Czech detective, Josef Slonsky). Master Mercurius is already another favourite character.

They are posted on the group's home page. You can also tell by looking at the polls to see which books won. There are also dated discussion threads for both of the books in the discussion folder. The discussion threads are typically set up a couple of weeks before the month begins.

The two winning books for April were:

Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë Wuthering Heights - discussion thread here
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott Little Women - discussion thread here
