Next Millar book is The Fiend
I finished reading The One by John Marrs. Here is my 5 star review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Speaking of Ruth Ware, I'm currently reading The Turn of the Key
Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. Brilliantly written coming of age tale with a hint of mystery set in 1960s Minnesota. One of the best books I have read in a long time. Rating - 5/5

Full Dark House
by Christopher FowlerBryant and May #1, introduction to the series. Charming English mystery set both in 1940 and 2003, when the book was written. First in the series about the Peculiar Crimes Unit which investigates crimes outside of the purview of the usual units. I liked it a lot but one item of concern -- some chapters take place in 1940 and others in 2003 and Fowler doesn't label them so you have to read the first paragraph or 2 to tell, and then go back and reread now understanding the time frame.
Finished The Lewis Man
by Peter May Peter May. the second book in the Lewis Trilogy. Every bit as good as the first book.Atmospheric, character-driven; set in the Outer Hebrides.
The Holdout
by Graham MooreWhen a single juror in a murder case 'holds out' for a not guilty verdict there are repercussions for everyone involved.
Good suspense novel. 3.5 stars

Bellweather Rhapsody
by Kate RacculiaWhen a teenager disappears from a talent/music exposition for high schoolers, it's oddly reminiscent of a suicide at the same hotel years ago. Some young attendees decide to become amateur sleuths....
Good mystery with interesting characters. 4 stars

Fforde's books are so kooky. 😊
Stone Cross by Marc Cameron. An astounding thriller featuring US Marshalls in Alaska, as interesting for its depiction of the locales than for its mystery. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Sean I can't ever see what book you've read or the author's name. I just get a tiny dark picture of the cover. It's impossible on my apps and not much better on the laptop. Can you link or type the title and author so we can see what it is?

Somebody Owes Me Money
by Donald WestlakeThis is an oldie but a goodie from Westlake in 1969. Chet is a gambler and when he gets a tip on a horse race he puts down his bet and wins. Things go downhill from there. This book is Westlake at his best -- wonderful characters, plot makes sense, and it's hilarious. 4 stars.

If you liked that, you should try Westlake's "The Hot Rock" - it is a hilarious movie. Also Charles Willeford's "Miami Blues" (also a decent movie with some dark humor.)
Writers like Westlake, Willeford, Elmore Leonard and Carl Hiassen wrote those offbeat crime novels that aren't always easy to film - they are hilarious to read, but Hollywood doesn't seem to have a knack for adapting them.
Diver’s Paradise. A so-so thriller set in a nice locale. Good writing for a debut novel and a quick easy read, so I’ll let you be the judges of it. My review : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
