30.5 - Sandy's task: Atlantis

2. Read a book with the genre "utopia" or "dystopia" on its main page. I read Bird Box by Josh Malerman.

3. Read a book the title or subtitle of which contains a word that matches exactly a word of 4 or more letters from the lyrics of Donovan's song Atlantis. I read Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar by Cheryl Strayed. The matching word is "beautiful".

50.1 Start The New Year Off Right!

Option 1: On Dublin Street by Samantha Young (goodreads author)
*Almost works for 20.4 option 1 because though it takes place within the European Union, the taskwriter excludes UK settings. This book is set in Scotland, which means it does not fit the task due to the pesky UK caveat.
*Had this ok'd by taskwriter msg 73(50.1 help thread).

Option 2: Vain by Fisher Amelie (goodreads author)
*I bought this book almost exactly a year ago. I immediately started it but was not in the mood for the rich snobby horrible main character so I abandoned it pretty early on. Thus, NOT a reread. Glad I read it in it's entirety this time around - LOVED it!!

Option 3: Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng (Goodreads Author)
* Nominee in gr 2014 Best Debut Author Catagory. NOT A REREAD.

5.2 Clio I am moving Orphan Train from this spot to use it in task 25.10 below. I am replacing it here with another book which has “historical fiction” as a GR genre: The Absolutist by John Boyne.

25.1 Angel’s New and Old I am moving Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking from this task to use in task 25.10 below. I am replacing it here with another book by another new-to-me author. The entirety of 25.1 now looks like this:

25.1 Angel Book-Junkie’s New and Old
Book 1. Option 1. I read a new-to-me book by one of my favorite authors, sf writer Philip K. Dick. I read Dr. BloodmoneyDr. Bloodmoney.
Book 2. Option 2. I read a book by a new-to-me author, The Heyday of the Insensitive Bastards by Robert Boswell.

There is no change in scoring for these substitutions. Then:

25.10 Lois’ Book Groups

Book 1. I read Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain, the January selection of my real-life book club. Moved from 25.1, option 2.

Book 2. On Jan. 16, 2015 the book Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline was #7 on the “This Week—U.S.” list. I moved it from task 5.2 to use it as Book 2 here.
